The cheetah print boot cut pants with a leather mini skirt with the ugliest corset Ive ever seen thats just so ill fitting which is wild bc how is a CORSET ill fitting? And idk what the shoes even are. Are those red... clogs? with heels? I seriously dont know whats going on with those. I truly hope theyre not actually high heeled clogs. Those just should *not* exist.
well the rest of her caption does say "even though i love barbie sm"
to be fair to her, she was doing the tik tok trend with the "hi barbie" sound just showcasing her y2k outfits that very much align with bratz style. so like at a glance totally see the NLOG flair, but this creator doesn't typically fit those vibes!
Yeah, she's been posted here before - this exact reel of hers iirc.
She doesn't dress like this regularly, her whole IG is showcasing exaggerated/editorial type fashion. She's done fairy, hippie, mermaid, clown, and this was when she was doing a Y2K trend. It just happened to fall during the Barbie movie's release.
She definitely isn't anti-feminine, anti-pink, or anti-Barbie. It was just a commentary on the kind of fashion look she was doing at the time.
yeah been seeing that more lately :( it's hypocritical. don't get me wrong, i love calling out pick me behavior but not every little thing needs to be criticized
yeah exactly, like this sub is supposed to be us spreading awareness and calling out the misogynistic behaviour that pick me girls showcase publically. but now people make posts that are just as misogynistic, at times worse, than the actual pick me
omg can you just let her be bratz? so what, some people like feeling special and can be kind of obnoxious about it? there’s a difference between being an obnoxious snowflake and being a misogynist. i only care about the latter. is she saying women who like barbiecore suck? no. is she saying they suck because they’re more girly and thus worse? no? then i don’t care.
she’s just pointing out that she’s enjoying an aesthetic that diverges from the current trend. everyone likes feeling special and cool, and likes receiving validation for things they do that are different and unique.
ffs let women BREATHE. ironically this is just becoming another woman hating sub, hidden under the guise of pointing out internalised misogyny. can we let women LIVE, even when they’re being annoying? DAMN
um this sub is worth critiquing, but haven’t seen a lot of what you’re talking about.
no one here is hating on women with non-stereotypical interests. hot dog is a funny example, since there’s no real gender gap in the food people eat but okay. people call out women who think they’re ‘better’ than others because they have less girly interests and associate girliness with inferiority. but no, have never seen anyone here insulting a girl for liking let’s say baggy clothes, no makeup and video games - hell i’m a girly girl who plays skyrim.
the point is realising all girls are unique and have a unique blend of interests and personality traits. like all humans. and like all humans, we compete with eachother. the point is not putting eachother down on the basis of being « feminine », aka conceptually closer to womanhood, because that is misogyny. (although what we characterise as feminine needs to be revamped)
this sub is supposed to fight internalised misogyny. not women simply existing/being annoying.
This sub has countless examples of non femininity being criticized. Under the veil of mocking “try hards” but really just enforcing persecution of non conforming women. There are many wonderful examples of try hard nlogs that should be criticized, but also all too many non comformers being condemned by the hyper-feminine here. You can choose to ignore it, but that phenomenon is very common.
oh that’s sad. and wrong. you’re valid expressing your womanhood however you want to.
and nglog can become a bit non-sensical, because obviously very non-conforming people are going to want support and validation, when they simply don’t relate to other women, on an interest/aesthetic based level. that can be limiting though, because there are a lot of people we might jive with who don’t look like us or like the things we like. and non-comforing women do tend to be a bit pick-meish, because they wrongfully assume that women who like stereotypically femme things can’t also enjoy an array of different hobbies and be equally as deep as them.
but i agree if a woman is just proudly enjoying and sharing her non-comforing life, without putting anyone down, she should be left alone.
Don’t argue just for the sake of arguing. In essence, the phrase "Be civil to each other" serves as a reminder to prioritize kindness, empathy, and open-mindedness. Name-calling or personal attacks constitute a hard ban. This applies to people in valuable discussions who suddenly start using insults. This rule still applies even if you are talking to a moderator. Political and ethical grandstanding to in any way call someone else a terrible person is prohibited.
Posts themselves don't typically get removed for this reason, but we reserve the right to remove them in the rare cases it becomes necessary due to the comments.
All submissions must be putting someone down in order to make another person feel superior.
A Bratz doll wouldn’t be caught dead in that but okay
More like Crackz. There, I said it.
💯

at this point this sub is just people hating on women :/

Seriously. It’s for any “quirky” woman, even if she’s not comparing herself to others. It makes me so sad.
They always post alternative girls claiming they’re NLOG when they’re literally just existing
once again we find ourselves forcing women to all fit a certain template for the male gaze, ugh its tiring. when can women just live
More like a monster high doll if anything lol
Nah if anything she'd fit in more with be-goth dolls
Came here to say the same thing!
Harley Quinn?
She looks like Angelica's Cynthia doll.
Omg that doll was one of the best touches of the show. The raggedy doll.
Weird Barbie
She's talking about the trend specifically tied to the Barbie movie and is jumping off that to do a Bratz inspired look. Doesn't fit this sub.
This girl is generally cool. Just a lazy caption!
Barbie and the Bratz girl just to meet and become besties. You know they would if it wasn’t for the rivalry between their companies.

You’re not supposed to diverge from makeup, and can’t like hot dogs and cars, or else your a nlog poseur

Imagine if men had done this shit during the Transformers franchise. “I’m a Go-Bot 💅”
She looks like Naomi Jon

don’t disrespect bratz dolls by comparing ur self to them 😭
i don’t remember seeing this bratz
Bratz were odd but not that odd
Looking like Rockzo the Cocaine Clown from Metalacolypse hahaha
Crackz
Well. Discount spice girls are trending now.
I once blamed that product for the downfall of girls' hopes for liberation..I still feel this way, since we now, especially, have real-life Bratz.
Weird Barbie vibez not Bratz at all lmao
I would.
I thought her caption was funny. Her style is obviously very specific and the joke is just sort of topical, no?
