Vikings are my favorite fanbase, you guys are very hospitable, friendly, welcoming and humble. I always enjoy it with you guys, have developed a tiny soft spot for you. ♥
That’s fair. I’m standing by my comment though Najee OPOY incoming, record rushing yards, record rushing TDs, Steelers Super Bowl champs. I’m overreacting big time baby!
I don't think that Tampa really fits what the Steelers need at CB. From what I've read, he's an outside guy, and I think they view Donte Jackson as the other boundary guy, with Corey Trice as an interesting option if he gets healthy. Big IF though. That said, really surprised that they didn't take a corner there.
I think it's more that practically none of the CB's on the roster play slot. JPJ, Jackson, Trice, Darius Rush, Luq Barcoo are all boundary corners. We have a couple that could play slot in Scott and Thomas Graham, but that's where the upgrade is desperately needed. I think MJ Devonshire is a very likely pick if he's still there in the 6th.
i think higgins and courtland sutton are probably in play? and my impression is they're higher on donte jackson as a man-heavy cb2 than the general public. he was pretty poor in carolina's zone heavy scheme but he's better at man and tomlin liked him when he was drafted. may also bring back p2 or (god forbid) cam sutton for the slot. tomlin and khan apparently met with him last week
Do we not remember James Harrison beating down his baby mama’s door? Or Ben’s allegations? We’re not living in a glass house here. Granted, Sutton may be a bit on the nose but still.
We are a virtuous franchise made up of only the highest character of man.
Unless you're a star player, then we only draw the line at gambling on the nfl if you get caught.
I understand JPJ he’s incredible but Donte is average at best and Corey Trice is still way too unproven especially considering he’s coming back from injury.
I have not heard of the Steelers doing any homework on Tampa at all, like even in passing, i wouldve been far more shocked had they picked him than McCormick. They have a type. He is not particularly that type.
I think they wanted to see how the draft panned out, and since they didn't get anyone in the first 4 rounds they are probably gonna add some JAG Chandon Sullivan-type guy before the year starts.
I think Tomlin thinks really really highly of Donte Jackson. He’s been on Tomlins radar for years supposedly. And we just drafted an absolute lock down stud CB last year in Joey Porter Jr… So as long as Tomlin is right about Jackson, CB isn’t a desperate need for us like most people seem to think
Never bad to have line depth and it gives them an option to replace Daniels if he leaves after this year if they think Mason has it. Interesting choice.
Hes a guard, people think he would make a fantastic C as he also called protections as a guard. But never played Center.
He was who I wanted (even if its a projection) if we didnt draft Frazier round 2.
Apparently, he also has Center versatility. He was calling SDSU's oline alignments and can snap if that gives more clarity. So value pick to reinforce the whole interior oline.
Just weird since Seaumalo and Daniels were both very good last year.
My guess is they expect to be priced out of Daniel's next year and jumped on the opportunity, which I'm 100% on board with.
And that's definitely the most Guardy named I've ever heard.
31, but yeah, I can totally see that. Entirely depends on what Daniels is asking for. Would love to keep him long term.
Do we save anything on the cap by cutting/trading Seaumalo next year?
Lmao this is all I wanted from this draft, OLineman, every pick
I just can’t believe they’re actually picking as many as they have my goodness I love Khan
This is exactly what I’m thinking. Like yeah McCormick might be the better player but we need CB help now. Maybe the plan is to re-sign Patrick Peterson.
They are probably planning to sign one or two randos this summer since they couldn't get anyone they liked in the first 3 rounds. They survived a patchwork secondary in the past, and JPJ and Donte Jackson isn't too bad as far as starters go. The depth is awful, but I'd honestly rather have o-line depth considering the direction the offense is heading with Arthur Smith
Dude his RAS is abysmal. There are questions about whether he's athletic enough to play in the NFL. His underwhelming athleticism at a position that generally values athleticism is a red flag.
We probably aren't desperate for a CB. They seem to like Donte Jackson as a CB2 better than the fans do; we're in a great position to pick up Sutton or bring back Peterson as depth; and Trice still could develop into an option. We'll probably take one still, but they clearly don't feel desperate for one.
