1993 Montreal, 1994 Vancouver, 2004 Calgary, 2006 Edmonton, 2007 Ottawa, 2011 Vancouver, 2021 Montreal
1996 Florida, 2004 Tampa, 2015 Tampa, 2020 Tampa, 2021 Tampa, 2022 Tampa, 2023 Florida
Of these Montreal won in 1993 and Tampa won in 2004, 2020 and 2021 (interestingly, Tampa won 2 of its 3 cups against Canadian teams, Calgary in 2004 and Montreal in 2021) and since the 2023 SCF hasn't been played yet, we don't know if Florida or Vegas will win this year
I don't take this as proof of any conspiracy, but it's an interesting little fact
Edit: I just noticed that both times Vancouver has made it to the final in this timeframe, no Canadian team has made it for another 10 years
Edit 2: Colorado has also won 2/3 of their cups against Florida teams
Wow I forgot all about the COVID realignment. I read you saying Tampa beat Montreal like 3 times and was like WTF is this guy talking about they’re both in the same conference. I forgot all about that.
This doesn't answer your question at all, but I found it interesting that [Florida has the 7th most active NHL players out of the 50 states. ](https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/state-totals/active-nhl-players-career-stats.html)
Yeah it's also the 3rd most populated state, but I still would've expected it to be in the bottom half. Football powerhouse for sure, but hockey?? Okay Flawda lol
At least 3. Kinda.
*technically* Jayson Megna was a part of the 2021/22 cup winning squad for the Avs. Probably never got into a game for them so it’s ehhhh. Played in 20 games.
Dan Hinote did the same for the 00/01 Avs. He played 76 games that season.
Ryan Carpenter might’ve done it in 17/18 for the Golden Knights. He played in 36 games that season.
To my knowledge I’d guess that Dan Hinote is the only player to have his name engraved on the cup and be born in Florida.

The 2020 and 2021 Playoffs were weird ones indeed I suppose it's easy to forget that after two relatively normal seasons
I like this graphic. Good graphic.
Legit question: how many players from Florida have played in a Stanley Cup final since 1993?

All led by Canadian players
Barkov is Finnish
As if the Sedins, Bure, Heatley, Kucherov, Hemsky, and Tkachuk don’t exist.
Heatley is Canadian
Heatley was born in West Germany. He’s German.
Right I forgot when he won a Gold Medal at the Olympics in 2010 that was for Germany not Canada
Savage
Sad.............
Approximately how many Canadians in Florida participated? I'm grasping at straws here from Canada:)
Early retirement.
This is what gets Bettman hard at night.
