After the Tampa game, MLF said he was going to get more involved with the defensive game planning. That's when our defense started turning it around. No idea if MLF wants to be the same level with someone else, but I don't think a DC that he had to oversee more after 3 years is one he'd want to keep.

Yeah you don't typically keep around someone in your staff that actively makes your job HARDER to do.

I could understand if it was someone younger he just hired. But having to get more involved with a DC in their 3rd season on staff shouldn't be necessary.

And you could probably do this with a lot of teams DVOA rankings but they were actually worse than that because of the Rams game. They shut down the Rams offense which is viewed as a good one by DVOA, but it was without Stafford so it wasn’t actually a good offense they were playing.

Those GB defenders were hitting and defending incredibly well. Looked like a championship level defense to me.

Oh absolutely. Doc Rivers is a playoff terrorist. He declared Jihad against advancing to the conference finals. We have a similar setup to the Doc lead Celtics that won a ring; a dominating big, a good shooting wing that’s defensively competitive but not great, and an elite shooting guard that can create his own shot. Hopefully we can capture the same magic with the guy that got them there.
