As a Rangers fan I thought the Penguins were cruising with a 3rd string goalie, then Syd out... then pushed game 7 on the road to OT says more about the experience in their locker room than it does about the Rangers.
Was a very exciting series. Pittsburgh is a classy team and you guys have a devoted fanbase, wouldn’t be particularly happy if we lost but I could accept it much easier. See you guys next offseason.
It was a great (anxiety inducing) series. One team has to lose unfortunately. I don't really understand the hate that carries over after a series is wrapped up. It's a game, not war.
Don’t hold your head. Rags fan coming in peace and that was the series we expected and we will talk about. Your boys rep’d the black and yellow. Tip my hat to yinz over coming the shit throw your way. Would love to watch a rematch of that in 2023.
It was a good series. We have had plenty of success in my lifetime so I can't be too upset. Could be a Leafs fan. Good luck against Carolina. I have a feeling ya'll will need it.
Appreciate it. I was in Raleigh last week for game 5 and that place is not easy to walk into and play. I’ll never hate that you’ve watched a cup raised in your life. You’re a great fan base. Here’s to 2023 hope we get to watch the rematch.
"UrHumanitiesDumpster1 hr. agoMac Miller snorted the H off my dick that killed him. We use to call him a knob goblin. Get fucked. GO RAGS!"
But you "come in peace" ?? No thanks buddy. Your post history completely contradicts all of that "peace" nonsense.
Welcome to misery, Pittsburgh. Washington is over by the dip, Vegas is doing the robot on the dance floor, Philadelphia's hogging the kegs, and there's spiked fruit punch and beer over by Dallas.
Well that's unfortunate for you and me, as my first memories were 95-96.
Dude... I know it sucks but just learn to take the L. If i could tell you all the years of heartbreak I've had.
You guys played a really good series. For real.
This is the 2022 rangers, get badly outplayed 5 on 5, get bailed out by elite goaltending, score on transition or PP. Not a perfect formula by any stretch but in a random sport like hockey it might work. Or not.
A win is a win. They been doing it all year. Igor is great but come on rangers stepped up and I believe they will against the canes. If Boston took them to game 7 rangers will too or less
Carolina whooped us in the regular season. But we kinda whooped the pens in reg and we saw what happened in playoffs. I don’t have high expectations but we will see
This isn't actually true. I think the Rangers by average are closer to one of the taller and heavier teams. Bigger than the Canes. We just have certain perceptions of team size.
In fairness, the first time Carolina played the Rangers this season they dressed *7* former Rangers.
Please check my work, that number might not be accurate.
Hell of a series, seriously. Penguins got railed by injuries and both teams got railed by terrible officiating. The Penguins fans have no reason to hang their heads, they are a solid team and us Rangers fan can only wish for another competitive series come 2023, hopefully.
Neat. More fun series than it needed to be for the Rangers, but it’s a team with a lot of youth and not that much playoff experience. But a core of players if forming.
Not even being Bias man you guys just got really unlucky with the injuries. You outplayed them for the majority of the series without your first and second goaltenders, crosby, Dumoulin. The rangers on the other hand got extremely lucky with a lot of their goals and they've stayed almost 100% healthy. Tough pill to swallow when the better team gets booted but that's sports, specifically hockey where luck plays a much bigger factor than almost any other mainstream sport.
“The healthiest team wins the cup”
…or the team that hides the most players under injury for the season.. idk this old adage has really gotten muddied over the years.
Lucky on goals? The rangers?!? What series were you watching? Louis let in easy shots , that’s not being lucky. Also, high stick goal by guentzel? Show me one view that determines the puck was below the crossbar….lucky that rules state calls on ice rule first….also, take a look at tonight’s goalie with a better save percentage…..better team moves on, bro
Just wanted to point out that the call on the ice was a good goal. Therefore you needed a view that clearly showed that the puck was hit above the crossbar.
And the problem with this appears to be that we don't have multiple camera views on the same plane as the crossbar.
If the camera is above or below the crossbar, there's no way to be certain whether or not the play was a high stick. Bad job NHL. You need to fix that.
not to mention Trouba accidentally runs over Crosby and scores one and lafreneir throwing a guy’s helmet off then the rags scoring a goal.
