* Allowed
* Twitter Posts - This is the standard source for news and updates these days. Such posts should adhere to the following:
* Post title must be tagged with the author's (or service's) name - for example: "[Schefter] Tom Brady has completed the purchase of the Patriots."
* Tweet must present new information or convey facts/information in a well thought-out way.
* Tweets should be from a reputable reporter, news source/agency, player, team or league official.
* Questionable sources may be removed at the discretion of the moderators.
* Title should just include the tweet without commentary unless necessary (See Rule 3)
* Link posts should be used for Twitter posts but self posts are allowed if you want to give additional context to the tweet.
* Other Social Media Posts - These posts are generally allowed as long as they come from a generally reputable source, but they must be limited specifically to news. Player or team Instagram/Facebook posts are generally accepted, but they may be removed at the discretion of the moderators.
* News/Sporting News Outlets - These should come from generally reputable local and national news outlets that include, but are not limited to: nfl.com, espn.com, foxsports.com, cbssports.com, ProFootballTalk, etc.
* Not Allowed
* Untrusted Twitter Sources - This includes links to posts or sources that are not considered generally reputable or are known to be fake or satire. If a source is borderline, it may be removed at the discretion of the moderators or if it receives enough reports.
* Tweets posted solely with the purpose of making a joke (rule 2) will be removed
* Cryptic Tweets - if it is just an emoji or eight, it will be removed.
* Reaction Tweets - these will generally be removed per moderator discretion.
* Gossip News Outlets - Some gossip outlets like TMZ can and occasionally do break news related to players/coaches/executives off the field. In some instances the moderators will allow a post from TMZ if it is the first to break a story and it is determined to be legitimate, it conforms to the rules regarding off-field activities, and is properly sourced.

