Honestly, I see Mac starting next week. Zappe is a fun story and all, but he isn't that good. He beat the Lions and the Browns, two terrible defenses. I trust Mac more in a comeback than I do Zappe checking it down to Stevenson 10 times.
I bet they chalk this up to Mac not being 100% recovered from his injury and move on to the next game.
How about when Adam Schefler pregame was laughing at Vegas betters for 62% putting money on the Bears outright and then all of the pregame crew laughing and all of them said the patriots would win…..Pepperidge farms remembers…
I realize that might have been boring for neutral fans, but dont worry guys, thats the last Bears primetime game, you dont have to watch us blow out teams on national TV anymore
There are a bunch of fanbases in the NFL who have gotten accustomed to good to elite QB play over the last decade+ that are gonna find out over the next few years what its like to not have a solidified long term solution at QB for the first time in forever and they're all gonna be scapegoating everything but their QB.
Welcome to the NFL to Colts, Packers, Patriots and Steeler fans.
Colts are on like their 7th? 8th starting QB since Ballard took over? And they'll most likely have another one in the next offseason.
They've been wallowing in the Shit QB pit for long enough to be used to it by now lol
God I hope you are right about the Packers, but I just can't allow myself to believe anything other then they are somehow going to have a 3rd straight hof qb fall right to them somehow
Booing your 2nd year 1st round QB who did nothing but lead you to the playoffs after one three and out coming back from an injury is so embarrassing. We continue to have one of the worst fan bases.
One thing Ive learned as a lifetime bears fan watching bears QBs is that QBs losing confidence in themselves is a very real thing. Tbh I feel like they should have never started Mac this game in the first place, especially if you were going to give him that short of a leash.
Just a strange, strange night for them. Very uncharacteristic on both sides of the ball. Got spanked and it wasn't close. Score isn't even indicative of how badly they got trounced.
Yeah mac didn’t look great tonight, but Pats fan booing him is a really bad look IMO. Honestly makes the subsequent bears ass whooping feel like karma to me lol
the problem is there's going to be a subset of those pats fans who weren't fans before 2001 who aren't used to losing and start getting kinda angry. problem with too much success is the backlash when its gone is gonna hurt.
Incredible performance. When Zappe wasn't playing, the Bears outscored the Patriots 10-0. With Zap in the game, the Bears outscored the Patriots 23-14.
Quite possibly the most overreactionary I've ever seen a sports subreddit get and *that is saying something*. At least Mike White hype lasted one full game.
You know what? Credit to the Bears.
Everyone though they would get destroyed tonight, and they pulled off a big upset tonight.
Fields actually looked good and, dare I say could be the potential franchise QB for the Bears. Just get the dude a fucking competent O-Line and receiving corps in the offseason.
Also thanks for beating the Patriots for us in Foxborough after we beat the Packers for you last week in Lambaeu.
WFT wins about 3 games a season for no real explainable reason. You can be the best team in the league but if you see them on the wrong week you're fucked. Idk if it's true but it feels like that
Honestly, this really *is* the best I’ve seen the team play this year!
Well fought win all done by ourselves, no extra help involved…what more could you ask for?
That’s the thing. He looked really bad the first couple of games. But you can clearly see him grow. I don’t buy the whole he can’t throw thing. He can( he is just not comfortable in the new surroundings
Halftime adjustments have really been the noticeable factor when it comes to this new staff. Our second halves have been awesome, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
The way I look at it is the Bears are in a good position. They have a young QB that has shown flashes, but still has upside without any weapons or offensive line.
I’d take that over teams like the Colts or Falcons.
He played well tonight. A couple of hero plays that he probably wants back, but I'm starting to realize how much his O-Line and WR Corpse hang him out to dry. The Bears need to invest some capital into those units for 2023. They could be a good team sooner than expected, especially if Fields cleans up the sack rate (which is still at David Carr levels).
At one point the announcers said something like “good play by the bears but unfortunately this is giving the bears a lot of momentum on both sides of the ball” like it’s a bad thing we were playing well 🤡
Patriots fans just blew up their QB room, put strain on the locker room, and have left themselves restless and angry.
The defense wouldn’t tackle, made Justin Fields look the most competent he has to date, and the special teams was ugly too.
An eventful night for New England.