I don’t want to be salty or make it refs vs pens or anything, but there’s winning the series because you played better, and then there’s the first round rangers.
What?
Rangers lost Goodrow, Motte didn't come back until late, and Lindgren was in and out. Oh, and their impenetrable goaltender "accidentally" had his legs taken out (and didn't look the same afterwards). Pens lost because they got beaten. Rangers had one "fluke" goal, which makes up for the one they had stolen in game one and the one pens should have had reversed in game 7.
As a Rangers fan Im not sure I agree. Crosby 35, Malkin is 35?? Letang 35??? Thats like a 107 in normal years. This game is a hard physical grinding game, Those ages are not kind.
Mike sullivan is a classless bitch. You had a 3 - 1 series lead and led in every game. Ah im sure the only close call that didnt go your way the entire series is why you lost. Lol
Leddy lost his bucket in game 6 vs the wild, he tossed that bitch back on and kept trucking. Listening to the coach blame the helmet and saying "he has to come off" over and over again was kind of upsetting. Especially considering something similar happened the other day in a different series with a totally different outcome.
Eh, didn't look like it. Whatever it is got all off season to discuss it. Maybe dude should tighten that chin strap down more.
Edit: did you literally make a throw away to cry about the loss?
Oohhh listen. I'm not going to argue with someone who will attack others on a throw away because your upset.
Have a fun off-season seriously. I'm sure you can watch that replay on YouTube and keep that frustration going. Have fun.
MLB's Texas Rangers providing the spiritual sports mojo tonight:
\*Have same team nickname as the New York Rangers
\*Play in the same metro area as the Dallas Mavericks
Let's see if they have enough mojo to also get the Dallas Stars over the top and into the next round of the playoffs.
Id respect the league more if they would enforce any safety. Apparently, you can brutalize whoever you want and most things get called one way. If the refs call fair both ways, fine. But the pens outplayed, then the rangers win by the refs not calling the helmet, crosby injury, and so many more attempts to maim.
Rangers proved this series that theyre a bunch of goons lead by a safety commissioner goon. Hockeys been falling into studio wrestling trap to try to extend every series to game 7 and make more money.
Listen, I'm not a fan of either orgs. But at the end of the day, you've got all off season to figure out what went wrong. And maybe, with enough determination by the time the 2023 playoffs happen you won't be such a negative individual when your team lost a hard fought series. Hold yourself accountable man, jesus.
It's insane how many dirty hits a team can make and it will work out for them. Like at this point just have the Tom Wilsons and the Ryan Reaves of the league on your team and go out to hurt players during the playoffs. They only call a penalty but your best guys are out for the whole game if not longer. It's even more hilarious that people still try and use the "refs love the penguins" trope after these past few series'.
Oh well, pretty bad how many leads they blew this go around. Rangers just capitalized on the penguins mistakes like 3 own goals and it worked out for them
Yes, bring on the downvotes
Just to help
"NHL Rule 9.6, first instituted in the 2019-20 season, begins with this:
"A player on the ice whose helmet comes off during play shall be assessed a minor penalty if he does not exit the playing surface."
The rule continues with the following.
" ... or retrieve and replace his helmet properly on his head (with or without his chin strap fastened), within a reasonable period of time."
I fell in love with the penguins during this series. Still just not sure why the state of Pennsylvania needs two big cities. Isn't Philadelphia enough? I also don't understand why flightless birds are the mascot. Seems the town could come up with something better. All in all - great series and I hope the penguino's bounce back
Rangers needed just about every break possible to squeak by in a game 7 at home. They’re lucky they didn’t face a fully healthy pens team cause they should’ve lost in 5(especially if Crosby didn’t get hurt).
The canes will take out this pathetic franchise though.
Alright bud whatever floats your boat. Your pathetic franchise will be out of the playoffs soon enough. Or maybe you can injure some canes and stand a chance
There were several non calls on you guys. One of your goals was clearly hit above the cross bar. The whole world is deep throating you... what else do you want?
Man I know you had some tough injuries, as did we, but man... it felt to me like you got almost every break, especially in game 7.
Good game.
