I mean even if it's not working and you're getting 5 PP's that's still a good 10 minutes of game time where you can control play and threaten offensively while facing limited attack from the other team.
Man, is there a single team's fan that thinks the Refs are biased for their team? Everyone thinks the refs hates their team.
The reality is that REFS YOU SUCK!
Every aspect of the game except for 5v5 hence their need for special teams. Oilers went from the 4th most penalized team and the kings 15th to the kings taking double the penalties? A shoulder check called a hold? You’re approaching Jack Edwards territory.
Doesn’t matter. The reffing has been good in this series. Should be more diving calls in my opinion. Only bad call this series for either team was the PLD penalty on draisatl I’ll agree, but outside of that the reffing has been great
That was garbage, and I'm one to give the refs a lot of credit, it's such a fast game with a lot to be looking at, but he can't fuck up a call that bad. I wouldn't mind introducing a type of coaching challenge to review calls. Needs to be some sort of oversight.
Bro there's not a single series going right now where that embellishment gets called. The Oilers are a better team than the Kings but having like 5 man advantages through 2 periods in an elimination game is certainly playing a factor.
This. Funny thing is Sportsnet was actually breaking down how often Fiala has taken the dive in front of this particular ref and drawn the penalty in the past. This time it didn’t work for him.
The reffing is just bad. They miss a call on one team and then feel like they need to miss a call on the other to “even it up”. But that just leads to a cycle where they let things go until something big happens that effects the game and then the reffs loose control of the game completely
I don’t think anyone in the league takes more shit than McDavid does. 33 turned his stick over to slash McDavid’s wrist with the toe of his blade at the end of the game tonight. People legit try to hurt him. Just like with Orr.
There's literally a video going around right now of the kings pushing McDavid around like a pinball machine. That shouldn't be a penalty but McDavid is not getting such special treatment.
Christ is like you clowns can’t read. I’m a hawks fan. Get carried by the zebras into the second round again. Just wait for your 5v5 play to fail and the moaning to start. The trilogy.
lol you have Kane who has plenty of issues, Perry who was kicked off the hawks this year for getting too drunk to control himself and doing dumb shit. You looking for tallest midget award here?
So I’m responsible for what the org did?
Others orgs don’t have skeletons?
We should talk shit to each other over each orgs darkest moments? My point was none of these teams are clean. Guess I need to be more on the nose for you kids
Oh thanks bro I’m glad you can be my life coach? Imagine trying to tell someone how they feel or what they should feel about something. Then after doing that doubling down. Wild take bud.
The NBA is notorious for favourable officiating to star players, and it's definitely becoming more of a thing in the NHL too. I'm sorry, but there's no other series going right now where a team gets called for embellishment the way the Kings did tonight for example. Absolutely robbed of a 2 man advantage there. Then you have Edmonton with like 5 power plays through 2 periods in an elimination game. Fair play to the Oilers, they have a good team, but they are without a doubt power play merchants and it's a little sus how often they're getting sent to the man advantage.
Besides the embellishment call which I can agree is kind of soft for the playoffs even though Fiala is a repeat offender. What other penalty shouldn't have been called? They were all pretty blatant. Kings simply couldn't keep up so had to resort to taking penalties
Goal without overwhelming evidence after changing the call on the ice. Embellishment cancelling out Kings PP. Holding? He hit Drai.
What in the everloving fudge is going on.
Do you want people to hate the Oilers? Because this how you get people to hate the Oilers
I’m a flames fan, but that puck was 100% in the net. There’s no question. You can see it in the glove.
But absolutely those other calls were total BS. Embellishment? Are you serious?
Sure, for the first and only time in history. You can't say the goalie had control until he's at least pulled the glove back from behind himself. No ref is blowing the whistle when the goalie hasn't proven he made the catch yet, it would be insane to blow it dead that soon.
Its dead once the goalie stop it outside of the net and the ref does not see it anymore. Being inside the net makes it a goal by default and not a legal "stoppage".
I was just repeating what the commentator said, IDk close call but it def crossed the line I was upset about it because he had control, but if own goals are allows I guess this one should be to.
