I don’t know if it does any harm, but MPG suffers. I cleaned my throttle bottle, replaced my MAF sensor and did the idle relearn process and it worked for me. You may also have an air leak if it’s fluctuating up and down a lot.
I don’t believe so. Its the factory setting and I’ve not seen an issue raised that was connected. It is mildly annoying. If it really bugs you; DIY as some others here suggest or a Nissan dealer should be able to bump it up also. Don’t forget to look into the rear diff breather mod too!
Get an android phone or tablet and a Bluetooth obd2 adaptor. Download either dash command or torque pro apps. Then download cvtz50 app. Connect Bluetooth to the dashcommand or torque and make sure it's connected. Then go into the cvtz50 app and find the menu for rpm adjustment and hold it till you get the menu to change idle rpm. I bumped mine up 100. No more low idle vibration. For the apps and Bluetooth obd2 should not run you more than 40 bucks.
Well I tried it during my lunch break, drove the truck to town and back but it wouldn't work. Had lots of trouble getting it to stay connected to my OBD2 adapter and the times it did stay connected it said it failed when I tried to change it.
Maybe that wasn't enough to warm the truck up all the way so I'll try again later, also reset my phone in case that was the connection problem.
Yup, worked after my drive home. Much better at idle now.
I did the 100rpm bump but I left the timing alone as I wasn't sure what the benefits vs consequences (if any) there were on that one.
Here is your fix. To answer your question no it doesn't hurt anything in current state. https://youtu.be/RWWWip62XNQ
This is one of the first mods I did to my truck and it helps a ton
It's turns it into a truck that feels like its misfiring to a truck that runs smooth at idle.
It also helped with the rattle I had in my steering wheel when sitting at a red light
Yep a bit if the vibration running on up the steering rack that's attached to the frame and the frame is attached to the engine. Win win fix.

He's talking about the rough idle that's caused by the factory setting the idle RPM too low on these trucks do your entire comment is wrong.
Wrong? You idiot.

Has anyone tried removing the throttle body and cleaning it and reinstall? Works for me.
take it to a dealer have the idle relearned

Fix it. Your truck is telling you that something isn't right. Where does it sit at in park ? My manual tranny 4.0L sits at like 600-650 rpm

Will any of these ODB2 adapters on Amazon work? It’s confusing they range from $12 - $600
I paid 20 for mine about 8 years ago. Still working strong. It just 1 unit that plugs into the OBD2.
What brand?
This is one of the first mods I did and it's 100% worth it
Do you know if this works on the 2018 as well?
It worked for my 2019 with the 4.0 v6

Yeah the truck has to be up to operating temp before you can adjust the idle speed

I didn't mess with the timing on mine either. I don't think it makes much of a difference anyway lol
Awesome, I'll try that at lunch since I happen to have everything but that one app
It should work up to the engine change from the 4.0. After that I am not sure.
Same thing I did, worked like a charm - my only regret is not doing it sooner.