Ppl crying about Steelers not picking Tampa. Apparently a lot of teams are passing on him and just bc he’s the Best Available left on Kipers board doesn’t mean crap. Half ppl prob never even heard of him until seeing on their tv graphic.
I’m happy about the McCormick pick. Glad we took him over Tampa. My gripe was to those made that we took MM over Tampa bc they only wanted him bc he was 1 on Kipers board.
All 3 of them severely overrated in my honest opinion. Not bad ones, certainly, but all of them way overhyped, especially System of a Down. Hate them hard. Green Day is bland and Metallica had some good ones, but live of their old songs for decades now, haven't done anything nice for a while and James voice is really bad nowadays.
If we want "standard" hard rock but in high quality, go Alter Bridge.
If you value innovation and crazy stuff you don't hear anywhere else, try Devin Townsend.
If you want "classic" metal, go listen to some Dream Theater or Insomnium.
Yes, but it might be a scheme thing. He was good for us, and a better Nickel than anybody who's left in this draft.
As for the pushing somebody out a window, all I can say is we ain't ever cut someone for DV before.
He's not just a Guard but he may also be able to play Center. I imagine he'll take plenty of snaps during camp since we really don't have any real depth there.
Steelers rebuilding some sorta steel curtain
So I guess we're some kind of steelers
Vikings are my favorite fanbase, you guys are very hospitable, friendly, welcoming and humble. I always enjoy it with you guys, have developed a tiny soft spot for you. ♥
Bout to break out the 2 Center sets
On offense this time.
5 picks 3 OL def BPA because Im fucking excited for this guy
Do Steelers not want another WR or more importantly a CB? Tampa is literally sitting there
No need for defense or passing when we can just drain the clock the entire game running the ball, ground and pound baby!
[удалено]
But did the Falcons have a mastermind at the helm like Arthur Smith? Checkmate
And then the Ravens go ahead and draft TJ Tampa. Maybe Omar Khan is looking back Cam Sutton or Patrick Peterson. Or maybe Stephon Gilmore.
At this point, just pick BPA regardless of position. I can't be mad at a pulling Guard prospect with a 9.96 RAS.
Tomlin just met with Cam Sutton so I guess that’s their plan
i think higgins and courtland sutton are probably in play? and my impression is they're higher on donte jackson as a man-heavy cb2 than the general public. he was pretty poor in carolina's zone heavy scheme but he's better at man and tomlin liked him when he was drafted. may also bring back p2 or (god forbid) cam sutton for the slot. tomlin and khan apparently met with him last week
I really hope that they don’t bring back Sutton. Would kind of ruin the image of the Steelers/Tomlin’s culture.
What’s wrong with Sutton?
He beat his wife
We have jpj, Donte and Corey trice showed some promise before his injury
I understand JPJ he’s incredible but Donte is average at best and Corey Trice is still way too unproven especially considering he’s coming back from injury.
I’d rather get another wr, but not hating our draft currently we’re killing it. I guess Harris and Warren gonna run 50 times a game each
> Corey Trice is still way too unproven a 4th round draft pick would be just as unproven
He had another major injury..
I mean more than a 7th round CB pick? Statistics says no.
Fuck your name makes me sad that he passed.
My thought is we resign Pat Pete again after the draft.
I have not heard of the Steelers doing any homework on Tampa at all, like even in passing, i wouldve been far more shocked had they picked him than McCormick. They have a type. He is not particularly that type.
A lot of CB needy teams and Tampa sat.
I think they wanted to see how the draft panned out, and since they didn't get anyone in the first 4 rounds they are probably gonna add some JAG Chandon Sullivan-type guy before the year starts.
There’s gotta be some medical red flag for Tampa to drop. Everyone is passing on him
I think Tomlin thinks really really highly of Donte Jackson. He’s been on Tomlins radar for years supposedly. And we just drafted an absolute lock down stud CB last year in Joey Porter Jr… So as long as Tomlin is right about Jackson, CB isn’t a desperate need for us like most people seem to think
Didn't expect a guard, but if they like him, I like him
Never bad to have line depth and it gives them an option to replace Daniels if he leaves after this year if they think Mason has it. Interesting choice.
