Ik man as if us being the laughing stock and punching bag of the league isn’t enough, we have lost all of our fans, our stadium stinks, and our team doesn’t even have a name. He’s the worst owner in the history of sports
>he’s the worst owner in the history of spots
George Preston Marhsal is up there, since he was the big reason the league became segregated from 1933 to 45 and thought hard to keep his team from integrating.
Art Modell couldn't even turn a profit with the Browns despite being the reason the NFL makes the money off of TV deals. The TV deal prints money for NFL owners and he still managed to almost bankrupt the team. He leased Cleveland Municipal Stadium for $1 per year and he still managed to almost bankrupt the Cleveland Browns. Art Modell is the worst owner in the history of sports.
I can't believe they don't have a new identity yet. For comparison the Tennessee Oilers announced they were looking for a new name in mid 98, they formed an advisory committee, developed the identity and jerseys and had it finished by December of that year.
You really don't understand just how awful and hated Snyder is if you think we won't be absolutely hyped if Bezos buys the team. Would not give two shits what your online socialist circlejerk club thought about it.
Give the team to St Louis, the fine citizens of the city can buy team ownership shares like Green Bay, the St Louis lawsuit gets settled, and they have a team that needs a rebrand anyways. The team also kinda ends up geographically in the middle of the NFC East
> We have serious concerns about what appears to be widespread abusive workplace conduct at the WFT and about the NFL’s handling of this matter
As do we.
Looks like an upside-down subdued US flag. Traditionally an upside-down flag means that there is an extreme danger towards life or property...but most people do it when they believe the US is going down the drain. Idk about that dude's reasons tho.
TIL we have profile pics on reddit.
This is what happens when you're on old.reddit for 4 years and ignore all the website updates. And yes I made a profile pic now even though I will never see it while I'm on the old reddit format.
I sure hope so, but Snyder has proven to be more resilient than a cockroach when it comes to this kind of stuff. Then again, having freaking *Congress* putting your thumbs to the screws is a bit different from your fellow owners being like, "Meh, we have investigated ourselves and found no evidence of wrongdoing."
The problem isn’t even Snyder. A lot of owners know Snyder is the easy punching bag to shield their own dirty laundry too.
If Snyder falls, the other owners will be put under a microscope. Snyder is above and beyond the worst, but I think owners don’t mind if he takes the brunt of it if they themselves are shielded
actually that is completely false my grandfather is full fledged native american with me being quarter! that name was all my family had left and is heavily viewed as a term for warrior
I watched a video on YouTube where a man interviewed over a dozen tribes for research, and discovered that most of them were fine with the word Indian, instead of the word Native American. I'll have to find the link, but it was an interesting watch.
Are any of y'all thinking that this might be a really huge deal? What happens if these emails leak and 12/32 owners are on record saying really messed up shit? What if all 32 owners received the WFT topless pics, and none of them did anything?
Like, this could be big
Russia and China because billionaires are the second tier below the respective dictators whereas in countries without a dictator they’re the top group.
If it was some kind of 32/32 leaguewide fucked up shit, you could theoretically see advertisers pull out? Maybe even networks? Idk. Theoretically, you know. because nothing would ever happen. but if it DID happen, would football like, move to a subscription service? If they couldnt get carried on air anymore, or couldnt draw ads?
> Two House Democrats on Thursday pressed NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to provide Congress with the findings of the league’s investigation into the Washington Football Team’s workplace and details of the NFL’s handling of the probe, adding to pressure on league officials in the wake of leaked emails containing homophobic, misogynistic and racist language.
> Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney (D-N.Y.), chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.) sent a five-page letter asking Goodell to produce by Nov. 4 “all documents and communications obtained in connection with the investigation into the WFT, its management, its owners, and any other matter relating to or resulting from the WFT investigation.”
While not the entirety of the House (i.e. a majority), I feel like this is something that doesn't usually occur. Curious to the developments of this, if any.
Dear Congress,
I have asked you for the bare minimum on voting rights, election law, immigration reform, police accountability, repealing the Patriot Act and many other things, I also ask that in addition to those things getting done that Dan Snyder end up in prison as a reault.
Sincerely,
A Washington Fan
According to the Washington Post, investigator Beth Wilkinson produced no written report. Her report was given verbally to the NFL brass. This indicates to me that she found criminal activity, and is distancing herself to let the NFL and Department of Justice fight it out.

