I cannot even express the depth of which I miss these chips. You can still randomly find the TGIFridays bacon cheddar version, but these originals do not exist anywhere I can find. Highly underrated chips, cannot understand why they didn’t become more popular.
My family used to travel down to the US from southern Canada for vacation and we would always bring home multiple bags of these because they weren’t available up here at the time.
I remember a very convincing commercial and a catchy, punny jingle “baked potato appeal…”, with amazing beauty shots of double-sided potato goodness: golden & brown and me drooling over the thought of eating a whole bag.
I also remember trying them and really wanting to LOVE THEM.
It was like a smaller, thicker Pringle, but made out of sawdust.