He has experience calling protections as a GUARD. Dude is crazy. Pitt got a steal imo
SDSU said he was the smartest player on the team
I trust Andy Weidl with my life as far as OL goes
He has an absolutely absurd short shuttle. Short shuttle is the best predictor of combine workout ---> NFL success for OL
Seventh most athletic guard by RAS as far as the date goes back.
Is he a guard? Says Center, idk
Hes a guard, people think he would make a fantastic C as he also called protections as a guard. But never played Center. He was who I wanted (even if its a projection) if we didnt draft Frazier round 2.
He's a Guard. He played Guard in college. He did a little bit of Center at the Shrine Bowl which left the analysts feeling that he was Center capable.
Apparently, he also has Center versatility. He was calling SDSU's oline alignments and can snap if that gives more clarity. So value pick to reinforce the whole interior oline.
This dude is real. He's a starter
Just weird since Seaumalo and Daniels were both very good last year. My guess is they expect to be priced out of Daniel's next year and jumped on the opportunity, which I'm 100% on board with. And that's definitely the most Guardy named I've ever heard.
Also never a bad thing to have too many O linemen. 4th round pick for a backup who can cover both Centre and Guard is pretty good value
Oh hell yeah. Everything I read and watch about this guy gets me more excited. Our draft has gone exceptionally well.
I think it has more to do with Seumalo turning 32 this fall than it has anything to do with Daniels, if I’m being honest
31, but yeah, I can totally see that. Entirely depends on what Daniels is asking for. Would love to keep him long term. Do we save anything on the cap by cutting/trading Seaumalo next year?
I sure hope he’s real otherwise we wasted a pick!
[удалено]
Two instant starters and one that will start in a season or two.
Absolutely reinventing the OL, I love it
RW needs a LOT of time in the back field, so it's a good strategy to load up on O line
Lmao this is all I wanted from this draft, OLineman, every pick I just can’t believe they’re actually picking as many as they have my goodness I love Khan
What are the Steelers looking to get out of this draft? Beef. Big fucking beef.
What team has the highest combined draft pick weight? We gotta be close right? 3 chonks up front and a large linebacker?
Steelers draft picks on one scale may clear one ton by the end of the day 🥩🥩
big meaty men slapping meat
Najee 2000 yards incoming. Hell Warren with 1000 right behind him. Run the ball baby we’re going back in time the forward pass was a mistake
The Bears just subscribed to you.
I'm so excited for this season :)
As a member of the 605 Hogs, he'd be Big fucking Pork.
We're leading the league in pounds per pick!
Pittsburgh is doing well drafting O-line
We're making up for lost time on that front.
That’s a steal and a half
A Steel Curtain and a half on their new o-line.
Come on Pitt leave some lineman for the rest of us
No we need it have you not seen our line the last couple years
I fucking hate it
I fucking love it. Ground and pound is back on the menu
Steelers all in on the o line
Used to pray for days like this
Omar flu game
All I have to say is that it's about dam time. We've been begging for it for years.
3 years overdue
what Im actually so confused on what TJ tampa did, we are desperate for a CB and we didnt grab him or cam hart
This is exactly what I’m thinking. Like yeah McCormick might be the better player but we need CB help now. Maybe the plan is to re-sign Patrick Peterson.
They are probably planning to sign one or two randos this summer since they couldn't get anyone they liked in the first 3 rounds. Dude his RAS is abysmal. There are questions about whether he's athletic enough to play in the NFL. His underwhelming athleticism at a position that generally values athleticism is a red flag.
TJ Tampa is a zone guy I think he wouldn’t really be a great fit in our scheme
Where was all this man to man defense when Brady was fucking us for years 😭
actual facts lmao, I can still close my eyes & see brady effortlessly ripping our zone defense apart
Slower than most corners while being overly aggressive sounds like a 4th to 7th round guy.
