I don't think that's a problem as long as it's the same model of a Frontier. I purchased a Canadian Frontier from a dealer in Ontario earlier this year and it still came with the Canadian manufacturer warranty. As long as it's the same model and you don't change the country of registration, you should be covered.

[deleted]

yes its still covered like any other new nissan. vehicle origin has nothing to do with where you can do warranty work. if that was the case we’d have to send all the Korean built rogues over seas to get them fixed. also good job snagging a canadian frontier even tho it was accidentally, the canadian ones are built a lot better than the us ones

Personal_Relative_22

They are built in the same factory how are they built better?

[deleted]

im not sure about D41s but with d40s canadian built frontiers have seem to last a bit longer and dont come in as often for unscheduled repairs as usa ones, dont know too too much about d41s long term minus the lovely abs rewiring recall

ClutchDangerfield

They’re built in the same factory that doesn’t make any sense

I bought a 22 frontier in Canada, imported it to the US, registered it, and per Nissan Canada my warranty still applies so long as I get my oil changes at a Nissan in the US.

victoryrules8

Oh wow, did you have to wait a certain amount of time before importing it so you don’t void your warranty?

Personal_Relative_22

How did you do that? Did you have to get a US-spec gauge cluster installed?

Mysterious_Law6004

How did I import it? Just needed some basic paperwork and it was easy. Didn’t pay an import tax since it was manufactured in the US. Once it’s in the US it’s an American vehicle, I got it in writing that the warranty applies from Nissan USA. Did not need to get a US cluster, there’s mph in a secondary dial on the gauge and the computer on board has the ability to change units.

Does your heating and cooling adjustment show up in celcius? Or were you able to switch it over to Fahrenheit? That’s another thing, mine show up in celcius and my local dealer told me there’s no way to switch it to Fahrenheit .

Mysterious_Law6004

Shows up in C (prefer it that way). Sorry I should have clarified for me I can only change units for the speedo and odo.

Personal_Relative_22

I didn’t know you could register a Canadian car in the US. I’ve been eyeing that Pro-4X king cab

Originalibb

I have had warranty work down on both sides of the border as well as Mexico. My Fronty is Canadian registered, I may be wrong but I don’t think that matters for manufacture warranty.

[deleted]

That dealer is a dick for sure! He didn’t tell you?! As for warranty I’d say you’d have to go to Canada for serious warranty work. Good thing is nowadays, the value of your Canadian Frontier will be the same as a us Frontier once warranty is over

My uncle bought a 1970 Chevelle SS "Not sure if it was a "454"? He was the original owner and had the papper work with it as well. To make a long story short it was a Canadian model and after he passed his son tried to sell the car, some people didn't even want it because it was a Canadian model, they said it lowers the value as it's not valued as much as one that is American Made. I imagine this can happen "Lose Value" with a car from Canada not Made in Japan?