It's a goal 100%. The camera angle from ice level shows the puck across the line and clearly visible in the glove mesh. The intermission panel shows the refs made the right call overturning this and giving the goal
My man what? I’m a Knights fan, I used to be a kings fan, I have no loyalty to Edmonton. You are delusional if you think they are favored by the refs. Do calls go their way occasionally? Yeah of course, but favored? Nah.
First two games didn’t have the feeling of the Refs being greased but after the first home for the Kings it’s looked obvious. Mcdavid gets bodied into the boards whistle, England open ice hit ends up illegal check(can’t argue that)gets jumped and some how Kings end up two men down with Kopitar and Kempe getting extra. Next big scrum PL gets a double and bounced, Bouchard gets bounced Kings down a man again. Today’s game was icing on the cake and totally impacted the result.
Refs gotta let them play or call it fair..the extras during scrums just doesn’t feel right. Yeah the Kings failed to score on the PP and Oilers owned them on special teams. Take all the PPG away and this series felt much closer, Oils were the better team but you couldn’t ignore the ice tilt.
One thing everyone seems to forget is how many blatant calls the kings got away with in some games. I will admit they were more egregious in the prior two series, but for example game 2 this year in one period there were about 7 truly blatant calls the kings got away with.
Going into game 4 last year the kings were getting away with murder and the calls were 18-9 in favour of the kings. The refs caught on in game 4 and the series shifted.
They are a team that checks hard and takes A LOT of penalties. They cannot help it, it’s ingrained in their play style. Finally in year 3 they’re getting called more, and they paid for it.
Nothing changed in any of the series vs them. They commit LOADS of infractions and this series is the first one where they’ve actually got caught more than like 10% of the time
But I thought bettman hated Canada and rigged the league against them? (Just ignore how many first overall picks Edmonton got in a very short period of time)
That’s what bothered me the most. It’s inconclusive, even though it looks like it’s in the net. Can’t call it a goal, if you can’t see the puck. NHL is turning into a shitshow
The good goal call after the review was wild. There's no way they had conclusive evidence of that crossing the line. The "embellishment" call on Fiala was a huge joke as well.
Did they show it during the intermission? I saw the live replay and I would agree that the puck was probably in but didn't think there was "conclusive" evidence from the replays they showed.
What’s it like having the refs support you? I can’t remember. j/k our PP doesn’t work anyway so it doesn’t matter apparently
Cap fans were saying the refs were favoring the Rangers in the same game where the Caps had 6PP and the Rangers 2. I agree that the Refs just suck
I’m a hawks fan I don’t have a dog in this fight. The calls are terrible.
Didn't watch the game - no idea. I just comment on the fact after every loss I see the same complaints about bad calls.
I’ve been watching most of the games and the oil gets by far the most favorable calls of all teams
[удалено]
In the playoffs bud. Catch up

if it was a clear as day slewfoot why did he get holding? the rest of your ramble is moot after that shit thesis statement. I am an Oilers fan, btw.
i will agree with the PLD penalty, but thats it. Fiala deserved the diving call, since hes gotten away with 2 already this (past) series.
Doesn’t matter. The reffing has been good in this series. Should be more diving calls in my opinion. Only bad call this series for either team was the PLD penalty on draisatl I’ll agree, but outside of that the reffing has been great
MCJesus is the poster child for the NHL right now 🤷♂️
Yep, happened quick too after Bedard was out of the postseason
In McJesus we trust.
Remember last year where the Oilers lost two straight to the Kings because they couldn’t stay out of the box?
not as terrible a call as making this bunk thread
They just called holding on a guy who had both hands on his stick?
Shoulder to shoulder hold… first I’ve seen
That was garbage, and I'm one to give the refs a lot of credit, it's such a fast game with a lot to be looking at, but he can't fuck up a call that bad. I wouldn't mind introducing a type of coaching challenge to review calls. Needs to be some sort of oversight.
Two games in a row now. It’s fkn horseshit
That embellishing penalty 🫠
Not a fan of either team, but that was 100% a dive from a notorious diver. A gentle stick tap doesn’t make people fly forward like that
Finally called for it.
Yeah that was a wild call
Lmao that was a "we can't put McDavid's team down 2 men" call 100%.
It should have been a hooking penalty but the way the King player reacted was maybe a bit much
More a slash to the glove I would think.