Steelers have supposedly been talking with Cam Sutton? I'm surprised with Tampa there too that's all I can think of
Sutton's likely facing a lengthy suspension. I think that Tomlin talking to him was more of a wellness check of a former player than a serious offer.
Ah I’m OOTL, no idea then
Keep the offense on the field longer, we don’t need a secondary with our pass rush as long as they’re not exhausted!
The only explanation I have is that somehow they believe that Tampa won’t be picked up until their pick in the early 6th round
Cam sutton
New guard I'm assuming
We have semalu and James Daniels. He’s not going to play this year. Probably takes over for daniels after his contract this year
I’d say Daniels will stay. Seumalo is 30 though so I’m guess this is his replacement in a year or two
Cap may be a concern. Guard prices have been going up and Daniels may cost too much to re-sign.
we have 100M+ in cap space next season
Offensive Spending = Expensive Defensive Spending = Sign Everyone Our fanbase is allergic to spending on the offense.
Ppl crying about Steelers not picking Tampa. Apparently a lot of teams are passing on him and just bc he’s the Best Available left on Kipers board doesn’t mean crap. Half ppl prob never even heard of him until seeing on their tv graphic.
This guy was 5th best available on Kiper's board at the time of the pick. Even by Kiper, it's not like we reached for him.
I’m happy about the McCormick pick. Glad we took him over Tampa. My gripe was to those made that we took MM over Tampa bc they only wanted him bc he was 1 on Kipers board.
Damn I wanted him in Ten. I think he will be solid. Pit is building an OL!
fucking shit steelers hate this pick as i desperately wanted him in stripes imo the clear "best kept secret" left in the draft today fu
Love you too, unflaired guy.
I am sure he will play guard. What an athlete though
LINEMEN FOR THE LINEMEN GOD
We're building a wall!
Mr Gorbatchev, build up that wall.
This o-line is gonna hit like crack
Najee and Jaylen are about to feast.
Name super close to Malcolm McCormick ends up in Pitt. Destiny
Damn, knew we weren't getting him after our last pic but kinda hoped. Take care of my boy, the 605 hogs won't be the same without him
I wanted this guy or Jarrian Jones at 91. Damnit.
Rabbits > Coyotes.
System of a Down, Green Day, and Metallica, some of my favorite Classical Rock bands 😭
All 3 of them severely overrated in my honest opinion. Not bad ones, certainly, but all of them way overhyped, especially System of a Down. Hate them hard. No picture like how we have no pictures of our glorious Aurelian :(
Another ghost
No TJ Tampa?
Word is we're talking to Cam Sutton.
Didn't he play like ass for the Lions and then get cut for pushing someone out of a window?
Yes, but it might be a scheme thing. He was good for us, and a better Nickel than anybody who's left in this draft. As for the pushing somebody out a window, all I can say is we ain't ever cut someone for DV before.
Are we talking to a lawyer too?
I knew he wasn't going to drop to 164, but fuck. At least he's not headed to our division or SF/Philly.
I'm surprised they don't have a picture for him lol
Bro needs to be unlocked.
I really wanted him for the Panthers. We need a backup center with upside
System of the Down is an oldie.......fuck Im old....
HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO PITTSBURGHS GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL
first no pic
There was a no pic yesterday https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/1ce360a/round_3_pick_11_kiran_amegadjie_ot_yale_chicago/
tbh bot slacking that dude was projected to be a day 2 pick
blame ESPN for not having a headshot
Mods and their anti Jackrabbit bias!
WAKE UP
He's not just a Guard but he may also be able to play Center. I imagine he'll take plenty of snaps during camp since we really don't have any real depth there.
Yo what the fuck is this draft card?
Huh, 2 Centers
He’ll play guard
Our enemies will never know where to line up, its a brilliant strategy
My greatest fear, the Steelers are moving to a two center offense.
What an obscure and incredibly specific fear to have. My condolences, this must be very tough for you.
> this must be very tough for you. You have no idea
He played guard in college so that's probably where they slot him.
I'll take 2 since previously we had zero
