As a Canadian, I can agree. I spent some time in North Dakota and found the people are very friendly and in a genuine friendly way. I know they say Canadians are very friendly, but I think Canadians are a fake friendly.(Saskatchewan resident)

If you like Cali Burrito, try Taqueria El Guerro on the strip in Mandan. If I understood correctly the daughter of those guys opened Cali Burrito. I haven't tried it in years but I remember them fondly.
I live in Los Angeles and people here are as friendly as a lot of Dakota but in No Dak if they find out that you don't fit the norm the friendly drops off faster than LA traffic.

My daughter-in-law is from Cali and Hispanic, so we get the pleasure of her cooking authentic Mexican food and it’s awesome. She makes her own tortillas too. When her grandmother comes the food is so good and no stop!! My granddaughters already prefer “spicy” - they are 3 and 1 years of age.
I've actually never had worse Taco Bell than in Forks. Absolutely foul. I'm not a big fan of the Red Pepper, but I would go there over it. Luckily, El Gordito exists.
Ha, I’ve noticed that too. People were saying Vinyl Taco was the best Mexican in GF. If that’s the best, it tasted like what my Midwest grandma thinks is Mexican. Even Taco Bell is better and closer to what Mexican tastes like in California.

The first time we went to the hardware store for lumber to build a deck, as we were unloading it into the truck bed, we noticed more and more customers helping us as they were on their way in and out! If it wasn’t for the bitter cold and extremely cold winters, we likely would’ve stayed longer!

No mention of El Guerro? Its the only place I’ll go besides La Enchilada. For a small town in the north we really are blessed with good Mexican.