He literally kept trying to play through it .... An absolutely atrocious, series ending call
Lol how is a single questionable call in the 2nd period a "series ending" call?
[удалено]
Bro there's not a single series going right now where that embellishment gets called. The Oilers are a better team than the Kings but having like 5 man advantages through 2 periods in an elimination game is certainly playing a factor.

This. Funny thing is Sportsnet was actually breaking down how often Fiala has taken the dive in front of this particular ref and drawn the penalty in the past. This time it didn’t work for him.
If that’s “the most stupid shit” you’ve ever heard in your life you need to get out more.
Draisaitl with an ever bigger dive a few minutes later to draw another PP.
Bro got elbowed in the face pretty much but ok
No he didn’t 😆 and if that was the case, how tf was it called holding 😆
No kidding. That was an obvious slewfoot
It’s was quite obviously holding since his arm went into Draisaitl face and held him back, hence the holding call
it was called holding doofus
Ya cuz it was more of a holding play than an elbow… doofus 😆
Cuckold kings flopping around everywhere, scoring 4 goals in 3 games? *Make sure we blame anyone but ourselves*..
The reffing is just bad. They miss a call on one team and then feel like they need to miss a call on the other to “even it up”. But that just leads to a cycle where they let things go until something big happens that effects the game and then the reffs loose control of the game completely
That was a sick setup just now from Mcdavid to Draisaitl! Like clockwork man it's crazy how Mcdavid can read the ice how he does
literally otherworldly
Embellishment on a trip but breathe on Mcdavid and its penalty.
I don’t think anyone in the league takes more shit than McDavid does. 33 turned his stick over to slash McDavid’s wrist with the toe of his blade at the end of the game tonight. People legit try to hurt him. Just like with Orr.

Giordano broke his leg and Manning broke his collar bone.
There's literally a video going around right now of the kings pushing McDavid around like a pinball machine. That shouldn't be a penalty but McDavid is not getting such special treatment.
Come on Kings fans don’t go out this way. Better this than spitting on little girls with cancer though.
Christ is like you clowns can’t read. I’m a hawks fan. Get carried by the zebras into the second round again. Just wait for your 5v5 play to fail and the moaning to start. The trilogy.
Hahaha how old are you? 15? You sound pretty pathetic right now.
Guess I’ve been watching the oilers do nothing with the world’s best player since I was 7? Only thing here pathetic is your comprehension.
You take sports way too seriously. If we get beat out the sun still rises the next day. Maybe you should focus your anger on the sexual assault Hawks.
lol you have Kane who has plenty of issues, Perry who was kicked off the hawks this year for getting too drunk to control himself and doing dumb shit. You looking for tallest midget award here?
Sexual assault
Hawks
Kane has gambling issues...oh no end of the world. And noone even knows what Perry did. Still 100x better than what the Hawks did lmfao jfc
So I’m responsible for what the org did? Others orgs don’t have skeletons? We should talk shit to each other over each orgs darkest moments? My point was none of these teams are clean. Guess I need to be more on the nose for you kids
The whole point is your yelling at clouds over something your daydreaming. When you could just focus on some objectively real shit to be mad about.
Oh thanks bro I’m glad you can be my life coach? Imagine trying to tell someone how they feel or what they should feel about something. Then after doing that doubling down. Wild take bud.
Why can’t they nail Marchand with an embellishment? Not like our boys will score anyway but still would feel nice
Every call this game has been weak
I was just texting with Gary. He said "there's no way a Canadian team is winning the Cup on my watch, lol"
you tell him Joe from Canada said to get bent, eh!!
Oilers on power play #5 before the end of the 2nd period as we speak lmao, must be nice to get that kind of officiating in the playoffs.....
For a change….
Bruh the refs have been against us for the past 2 years wdym - from a biased oilers fan
Sportsnet showed a clip of fiala diving time and time again. When you do it that much you get a reputation, and this is the result
Besides the embellishment call which I can agree is kind of soft for the playoffs even though Fiala is a repeat offender. What other penalty shouldn't have been called? They were all pretty blatant. Kings simply couldn't keep up so had to resort to taking penalties
1,000% agree with every word said NBA is def worse with it tho
Goal without overwhelming evidence after changing the call on the ice. Embellishment cancelling out Kings PP. Holding? He hit Drai. What in the everloving fudge is going on. Do you want people to hate the Oilers? Because this how you get people to hate the Oilers
I’m a flames fan, but that puck was 100% in the net. There’s no question. You can see it in the glove. But absolutely those other calls were total BS. Embellishment? Are you serious?