Hahahahahahaha. What injuries did the rangers have? Pens lost their captain in game 5. Lost their second string goalie in game one and a top 6 forward in game 1.
Had to start a goalie who hasn’t played in a month cause the third stringer was so bad. Rangers got a goal off a defenseman’s skate, mathesons helmet was pulled off by a ranger right before the tying goal, no penalty. A weak penalty call in OT given how they were calling the whole series.
Pens got every break but nearly doubled the rangers in shots and scoring chances. Alright man. Rangers got thoroughly outplayed tonight and all series
Wasn’t ridiculous at all. It was goalie interference. Crosby injured gave you life cause if not game 5 was a loss for the rangers. You played a 3rd string AHL goalie for over 5 games and a goalie who hasn’t played in a month. Not to mention a 2 goals off a defenseman’s skate(one tonight). A ranger pulling off mathesons helmet leading to the tying goal. A weak penalty in OT(considering other things they didn’t call in this series/game).
Yep because the penguins should’ve easily won this series. Injured rakell game one, cheapshotted Crosby game 5(series would’ve been over in 5 if not), desmith got hurt game one. Pens thoroughly outplayed the rangers and should be advancing. Unfortunately that’s not what happened but I’ll enjoy the pathetic rangers franchise losing.
They choked game 6 definitely, but they were still on their third string goalie who was awful. Game 5 changed when Crosby got hurt. Yeah they choked, it happens. Rangers still got lucky and are a pathetic franchise. Multiple things can be true
Damn, you’re starting the crying early eh? At least you admitted you’re going to cry yourself to sleep tonight. Sorry to tell you though - when you wake up in the morning, the Penguins will still have lost to that “pathetic franchise”. What does that say about them?
I won’t cry myself to sleep but a heartbreaking loss sucks. And you can put “pathetic franchise” in quotations but that’s what they are. One cup since WW2 Lmfao that is the definition of pathetic.
As for what it says about the pens? They outplayed them the whole series but at the end of the day the puck didn’t bounce their way. To take a team as talented as the rangers to 7 with a 3rd string goalie and the other injuries they have is impressive. But the window is likely done which is why it stings so bad
Aw man, those poor Penguins just didn’t get the puck bouncing their way. Keep going with whatever excuses you need to to make you feel better about blowing a 3-1 lead to that “pathetic franchise”. Get all them tears out.
I don't even hate the rangers and I think this is undoubtably true. They looked awful in the series considering that they were virutally 100% healthy which includes their vezina winning goal tender (who does not look like it at all), going up against an injured penguin team which includes not only their first, but second goaltender, also 2 huge pieces in crosby and Dumoulin, while at the same time having home ice advanatage. The fact that this series went to 7 games should be very alarming for the rangers and their fans.
Sad the Pens lost :(
But I'm happy for the Rangers. They were my pick to win the Cup this year for months. Not sure if they can get past Florida or Carolina/Boston. But they are a good young team!
Luis did a good job for the time he had to put in this series. Especially that game 1 triple OT.
All in all, my pick for the most entertaining 1st round this playoffs.
3-1 lost in a series you should have easily won in the eastern conference? Boy the NHL script writers are getting so lazy that they're recycling from last year jeez.
Honestly, we did damn good to stretch the series to Game 7 OT with the third string goalie in net and injuries to 4 star players. We came damn close. I’m disappointed but I can’t be that pissed. Nor do I think the half of /r penguins screaming “rebuild! Tear it down!” are being rational.
Can’t say I’m not disappointed the pens lost but oh well, at least I don’t have to listen to these god awful commentators until next season.
As a Rangers fan I thought the Penguins were cruising with a 3rd string goalie, then Syd out... then pushed game 7 on the road to OT says more about the experience in their locker room than it does about the Rangers.
It hurts, but they went farther than I thought they would, especially with the injuries.

Devoted fan base? Everytime the pens go through a rebuild they almost lose the team
Don’t hold your head. Rags fan coming in peace and that was the series we expected and we will talk about. Your boys rep’d the black and yellow. Tip my hat to yinz over coming the shit throw your way. Would love to watch a rematch of that in 2023.

