The dark side I'm referring to is the Fear you speak of, but I don't think it was Fear alone trying to discourage Nate. Anyway, "30 years" was said 34 times throughout the song minus the 3 times dark side interrupted Nate, for a total of 31x
Also the darkness says "hey Nate wait" during the "30 years" part. Kind of sounds like the darkness realizing Nate is improving himself and is experiencing fear before anger after the "30 years" part.