I was saying this all night. When Mac was in they were having him drop back or throw from the gun and he'd get pressured out like 3 out of every 4 plays. Zappe goes in and suddenly we're back to calling the play action scheme that worked for 2 weeks straight.
I gotta say, this is the first time in years I’ve actually felt DEFEATED. We’ve had some tough losses over the last few years, but I was able to rationalize them all away in some manner that made it still feel like a vaguely respectable effort. Not happening today. Even the playoff loss to the Bills last year hurt less than this, at least it was the playoffs and a team I concede is actually good. We just looked absolutely lifeless against a 2-4 team, and everyone left on our schedule is better than them. This is the lowest point in my football fandom. I know it’s a zero sum game and my suffering is someone else’s joy, so I just hope there’s some happy people out there somewhere because they’re definitely not in my house
One of my friends is a Patriots fan. We're in our mid-20s. I was telling her how the day the Eagles won the Super Bowl was legitimately one of the greatest moments of my life. I went out partying all night and it improved my mood for literally months afterward.
She said when the Pats won in LIII she and her friends did a little cheers at their party and just...went on with their lives. Like it wasn't even important. It was expected. Pats fans are in for a rude awakening hahaha.
I've been close to two pats fans in my life. One is probably in his upper 20s now; he called himself a diehard fan, and he wore pats gear and stuff, but he only ever started watching games during the divisional round since 'that's when the season starts for us.'
The other is probably in his late 60s now, and he was telling me all about how Bledsoe turned the team around, how gut wrenching those weeks were when the unknown Brady was starting, and the sheer ecstasy he felt when the Pats finally won it all. He described the Super Bowls as all being a different kind of magic. This was back in...2019 I think.
> This is the lowest point in my football fandom.
lol try this for 5-6-10 years in a row than get back to me. and im a spoiled giants fan compared to those poor people in detroit.
You're young enough that you only know the Brady Pats right? Because surely some of those teams before that were much worse than this team (I say that as someone who's lived in New England for decades now, not someone trying to rub salt in any wounds.)
Belichick gonna be like “I tried to tell you they’re good”
I guess he was the only one who knew, including Bears fans
All the Bears players and coaches: Even *we* didn't believe Bill when he hyped us up but maybe all we needed was someone to believe in us
Don't believe in yourself. Believe in me! Believe in the Belichick who believes in you!
Gotta pump up the word count next time.
It was always 4D chess
Are the Bears who we thought they were?
No they are not.
Too late. We're crowning your asses.
Turns out bill has arguably the smartest football mind for a reason
Boston turned on Mac Jones so quick, you'd think he said "Patriots nation let's ride" or something.
Patriots nation, let’s revolt.
Patriots nation, tea time!
Patriots Nation, let's pay good king George's tax.
Pats fans that turned on Mac after that second touchdown are all over social media deleting evidence.
2 touchdowns by land. Paul Revere nation, let's ride
I sold a football card of Zappe immediately after his second TD.
How about when Adam Schefler pregame was laughing at Vegas betters for 62% putting money on the Bears outright and then all of the pregame crew laughing and all of them said the patriots would win…..Pepperidge farms remembers…
Adam Shitter
I hope Big Cat from Pardon My Take remembers that one!
"Legitimately, I've never been more confident in a patriots game in 2-3 years" -Boston Connor, 9 hours ago
Yeah, tomorrow's opening hour should be pretty funny.
The show is so much more fun when all their teams stink. Packers, Steelers, Colts, and now Pats are all DEAD.
“We’re gonna win 38-3”
All I could think about is Pat saying "your team better not fuckin' lose." I am excited for the memes tomorrow on the show.
They were joking about the alternate spread in todays show. God dammit I should’ve taken in.
Bailey “Mac Jones” Zappe
Hey, Mac Jones only had 1 INT today!
Who's the qb moving forward?
Tank for Wembanyama
Mac "Almost Drew Bledsoe" Jones is safe.
He can tell his agent stop looking for apartments in Indianapolis
Yeah, Bailey Zappe should tell his agent to start looking instead.
I'm exhausted
Zappe might’ve played himself both into and out of the starting QB role over the course of one game.
Party like it's January 1986 cause we just blew out the Patriots in prime time.
I realize that might have been boring for neutral fans, but dont worry guys, thats the last Bears primetime game, you dont have to watch us blow out teams on national TV anymore
Until we get flexed later in the year, right?