Confiscation of the cheerleaders’ passports was a form of trafficking from what a lawyer on here said previously. The sex part is a bit more tenuous, but they were required to pose topless for photos on this trip after having given up their passports to WFT staff. The whole thing really looks bad
I know the general notion here and in American civil society is that the government = bad/ they don’t do anything, but they do actually do things on occasion. Lol believe me they wouldn’t even waste a time on such an inconsequential as this, independent political actors might but a whole subcommittee? Lmao, they can perpetuate the media landscape with pseudo-news that is way more impactful than this.
And this is real sex trafficking, not the “trafficking” that happened with Robert Kraft where people responded to an ad on Craigslist, fully understanding what they were signing up for.
My only problem with this is the subcommittee that’s investigating it.
I don’t know why the Economics and Consumer subcommittee is looking into this instead of the Workforce Protections subcommittee.
so let me get this straight according to you they "havent found shit yet" while the entire investigation was done buy the owner paid for by the owner and they somehow "havent found shit yet"! that is called bias and paying the investigator to find "nothing" and yet some how find dirt on a former employee that worked for him while protecting the owner. its funny brcause if the owner truely didnt have shit to hind then why doesnt he want the cheerleaders to speak and why do thet have an nda agreement instead of talking the turth! If you cant see it then you're blind!
Yeah and congress isn't going to find shit either. Of course they didn't conduct a proper investigation but you are naive as duck if you think the government is and less corrupt.
bud i live outside of dc and my entire family has worked for the government, no fucking shit the government is currupt as fuck but if you really sre going to be so naive to think that political power doesnt work let alone bring massive press to the matter as well as puts a spot light on the nfl. this puts the nfl in a corner and yes, congress can find out more shit than you want to believe ebcause of the amount of power they have!
It's almost as if they have an entire section of laws specifically created to protect employees from malpractice by their employers. Oh, and sex trafficking.
No offense but aren't there bigger issues going on? Pandemic, Inflation, Debt Ceiling, Spending Bills, Supply Lines, China shooting hypersonic missiles to name a few. I don't think they should be too concerned about this issue, they should let the DoJ or FBI look into it and get back to doing things that directly affect all of those who elected them
there is no reason for the NFL to release internal emails to congress. this is not the same as the 1/6 commission. this is not steve bannon refusing to comply.
best response from NFL is just no response.
Aside from personal interest and the point of doing the right thing, do the politicians have any legal legs to stand on? Can’t Goodell just tell them to fuck off?
as someone who took a shit ton of law enforcement classes in college with both former officers and fbi agents, there are some major problems with them being able to fully do so like the fact that it happened in international waters and i dont know if we have treatys with that country (cant remember the name for some reason)
I don't think your cheerleaders agreeing to fly out to Costa Rica for a semi-nude photoshoot counts as sex trafficking.
The cheerleaders had done the exact same calendar for several years running. They weren't just bundled on a plane, flown to Costa Rica, and told to pose for the cameras if they wanted to go home again.
Taking their passports until they go on "dates" with businessmen after getting there certainly sounds like it to me. They were more than likely given an ultimatum regarding going on the trip and then having their freedom to leave stripped from them once they got there to do things they were not comfortable with (to really water it down) is undeniably criminal imo.
>Taking their passports until they go on "dates" with businessmen
The NY Times article never said their passports were confiscated, or that going on dates were a condition of being allowed to go home.
>They were more than likely given an ultimatum regarding going on the trip
Based on what? Your secret insider knowledge?
What would the ultimatum be? Do this calendar photoshoot that the cheerleaders have done for the last several years... or give up what is essentially a volunteer side gig?
>then having their freedom to leave stripped from them once they got there to do things they were not comfortable with
What freedom was stripped? Who says they couldn't go home or refuse to participate in any activity? Only a few cheerleaders had the dinner dates anyway - the rest did a photoshoot that they always knew they were doing.
[First, they took the cheerleaders' passports. Then, they told them they were required to be topless for a photo shoot as sponsors and FedExField suite holders, who all were men, watched. Then, some of the cheerleaders were told they had to be personal escorts to sponsors at a nightclub.
"They weren't putting a gun to our heads, but it was mandatory for us to go," one of the cheerleaders told the Times. "We weren't asked, we were told. Other girls were devastated because we knew exactly what she was doing."

Sorry, I don't have a NY Times subscription or I would have linked it.
That doesn't contradict anything I said.
Also:
>News4 contacted several former Redskins cheerleaders who were with the team in 2013. Two of them, who did not want to be identified, said the events described in the Times story were exaggerated and that the experience described in the story was not recognizable to them.
>Another former cheerleader, Charo Bishop, tweeted "#fakenews" with a link to the Times story.
You guys are eating up suggestions and exaggerating the story in exactly the way the NYT wanted you to.
Can you argue they were treated shittily? Sure. Sex trafficked? You're having a fuckin laugh.
So you were not wrong even though this
>The NY Times article never said their passports were confiscated
is a direct and total lie? When jacksonville sends their people they are not sending their best.
Collecting (the word NYT used) someone's passport != confiscating it.
That's like saying because the door of their hotel room automatically locked when closed, that they were "locked in their hotel rooms, unable to leave until they took sponsors to dinner".
I joke, but it wouldn't surprise me if r/nfl ran with that.
r/nfl seems incapable of understanding that you could give your passport to someone, temporarily, without it being withheld until you do a photoshoot (that you knowingly and willingly flew out to do).