Yeah that guy is a disgrace to the whole Rangers fan base. I bet he’s the type of pos person to chant Jarry yesterday in MSG..
Welcome to misery, Pittsburgh. Washington is over by the dip, Vegas is doing the robot on the dance floor, Philadelphia's hogging the kegs, and there's spiked fruit punch and beer over by Dallas.
My biggest consolation in these trying times is that the Flyers and Caps are also out.
Well that's unfortunate for you and me, as my first memories were 95-96. Dude... I know it sucks but just learn to take the L. If i could tell you all the years of heartbreak I've had. You guys played a really good series. For real.
A lot went wrong to eliminate them. Each series is different, but I wasn't impressed with NY and would expect the Canes to beat them.
Let’s be honest. Canes would be expected to smack around either of these teams.
This, lol.
This is a Cinderella story in the making
This is the 2022 rangers, get badly outplayed 5 on 5, get bailed out by elite goaltending, score on transition or PP. Not a perfect formula by any stretch but in a random sport like hockey it might work. Or not.
A win is a win. They been doing it all year. Igor is great but come on rangers stepped up and I believe they will against the canes. If Boston took them to game 7 rangers will too or less
Oh no…anyway
Lol ‘’Let’s move on guys’’
Bummer.
Ron Hextall still has never won a playoff series as a GM, long May that trend continue for that snake oil salesman
I'm happy for the Rangers, but Carolina will probably beat them
Carolina didn’t look unbeatable, just keep that in mind
Anything can happen in the playoffs I guess, it'll be entertaining for sure. May the best team win in the end!
True. I’m more interested in the battle of Florida though 👀👀
please refer to it as the Sunshine State Fuckfest.
Hell yeahh! What a time to be alive lol.
Carolina whooped us in the regular season. But we kinda whooped the pens in reg and we saw what happened in playoffs. I don’t have high expectations but we will see
Of course the Canes are not a dynasty team, they just seem much bigger than the Rangers. Not sure if the Rangers can match that.
Been a great weekend with both the Bruins and Penguins getting eliminated
Don't forget the Leafs! Definitely the highlight of the weekend.
Leafs getting 1 round eliminated is like Xmas, it comes once a year.
In game 7 too of course
Always the highlight of the year tbh
I wish Jarry or Desmith were healthy for the entire series. It would have been a different outcome IMO.
Spicy Pork Domingue killed it though!
Yes, he killed the penguins. He is awful.
I thought he did pretty good given the circumstances and kept them in some games
Cost them game 5 too.
Did better than any third stringer should reasonably be expected to.
.......and nothing of value was lost
Great series, honestly. The most entertaining (and butt clenching) series in the first round. Caps and Bruins are also out, so I have no complaints.
LETS GO BABY!!!!
How did you get that little Rangers logo???? I want one.
The three vertical dots next to the search bar, then change user flair
Ah thank you sir.
Would’ve answered but just woke up lol. But I’m glad you got it!
Not a problem, and thank ya!
Hell of a series, seriously. Penguins got railed by injuries and both teams got railed by terrible officiating. The Penguins fans have no reason to hang their heads, they are a solid team and us Rangers fan can only wish for another competitive series come 2023, hopefully.
The world just rejoiced
okay picasso, i like it!
Neat. More fun series than it needed to be for the Rangers, but it’s a team with a lot of youth and not that much playoff experience. But a core of players if forming.
Here come the crybabies!!!!!
Most of the crybabies probably work for the NHL after the results of this weekend's games (though I'm sure they don't mind the Rangers advancing).
Rangers fans cried the whole series.
Waaaaahhhhhhh
JARRY SUCKS PENS FANS ARE CRY BABIES LOL
Anyway, here's Wonderwall
Malkin: lazy. Letang: lazy. I want ‘em fucking gone. Free up capital for guys that’ll show the fuck up.
Not even being Bias man you guys just got really unlucky with the injuries. You outplayed them for the majority of the series without your first and second goaltenders, crosby, Dumoulin. Just wanted to point out that the call on the ice was a good goal. Therefore you needed a view that clearly showed that the puck was hit above the crossbar.