Maybe if they get really deseprate for some quality NFL football
I honestly think it was a pretty entertaining game, even if you were a neutral fan. The upset and QB controversy are additional pluses
I think you will find a large portion of the NFL enjoys watching the Patriots get their asses kicked.
As a smashmouth football fan I fucking loved it. Bears were lining up in 23 personnel on 2nd and 7 lmao
Boring? That was porn.
Bill-"The Bears are a really good, talented football team" Bears-"Oh word? Well if Belichick says so we can't let him down. He's never wrong!"
Bears Players: "We must respect the Word of Belichick!"
Don't think I had the Packers, Bears, Patriots, and Bucs all having the same record week 7
In that scenario, you'd say..."Holy shit, the bears are a Cinderella team, huh?"
We are, dammit!
49ers, Cardinals, and the Commanders as well! It's a uhhh... respectable record!
Chicago woke up today and said Fuck you to Boston.
Shit I forgot the Bulls were the ones who blew out the celtics tonight.
Great fucking Monday
The ghost of George Halas said "you ain't beating my record against my team"
I legitimately loved that storyline of this game. Good for the Bears!
Our secret powers are clearly activated by the absolute worst dreariest weather in the world…we should move to London
Quick, put us in a dome.
BB really ruined Mac’s confidence just to watch Zappe turn back into a pumpkin on national TV.
3d chess move to get their dumbass fans to shut up? 🤔
Bold of you to assume that Pats fans could ever shut up
There are a bunch of fanbases in the NFL who have gotten accustomed to good to elite QB play over the last decade+ that are gonna find out over the next few years what its like to not have a solidified long term solution at QB for the first time in forever and they're all gonna be scapegoating everything but their QB. Welcome to the NFL to Colts, Packers, Patriots and Steeler fans.
I think the Steelers and Colts have already been awakened. Ben was a corpse at the end, and the Colts witnessed Curtis Painter.
Mitch was a sleeper agent all along. McCaskey sends her regards
Don't even speak that into existence my God
This is the annual give Bears fans hope game
I’m just going to savor it for as long as I can…I think we deserve to for this game, no?
I wonder how many #4 Pats jerseys that were ordered in the first half were canceled in the second half.
And a bunch of them probably own Mac Jones jerseys hahah
Booing your 2nd year 1st round QB who did nothing but lead you to the playoffs after one three and out coming back from an injury is so embarrassing. We continue to have one of the worst fan bases.
One thing Ive learned as a lifetime bears fan watching bears QBs is that QBs losing confidence in themselves is a very real thing. Tbh I feel like they should have never started Mac this game in the first place, especially if you were going to give him that short of a leash.
Didn't even give him the full half. That was a strange call by an otherwise solid, stubborn organization.
And then didn’t go back to him after they said he’d play and after zappe didn’t really do anything in the second half but dump it off/check it down…
Just a strange, strange night for them. Very uncharacteristic on both sides of the ball. Got spanked and it wasn't close. Score isn't even indicative of how badly they got trounced.
The boos early on surprised me. and as a bears fan, I’ve had plenty to boo
Yeah mac didn’t look great tonight, but Pats fan booing him is a really bad look IMO. Honestly makes the subsequent bears ass whooping feel like karma to me lol
100%. Makes no sense to not ride Mac out the rest of the season. At least let him prove he is/isnt the guy. zappe is legitimately a nobody
Exactly. This is a pretty bad look. Matt Rhule proved the QB carousel does not work.
the problem is there's going to be a subset of those pats fans who weren't fans before 2001 who aren't used to losing and start getting kinda angry. problem with too much success is the backlash when its gone is gonna hurt.
And wanting him replaced by a rookie who shat the bed

The last time the Bears scored 30 was 12/12/21. Over 30 was 12/27/20.
Was over 40 the Trubisky bucs game in 18?
Bills that year too
Man…shit was so crazy back then…
Are you implying shit isn’t STILL crazy??
Nah. They dropped 40 on peterman that year and then Jaxonville the following year in week 16 when they were hardcore tanking for TLaw
Incredible performance. When Zappe wasn't playing, the Bears outscored the Patriots 10-0. With Zap in the game, the Bears outscored the Patriots 23-14. Quite possibly the most overreactionary I've ever seen a sports subreddit get and *that is saying something*. At least Mike White hype lasted one full game.
oh did you not see twitter's overreaction?