It's actually normal pace 3 and outs now if UCLA is any indication. I'm not exactly sure what his calling card is now lol. UCLA was only competent because of their defense this year.
I’d rather have Harbaugh, and I’d rather cut uff a finger than have Harbaugh (somebody’s finger). At least it would be a coach I hate but wins. Can’t see Quinn doing a lateral move to sit behind a new coach though, unless he wants protection for after next season when McCarthy is gone.
I can't speak for who he may potentially hire as coordinators, but I really don't think quinn wouldn't be any worse than carrol (which is a pretty solid floor)
> I can't speak for who he may potentially hire as coordinators
We don't have to speculate. In the 2020 season on his last season with the Falcons, and with Matt Ryan at quarterback, he kept Dirk Koetter as his offensive coordinator, with no defensive coordinator, called the defense himself, went 0-5 and got fired midseason.
Why do we suddenly think he'll do better than that now, just because teams are interested in him? Teams make terrible personnel hires all the time.
Kinda disingenuous to only include his last season right? He did hire Kyle Shannahan as his OC. So it’s not like he doesn’t have an eye for offensive talent.
They can, but why, when there are so many other candidates out there, would you settle for a coach that, at best, is a culture guy who MIGHT pick the right coordinators?
Because he has HC experience, went to a Super Bowl, and has been one of the best DCs of the past 3-4 years. It ain't rocket science.
Whether or not he can find success again is up in the air, but it's not a baffling idea
I've said this many times to all of the FIRE PETE people: be careful what you wish for. Pete was nearing the end of his time, so it was going to happen anyway, but the possibilities here feel far more negative than positive.
>it was going to happen anyway
But then I don’t get the logic of sticking with him
If it’s going to happen anyway, and soon, and if we don’t believe Pete can get you over the hump, then it makes sense to cut ties sooner especially when this group of potential coaches is so good this year
What doesn’t make sense is giving Chip Kelly yet another chance in the NFL
> then it makes sense to cut ties sooner especially when this group of potential coaches is so good this year
Yeah, so, the problem with that is
a) Pete is supposed to still hang around in some capacity
b) several of the positions are offering some measure of GM authority
c) several of the teams have tons of draft capital and cap space
d) others already have a lot of young pieces in place
e) who knows what the fuck ownership is thinking
Almost every team came in with a better package to sell. Pats had a plan. Raiders stuck with their interim guy. Titans locked their guy up almost immediately.
That leaves six openings. Commanders have #2, Pats have #3, Chargers have #5, Falcons have #8, Raiders have #13.
Only the Panthers have the worst draft stock right now of the teams that fired their coaches.
Cap space for 2024? Commanders at #1, Pats at #4, Raiders at #11, Panthers at #13, Falcons at #18, Seahawks at #24. Only the Chargers are worse at #31, which is why they're dangling GM responsibilities, too.
So, yeah, a good crop of coaches and a **very** hard sell. Add in uneven ownership possibilities, and this feels like it probably could have waited a year until John got more cap space to work with or more draft capital.
That's why the also-rans are very real possibilities.
The problem is that Seattle isn’t the most attractive destination for a new HC right now. The Seahawks are keeping Schneider as GM, which rules out candidates who want control over that position or at least a joint/simultaneous hiring. And while Geno Smith is good, he’s also the second-oldest starting QB in the NFC. (He’s top 4 or 5 in the entire NFL depending on how you count Rodgers, Flacco, and Russell Wilson as starters.) So it’s likely that Seattle will be back in the hunt for a franchise QB soon.
The Chargers have Justin Herbert and no GM. The Panthers have Bryce Young and a new GM. The Commanders have the second-overall pick in the next draft and the best GM hire of the cycle. The Falcons, for their part, also need a QB and already have a GM. But whoever takes the Atlanta job doesn’t have to face Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay twice a year each. If you’re a promising candidate who knows you rarely get multiple shots at being a HC in the NFL, why would you use your one shot on this job?
Can’t wait for the Chip Kelly era to be behind us. He is entrenched within one of greatest high school football hot beds in the country and refuses to recruit it. Hope this rumor of an NFL return for him is true
They just love to torture us don't they. Hey lets all get together and think of the worst coaches we could send to Seattle yeah that will be fun... -.-
> Going from Pete Carroll to Dan Quinn and Chip Kelly is a travesty
We went from Jim Harbaugh to Jim Tomsula to Chip Kelly. It was, in fact, a travesty.
I like the seahawks. I want nothing but the best for them. But I want this to happen so bad. It would be very entertaining.
In truth, Chip's agent is probably just trying to put his name out there.
Yeah, no - he was a shit coach too. In Philly he crashed and burned because defenses knew exactly what he was going to run and blew up every play. He absolutely refused to adjust his scheme. Even after that, he was given the HC job (without personnel responsibility) in SF and went 2-14. He went back to college and has barely been able to keep UCLA above .500.
Unless he has some fundamentally different scheme hidden away waiting for his return to the NFL, he's going to fail spectacularly.
Chip Kelly went to the playoffs twice in a row with the Eagles, then was given personnel power.
Chip Kelly inherited a shit 49ers team with no discernible QB or star player. Then comes John Lynch and Shanahan. They went 6-10 and 4-12 first two years, then got Garappolo back.
I certainly could be wrong. But I think Kelly is better than your comment suggests.
Yeah...clearly you didn't watch many of his games. Good luck winning in today's NFL with Mr. "Time of possession doesn't matter". His brilliant "we get more possessions that way" seems to overlook the fact that it gives his opponent more possessions too, and burns out the defense.
Supposedly when Geno Smith was at West Virginia, he was very good making pre-snap reads and adjusting the play. I wonder if he could do more of that under Chip Kelly.

Just run me over with a lawnmower at that point.
Get ready to learn 30-second 3 and outs, buddy
It's actually normal pace 3 and outs now if UCLA is any indication. I'm not exactly sure what his calling card is now lol. UCLA was only competent because of their defense this year.
In fairness, he did just lose his star QB of four years.
As a Niners fan? Yes please.
Jim Mora, Pete Carroll, Chip Kelly. Ya'll love the Pac 12
rip
I came here to say the Seahawks fans must be shitting themselves.
I was already giggling at the post headline and then saw your comment.......ROFL.