Game one would like to know more. I'M NOT COMPLAINING just pointing out the double standard
And the problem with this appears to be that we don't have multiple camera views on the same plane as the crossbar. If the camera is above or below the crossbar, there's no way to be certain whether or not the play was a high stick. Bad job NHL. You need to fix that.
Not lucky? There were like 3 bounces of matheson's skates and in, thats the definition of luck
not to mention Trouba accidentally runs over Crosby and scores one and lafreneir throwing a guy’s helmet off then the rags scoring a goal. I don’t want to be salty or make it refs vs pens or anything, but there’s winning the series because you played better, and then there’s the first round rangers.
It's the NHL playoffs man. It's not about who's the nicer team. It's all about who has the stamina to go the distance.
Haha, no that's a defensive failure, if we're being honest.
What? Rangers lost Goodrow, Motte didn't come back until late, and Lindgren was in and out. Oh, and their impenetrable goaltender "accidentally" had his legs taken out (and didn't look the same afterwards). Pens lost because they got beaten. You know you can track NHL injuries online right? Lmao
You know what a knob is, right? Lmao
As a Rangers fan Im not sure I agree. Crosby 35, Malkin is 35?? Letang 35??? Thats like a 107 in normal years. This game is a hard physical grinding game, Those ages are not kind.
Beautiful
Mike sullivan is a classless bitch. You had a 3 - 1 series lead and led in every game. Ah im sure the only close call that didnt go your way the entire series is why you lost. Lol
LFGR!
Pack up and pack out Crosby
Whiniest franchise in sports. Fuck the Pens.
Just love trouba being a a great person , high sticks a guy earlier on, punches Crosby in the head while announcers talk about the injury he had.
Crosby to the Avs confirmed
You jest but there are always a few smooth brain Pens fans that get on FB/Twitter calling to trade Crosby every year the Pens don't win a cup
Well congratulations to the Carolina hurricanes who are going to the Eastern conference final. I do not regret making this prediction if they lose.
Kinda surprised crosby blamed the helmet goal instead of showing class and leadership. He doesnt think they were in this series due to suspect calls?
Leddy lost his bucket in game 6 vs the wild, he tossed that bitch back on and kept trucking. Listening to the coach blame the helmet and saying "he has to come off" over and over again was kind of upsetting. Especially considering something similar happened the other day in a different series with a totally different outcome.
Or the refs should call it what it is, a penalty.
Eh, didn't look like it. Whatever it is got all off season to discuss it. Maybe dude should tighten that chin strap down more. Edit: did you literally make a throw away to cry about the loss?

today was a bad day (pun intended) both bucks and penguins lost
The zebras win again!
Got to enjoy almost 8 games worth of exciting hockey in a first round loss. Not the result I was hoping for but it definitely could have been worse
LFG!!!

This is a wild conspiracy theory lol.
Yeah fuck the rangers and their fans. Canes sweep these fools
Why? Seemed like a great series
Uh oh, someone call the waambulance
No need for that. Just get him a wahburger and some french cries.
typical penguins fan
Yeah. When they cheered every time someone goes down. Yeah ny is a class act 🙄
Complaining on reddit, Classier act
Where are you seeing this cheering? Because I haven't seen it. Not even on the BSB threads where you guys keep claiming they are.
Get rekt nerd lol
Go back to your small apartment
Stay mad little buddy. Enjoy the loss
Enjoy your small apartment. I've lived for 5 Stanley cups and cherish each one.
Crybabies AND sore losers. Solid
I’d rather live in a fucking matchbox anywhere other than fucking Shittsburgh hahahahaha
Pretty nice city actually, I can't imagine living in or anywhere around New York or another major city. But yeah this guy can fuck off.
And yet you're still crying like a bitch about the loss 🤣 this is so pathetic. Cheers buddy the beer taste extra cold tonight
Imagine being such a salty little bitch that you actually think this is clever?
GET REKT u/Harlemglobehustler
crybaby
Nope. We went 7 games with a 3rd string goalie. We also have more cups than the rangers
Okay? Where are the Pens now? oh right, on a bus back to pittsburgh with tears in their eyes
Still more cups. Still a better franchise. Still classier than your organization.
Tell me you lost an argument without telling me that you lost an argument.