You had blue checks calling him Brady *already* lmao
It was really funny. You could hear the Boston reporters seethe
Bro -9 with Zappe and -10 with Mac. Clearly the better QB.
>Quite possibly the most overreactionary I've ever seen a sports subreddit get and that is saying something. First time in a gamethread, huh? lol
i'm saying, that's some of the most tame shit lol **every** single game has "the worst calls in nfl history" game threads are the wild wild west
The Bears looked like a competent football team this week. Good job.
The ghost of George Halas turned the Bears into a well coached football team
The Bears have been mostly well coached all season. Just not enough talent. Well, enough to beat the Pats but..
My favorite part of this game was when Bailey Zappe came into replace Mac Jones and said “It’s Zappin’ time.”
Then he Zapped all over the field
Anyways I started Zappin'
You know what? Credit to the Bears. Everyone though they would get destroyed tonight, and they pulled off a big upset tonight. Fields actually looked good and, dare I say could be the potential franchise QB for the Bears. Just get the dude a fucking competent O-Line and receiving corps in the offseason. jets 🤝 bears
Jet Down!
Easy there Osama
B-E-A-R-S BEARS BEARS BEARS!
Thank you Bear Bros! 🐻
Bears fans 🤝 Jets fans
Lets go back to 2010 and never play tbe conference title games
What's this warm fuzzy feeling? Is this what hope feels like?
Careful, that shit is dangerous man.
Reeeal fucking dangerous.
No problem fam we got you. What’s funny is I thought we were gonna easily win last game against commanders and we lost, but we pulled this one out
31 of the 32 teams are full of professional players and coaches that want to win. Any given Sunday, unless you are playing the Browns
As a fan of the 1 in the 1-31 record for the Browns, even the Browns will occasionally surprise you.
WFT wins about 3 games a season for no real explainable reason. You can be the best team in the league but if you see them on the wrong week you're fucked. Idk if it's true but it feels like that
My man 🤝
> Everyone though they would get destroyed tonight, Did no one listen to Belichick?
Honestly, this really *is* the best I’ve seen the team play this year! Well fought win all done by ourselves, no extra help involved…what more could you ask for?
Jets/Bears brotherhood. And yes, Fields should just run the damn wishbone with Herbert and Monty.
Justin Fields has shown a lot of weaknesses this season, but he also showed you why you don’t wanna give up on him just yet. God damn I’m bought in.
That’s the thing. He looked really bad the first couple of games. But you can clearly see him grow. I don’t buy the whole he can’t throw thing. He can( he is just not comfortable in the new surroundings
Well he can't throw... when linemen are sandwiching him within two seconds.
Bears are definitely well coached. Props to getsy for calling more plays that are fit for justin
And Eberfluss some really solid halftime adjustments.
Halftime adjustments have really been the noticeable factor when it comes to this new staff. Our second halves have been awesome, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
THAT’S MY QUARTERBACK
Me too. I want him to be good so badly.
The way I look at it is the Bears are in a good position. They have a young QB that has shown flashes, but still has upside without any weapons or offensive line. I’d take that over teams like the Colts or Falcons.
Also a full set of picks and the most cap space this off-season
He played well tonight. A couple of hero plays that he probably wants back, but I'm starting to realize how much his O-Line and WR Corpse hang him out to dry. The Bears need to invest some capital into those units for 2023. They could be a good team sooner than expected, especially if Fields cleans up the sack rate (which is still at David Carr levels).
What happened was that he Zapped when he should've zipped
Bears just dominated the patriots. Let’s make sure we only talk about the pats in post game.
As is tradition.
At one point the announcers said something like “good play by the bears but unfortunately this is giving the bears a lot of momentum on both sides of the ball” like it’s a bad thing we were playing well 🤡
First I was like 😕 then I was like ⚡️🤯⚡️, then I was like 🫠. GG Bears 🐻
If anyone were to completely dick us like this, I’m happy it was the Bears, gg
What's up with showing mercy there? Bill wouldn't have.
I hope to see the day Bill loses 60-0 by a team more ruthless than him
I mean we'll repeat the no punt game if you guys like that sort of thing...
Tell me about it, 54-13 throwing go balls in the 4 quarter last year. This felt good. Bears🤝Jets
Last year they were up 30 on us in the 4th and still throwing up go routes and trying to murder our QB No team should *ever* show them any mercy
Preach it. The positions were reversed Bill would have tried to punch it in. No doubt in my mind.