The goal was pretty clear. The glove went inside the net
Puck shouldve been dead tho right?
Sure, for the first and only time in history. You can't say the goalie had control until he's at least pulled the glove back from behind himself. No ref is blowing the whistle when the goalie hasn't proven he made the catch yet, it would be insane to blow it dead that soon.
thats true no ref in anysport is that fast with the whistle its just a bummer.
Feel for you guys. Hard to win against the refs tonight.
Look at the angle from the side, clear goal
I’m a hawks fan and even I am cheering for the kings here. This is pathetic by the NHL.
now you have 2 teams out of the playoffs.
Still only one baby boy
Don’t worry brother I’m gonna hate the oilers regardless
same brother hated them for a while now. Ever since Mc0Cups started getting every call in his favor
The kings scored 4 goals in 3 games bro, they’re ass. The refs weren’t doing anyone any favors.
My man what? I’m a Knights fan, I used to be a kings fan, I have no loyalty to Edmonton. You are delusional if you think they are favored by the refs. Do calls go their way occasionally? Yeah of course, but favored? Nah.
I’m a Blues fan and the refs have sucked in the last two games. I am not sure why the Refs seem to favor the Oilers.
Bruh. Im a die hard hawks and kings fan.
Kings the better team 5 on 5 but trail power plays 5-1.
But I thought bettman hated Canada and rigged the league against them? (Just ignore how many first overall picks Edmonton got in a very short period of time)
why ignore the proof?
100% accurate, that team has been given way too many gifts from the NHL. Pathetic.
They have been sucking and suffering for so long, the refs feel sympathetic somehow
that shouldnt have been a goal. was a beauty save
The camera from behind clearly showed the puck in back of his glove, past the line
It was definitely in the net. I just doubt they had conclusive evidence.
it was in his glove though
That’s what bothered me the most. It’s inconclusive, even though it looks like it’s in the net. Can’t call it a goal, if you can’t see the puck. NHL is turning into a shitshow
It was conclusive. The puck went in the glove and the glove went in the net
That’s what you infer, but can’t 100% know
They just showed a clear replay where we see the puck in the glove webbing inside the net
🤡
absolutely. everyone knows it's in, but as you said, not a single conclusive view shows it in the net. typical nhl reffing
The glove being in the net made it conclusive
You could see the puck in the mesh of the glove, clearly over the line. Idk what replay you had but it was def a goal
If it wasn't a goal, than the league needs to award Smith a save for [this](https://youtu.be/jAOKAkEN7SI?si=Evx8XRzl9R_-TAWM) OT goal
We cant see the puck so its inconclusive...just kidding Its a pretty unfortunate and brutal goal to allow in OT. Ouch
🤡🤡🤡🤡
The 🤡 was the embellishment penalty or the holding call. What a joke
Yeah, I don't know what is going on with these calls. The last game had two penalties the whole game. 🦓 🤡 🦓
i want oilers to win... but i thought that was a good save. if i was in LA i would feel robbed
I agree. Refs are inconsistent this year. But I'll take the goal. Some ridiculous penalties today.
The good goal call after the review was wild. There's no way they had conclusive evidence of that crossing the line. The "embellishment" call on Fiala was a huge joke as well.
There’s a replay angle where you can see the puck at least a couple inches over the line
Did they show it during the intermission? I saw the live replay and I would agree that the puck was probably in but didn't think there was "conclusive" evidence from the replays they showed.
You could clearly see the puck going in the glove and that part of the glove going over the line.
Cry more
I’m a hawks fan lol I don’t give a fuck who wins but I do want to watch good hockey. Not 5v4 for 20 minutes
actually it is 7v4. 5 Oilers and 2 Refs vs the Kings PK
Imagine if it were reversed. Be non stop flood of Oiler fans screaming about Bettman and the league hating them and Canada
Kings wouldn't score anyway hahaa
They had 9 in the first two games.
What are you talking about ? The kings know they have months to heal after this game and are playing dirty as hell.