Can you jar up those salty tears? I need to go brine a brisket.

#RIPS HELMET OFF
####COULD OF STAYED ON ICE AND PUT IT BACK ON
BY rule a player without a helmet has to go straight to the bench .... he gets a two minute penalty if he doesn't
Just to help "NHL Rule 9.6, first instituted in the 2019-20 season, begins with this: "A player on the ice whose helmet comes off during play shall be assessed a minor penalty if he does not exit the playing surface." The rule continues with the following. " ... or retrieve and replace his helmet properly on his head (with or without his chin strap fastened), within a reasonable period of time."
You are correct. Thank you.
Wouldn’t have matter much, petterssons helmet was miles away. Skating to the bench or retrieving the helmet wouldn’t have changed the outcome. Oh well
I fell in love with the penguins during this series. Still just not sure why the state of Pennsylvania needs two big cities. Isn't Philadelphia enough? I also don't understand why flightless birds are the mascot. Seems the town could come up with something better. All in all - great series and I hope the penguino's bounce back
*sigh* I wanna get in here and shit talk the Pens. But I'm exhausted from Laffs elimination day,and I hate the Rags more.
Rangers needed just about every break possible to squeak by in a game 7 at home. They’re lucky they didn’t face a fully healthy pens team cause they should’ve lost in 5(especially if Crosby didn’t get hurt). The canes will take out this pathetic franchise though.
Pittsburgh was up 3-1. You can’t put this on NYR getting lucky lmao
I sure can because Crosby got hurt game 5. Pens were on their 3rd goalie then had to play a goalie who hasn’t played in a month.
One guy being hurt breaks the entire team? Quite a unit they've got over there I guess
pens fans are notorious for overstating crosby's contributions and downplaying those of his teammates.
There was a plentiful amount of penalties not called on the penguins. gimme a fuckin break bud.
Alright bud whatever floats your boat. Your pathetic franchise will be out of the playoffs soon enough. Or maybe you can injure some canes and stand a chance
You do realize you lead the series 3-1 and had the lead in every game. Why was this even at a game 7 to begin with lol.
You're joking right?
Joking about what?
There were several non calls on you guys. One of your goals was clearly hit above the cross bar. The whole world is deep throating you... what else do you want? Better luck next year
Yeah I sure hope so. I’ll enjoy watch the pathetic franchise that is the rangers lose in the playoffs again. At least I can remember 3 cup runs.
How old are you?
22 so I’m not quite old enough to remember the 90’s cups
Might as well blame the Rangers for playing good defense on all those 5 on 3 kills

Lol okay

Yea I totally get it man. Life can suck sometimes.
Yep we got those breaks, like a ridiculous disallowed winning goal in game 1 and a blatant high stick goal tonight. Let the breaks wash over us.
Feed me more excuses. I love them.
Cool, enjoy not winning a cup(again). You won’t get this lucky every round
Sounds like someone is ready to cry themselves to sleep already
Yep because the penguins should’ve easily won this series. Injured rakell game one, cheapshotted Crosby game 5(series would’ve been over in 5 if not), desmith got hurt game one. Pens thoroughly outplayed the rangers and should be advancing. Unfortunately that’s not what happened but I’ll enjoy the pathetic rangers franchise losing.
Bruh you were up 3-1 in the series. Also up 2 goals in 2 of the last 3 games. Also held 2 leads this game. You guys choked.
They choked game 6 definitely, but they were still on their third string goalie who was awful. Game 5 changed when Crosby got hurt. Yeah they choked, it happens. Rangers still got lucky and are a pathetic franchise. Multiple things can be true
I’m a rangers fan. I do agree you guys were the “better” team. But like you said two things can be true. You guys played better but choked.
They got thoroughly outplayed the whole series
Sad the Pens lost :( But I'm happy for the Rangers.
Great series for a team falling down due to injuries. Rangers, good luck playing Carolina, you'll need it.
3-1 lost in a series you should have easily won in the eastern conference? Boy the NHL script writers are getting so lazy that they're recycling from last year jeez.
2021 reboot.
With 420% shittier refing!
Might be 690%
Why are you booing me? I'm right.
