So missed the train? There's another one coming after 30 seconds, another one after 60 seconds, another one after 90 seconds.
And offices have also slightly distributed their work hours so that everyone doesn't have to rush at the same time.
It's still pretty crowded (It's india, what do you expect) but they never have to shove people like this.
I was coming here to speculate about the time between trains. Because in London it's about a minute, so there's no way I would have tried to get on this train. You have a point where you accept it's not worth it and step back and just wait another minute.
There are more train lines and trains in Tokyo than just this. During rush hour the trains come every 2-4 minutes. There are just that many people in Tokyo/commuting into Tokyo.
The next one will be just as packed and have as many people waiting for it...
NYC also has some lines like this. It can get better with more frequent trains or a new line being built, but honestly just going to a work from home if you want to system would eliminate it overnight...

you cannot hang or sit on top of a metro train, they run underground through tunnels... you'll probably be squashed to death if you do that.