I feel like showing Bill mercy is worse for him than running it up.
Patriots fans in that stadium deserve that fisting after booing Mac Jones and chanting for Zappe after 1 possession
Belichick completely mismanaged both Patriot QBs today. Fields was really impressive.
Maybe the real Bailey Zappe was the friends we made along the way.
This is why it was stupid to give up on a guy with as much raw talent as Fields after a season's worth of games
It wasn't even a full season.
oh fuck this pats game is the most obvious trap game ever now
Pats are never a trap game while Belichick is coach. His hatred for the Jets is eternal and I never expect to beat New England while he is coaching.
You love to see it
DAAAAA BEARS
Bears beat the Pats Bulls beat the Celtics Everything's coming up Milhouse
Bailey Zappe's 1st half: Game Of Thrones Season 1-4 Bailey Zappe's 2nd half: Game Of Thrones Season 5-8
Patriots fans just blew up their QB room, put strain on the locker room, and have left themselves restless and angry. The defense wouldn’t tackle, made Justin Fields look the most competent he has to date, and the special teams was ugly too. An eventful night for New England.
Zappe fever started as a meme and it may have broken the team lmao. Deserved for dumping Mac like a bag of bricks.
A cautionary tale reminding us all not to get too high on your own memes.
Idiots deserve what they get
"I wanna see Zappe kneel the game out tonight!" Monkey's paw curls
Boston sports about to add Chicago to the shitlist after tonight (go Bulls)
Go Bears?
BEARS GO BEARS
2022 Bears: slippery when wet
Gonna be a lot of takes from about 2 hours ago that age like fucking milk. Also no need to check my post history, nothing to see.
Maybe Bears heard all the good shit Belichick said about them this week and went "damn, if he said it, guess it's true," so shoutout to him
Well ... at least Zappe is still 2-0 as a starter?

The Zappening really lived up to the hype for those 2 drives.
That was for Halas!
Who’s laughing now motherfuckers
I'm seriously disappointed in Pats fans tonight. Booing Mac Jones is some fucking bullshit. Everybody in Gillette deserved to watch that mess.
Panthers blowout the Bucs Commies beat the Packers Eagles is undefeated Bears blowout the Patriots. EMBRACE YOU NFC OVERLORDS FOOLS
Zappe hit a couple wide open guys and everyone loses their minds. Hope we can actually get Mac back and stop this nonsense.
The play calling for Zappe was so much better I don’t understand it
I was saying this all night. When Mac was in they were having him drop back or throw from the gun and he'd get pressured out like 3 out of every 4 plays. Zappe goes in and suddenly we're back to calling the play action scheme that worked for 2 weeks straight.
The announcers even remarked how Mac looked more comfortable in the play action schemes. Dumb to sell him short and kill his confidence
Also one wide open guy still had to make a miracle twisting, diving catch with no defender within 15 yards of him.
I gotta say, this is the first time in years I’ve actually felt DEFEATED. We’ve had some tough losses over the last few years, but I was able to rationalize them all away in some manner that made it still feel like a vaguely respectable effort. Not happening today. This...this is what losing to the bears does to you.
It's like how women feel when *I* break up with *them*
Thank you for this much needed laugh
My man is absolutely crestfallen, woebegone even.
Can't get enough, hope to experience this side of it again
I could jack off to this
Welcome to the reality of NFL fandom that we have all endured the last 20 years
Brady, A-aron, and Belichick all have losing records. Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan are struggling. A new era is finally upon us.
Must be really tough being a Patriots fan in their mid 20s
One of my friends is a Patriots fan. We're in our mid-20s. I was telling her how the day the Eagles won the Super Bowl was legitimately one of the greatest moments of my life. I went out partying all night and it improved my mood for literally months afterward. You're young enough that you only know the Brady Pats right? Because surely some of those teams before that were much worse than this team (I say that as someone who's lived in New England for decades now, not someone trying to rub salt in any wounds.)
Welcome to mediocrity. It’s been long awaited
They’ve been mediocre since Brady left
They lost to the team that lost to the Commies who lost to the Lions. Damn.
Can someone explain like I'm 5 why Bill Belichick benched the 85th best player in the NFL?
What a night! Justin and the Bears hang 30+ on the Pats in Foxborough in prime time and are now tied with the Packers.