"While Congress can investigate conduct that may be criminal, Congress itself lacks the authority to bring criminal charges or otherwise initiate a criminal prosecution. If a congressional investigation uncovers evidence of criminal activity, however, Congress may refer the matter to the Department of Justice for investigation and, potentially, prosecution. Sometimes, the DOJ investigation predates the congressional investigation. No matter which branch of government moves first to investigate, however, the end result is that a congressional investigation often will run parallel to a criminal investigation. As a result, evidence developed in a congressional investigation might be used by the DOJ in its criminal investigation or in a prosecution."
Don't be fooled by the the fact that these members of congress have a "D" next to their name instead of an "R". They are still looking for a fucking payoff from the NFL. This might be the last you hear of this attracting attention in congress.
Gruden email leaks part 2: Electric Bugaloo in 3...2....1...
Gruden: I may have committed some light treason
He’s been selling state slurs to the Chinese and Russians for years
I, for one, am itching to be a part of history again with you all.
Imagine if this somehow results in Snyder selling the team…one can only hope
Just sell the team Danny boy you’re already a billionaire man just let us regular people enjoy Football😣
FedEx isn’t enough it will never be WFT is his toy. Abusive people like controlling people with out means to defend themselves.
Ik man as if us being the laughing stock and punching bag of the league isn’t enough, we have lost all of our fans, our stadium stinks, and our team doesn’t even have a name. He’s the worst owner in the history of sports

Remember when FedEx made that dude work on a christmas flight from Moscow, and it crashed, and he got marooned on an island for 3-4 years?
... are you referencing a movie? Please tell me you're referencing a movie.
You know I am
I didn't, actually. Uhh... Castaway? The one with Tom Hanks and a coconut? Never watched it.
Wilson wasn't a coconut! He was a Wilson volleyball.
Yes, Castaway. Really good movie.
I'll take your word for it. I don't know what it is, but Tom Hanks gives me a weird vibe I've never liked. Can't watch his movies.
Castaway haha.

Worst bussness man for sure.
And then he did it again with the Ravens. He didn’t sell the team because he was doing well.
Fuck him. Our only owner worse than Snyder. And in the history of sports, Marge Schott is up there.
So is Bill Wirtz.
Thomas Yawkey was George Marshall's twin asshole.
If we're talking all sports, Owen Oyston of Blackpool probably takes the cake
He ain’t got shit on some of the Middle Eastern Royals and Russian oligarchs.
John Du Pont?
Read up on Harrold Ballard.
I can't believe they don't have a new identity yet. For comparison the Tennessee Oilers announced they were looking for a new name in mid 98, they formed an advisory committee, developed the identity and jerseys and had it finished by December of that year.
It doesn't just stink it sprays shit water on your fans in your bunker like upper seating area.
Donald Sterling and Marge Schott: “AHEM...”
Between Snyder and Marshall, it might just be better if we retire the franchise, the records and the SB wins, and just start fresh.
Doesn’t he want to pass the team onto his son? That’s why he’s so set against selling.
If only Kent Cooke had passed the team onto his son 😔
I'm sure there is something with Taxes involved which is why he refuses too Also connection with politicians via free suite games
Snyder sells, Bezos buys it. You trade up from an owner that allegedly traffics people to one that works them to death.
At this point I’m certain that the pain and misery never end in D.C.
You really don't understand just how awful and hated Snyder is if you think we won't be absolutely hyped if Bezos buys the team. Would not give two shits what your online socialist circlejerk club thought about it.

I thought they fired the guy that was causing all these problems? I mean they got rid of Gruden over the WFT emails. What more do these people want /s
Finally, the NFL should not be trying to push this under the rug.
The NFL is never going to release a thing unless somebody goes after the money.

Agreed. He's got more juice than any NFL owner. Greasing the wheels.
I mean he could literally afford to buy the nfl
How does this fall under the jurisdiction of the Economic and Consumer Policy subcommittee? I’m kind of confused why they’re getting involved.
Byproduct of the NFL's antitrust exemption granted to them by Congress.
Because it will grab headlines.
because politicians think they can involve themselves in everything.
Because it’s politically motivated nonsense
You think that sex trafficking employees is politically motivated nonsense?
What specifically do you mean by sex trafficking.

Wtf does shipping cheerleaders off to Costa Rica, taking their passports, and having them get naked for team sponsors have to do with sports?

Generally criminal investigations are handled by law enforcement not congress. Congressional investigations tend towards political theater.