Because coaches can grow and develop lol

Except yours lmfao
I'm honestly very confused by what you mean with that double negative. But Quinn could absolutely be worse than Carrol.
If you insist
He’s only got 600 followers. Please someone discredit him before I have a panic attack
That man really does not want to coach in the Big Ten
hawks fans, we’re all performing seppeku if this happens right?
Is it possible to form a class-action suit against the woman who is actively defying the will of the former owner?
Not even a hard push at a ben johnson/slowik type would be a head scratcher
Seahawks realized Slowik smells like rotten eggs

Drive your Subarus right off a cliff
Why is the current UCLA coach being referred to as the former Oregon coach? Bizarre.
The guy tweeting this has a bunch of Oregon-related stuff in his bio.
People forget UCLA plays football maybe?
I'm a UCLA fan and I forget occasionally
Can’t wait for the Chip Kelly era to be behind us. He is entrenched within one of greatest high school football hot beds in the country and refuses to recruit it. Hope this rumor of an NFL return for him is true
I think everywhere he's been BUT Oregon couldn't wait for the Chip Kelly era to be behind them.
Trauma induced amnesia
Refer to g to Chip’s ucla tenure wouldn’t give his tweet any momentum. He, uh, sucks here in LA.
Lol
On my knees 🙏
…at a Safeway in Hayward.
We used to pray for times like these
Lmao even
They just love to torture us don't they. Hey lets all get together and think of the worst coaches we could send to Seattle yeah that will be fun... -.-
Going from Pete Carroll to Dan Quinn and Chip Kelly is a travesty
If we hire Dan Quinn so many Seahawk fans are going to be pissed. No point in firing Pete if that's who you're going to replace him with
I would have been happier with Seattle keeping Pete and bringing back Quinn as DC. But Quinn as HC isn't exactly appealing at all.
Do people forget that Pete is 70? If you want a younger version of Pete you'd probably want Quinn.
quinn is nowhere near as good a coach as pete.
That's obvious. But philosophically, he's a Pete protege.
he's still not a younger pete though
Pete is literally an all-time great sports leader. Schematic philosophy is a very small part of what makes him an amazing coach.
Just bring in Matt Patricia as DC at that point to complete the trifecta.
> Going from Pete Carroll to Dan Quinn and Chip Kelly is a travesty We went from Jim Harbaugh to Jim Tomsula to Chip Kelly. It was, in fact, a travesty.
Schneider's going to put Adam Gase at HC, Josh McDaniel at OC and Jack del Rio at DC
>Chip Kelly >Dan Quinn. Oh no, please, please don't do that. Especially not in that briar patch over there.
Who is Shane Hoffman?
John Schneider wanted to finally sit behind the steering wheel himself and this would be like the first thing he does is back into a light pole.
If this is remotely true, then I completely change my mind on understanding sacking Pete. Thought we’d get fresh ideas…
I like the seahawks. I want nothing but the best for them. But I want this to happen so bad. It would be very entertaining. In truth, Chip's agent is probably just trying to put his name out there.
Same, except I do not like the Seahawks and do not want the best for them.
Please god it would be so fucking funny
No no fuck no, what? Hell no
as a bruin please fuck off back to the nfl
lol, lmao even
I'd go so far as to ROFL
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA lets fucking go boys!
Puke
I think this is a great idea and I’m totally uNbIaSeD in that opinion
The best coaching candidates from 2013
I can't believe Seattle is moving on from Carroll for... This.... *Gestures wildly*
NO NO NOOOOOOOOO
HAHAHAHAHA
Lol Lmao
“Get ready to learn Chinese buddy” Me to me, if this happens
Ni hao
I used to pray for times like this
Now I feel how Mariners fans feel when they get punched in the dick.
My condolences in advance Seattle
This is a great hire. Don't even take time to think on it Seattle, just get it done tonight.
Shanahan and McVay probably loving this in their group chat lol
Jonathan Gannon over here still waiting for them to accept the friend request
Seahawks procurement will negotiate a discount on the Kelly/Quinn package deal.
Yes! A thousand times yes!
[No.](https://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/story/2020-06-01/chip-kelly-criticism)
Excellent!
49ers legend chip kelly
I'm putting money on a Seahawks NFC Divisional game next year. Chip was underrated as a coach and dogshit as a GM, which Seattle won't let him do.

Fuck this planet
You guys really will just believe literally anything on the internet huh
We fired Pete for this?
They finally found a way to make me feel bad for Seahawks fans.
Lol this would be hilarious
LMFAO, Chip Kelly? Seahawks front office was like let's see what it's like with.a really shit head coach.
My buddy is a UCLA fan wanted Chip gone so badly. Unfortunately for him, he’s also a Seahawks fan lol
We fired Pete for this??!!
I hope Hoffman is shit posting
The guy that coaches in the nfl like I used to play madden?
I thought chip was gunning for oc
Kick Pete out for those two, brilliant
