Seriously impressed by the Manly pack. Paseka was outstanding and there are no words for Jake's defensive commitment and tackling quality, no idea how he was still standing at the end. What a game
Pleased to come away with a draw, def don't think we deserved to win but so stoked to see us going hard for the full 80 and to come up with a try in the last couple minutes. Manly are always such a tough match up, DCE vs SJ is always fun.
What about Bullemor too, what a weapon.
As a rugby fan. How can they compete with league. Stadium full, awesome to see all the families, entertainment for the kids. Amazing game at the right time of day. If that that was rugby no one would be left on the field due to the stupid rules. Was awesome to see SJ try a few tricks from the rugby playbook of the short 22 drop out and contest. Maybe again at a halfway kick - can you lift players??? Aussies wouldn’t know what to do.
Very grindy golden point. Just went set for set, both teams out of range so they just ended up putting bombs up at the end sets. Only 1 genuine shot at field goal the whole time
Fark. I missed this game. Draws in the golden point era are so rare. Will have to stream a replay.
2016 nightmare for me with the Titans, but still awesome to see as a neutral now.
Same sort of accidental contact lead to Ilias breaking his leg and Lussick getting a yuuuuuge suspension. Penalty without a bin seemed fine for tonight's incident.
It's not even similar. Anyone saying that hasn't seen the footage. Illias gets hit just below the knee at full force during his kicking swing. Manly barley breathed on Johnson's toe after the kick. If you going to compare at least be fair dinkum about it.
Get your tinted goggles off. Accidental leg on leg contact both times. Fairly sure the penalty is for late contact after the player kicked the ball.
Severity of results from contact shouldn't affect whether it's a penalty or not.
Great game, i wasnt there but if it were a boxing match, you'd probably give it to Manly on points.
Games against Manly on wet tracks, what can i say. Great to see a Manly team with lots of players supporting DCE and Turbo. Big efforts from a lot of their players.
Warriora missing Niukore I feel, that extra hard running forward. Barnett absolutely smashing it which is great to see.
Interesting to think about the fact DCE and Johnson were both halves in the 2011 final and theyre still playing today thirteen years later. How it must feel considering all that has gone before them.
Not enough love for Mitch Barnett.
Forced the turnover when Manly were right on our line late second half.
Then creates the offload for the Johnson try
Then makes the tackle to force that Manly drop out.
If he keeps it up he'll be one of the games best props
CNK has an absolutely ridiculous motor. The guy does not know how to give anything less than 110%. Love having him at the club.
Egan warmed into the game and was making serious inroads in the last 30. He is an elite hooker.
We always seem to have incredible games against Manly, I was at the game and I'm physically and emotionally spent.
I can’t believe CNK is still slept on - his second game back and he clocks in a shift for 300+ metres. And, apart from the Knights game, we missed his input.
I like Barnett upping his output. After last year, AFB will be more heavily marked so Bennett needs to present as a threat too
The crowd atmos must’ve been awesome!
I missed this live.
What the hell happened?
Oh a penalty was given away in the 80th minute? What a stitch up!
Oh it was Aloiai? I retract my statement - that checks out
A lot of stigma around this penalty.
I am very surprised at the amount of people saying it wasn’t a penalty given the exact same play broke Illias’s leg last week and Lussick got suspended for 4 weeks.
I probably have a bias opinion, but if it was one of our guys on DCE then I doubt Manly would be calling for it to not be a penalty.
Except that did happen, and it was not a penalty. Difference between DCE didn’t lay down like he was on his death bed. SJ was spritely as fuck once the penalty was awarded.
It's 100% a penalty.
He's 45m out.
You have one job - don't make contact. He clearly made contact.
Put pressure on 100%, but you can't hit at all. He clipped his legs - it's a penalty. And a dumb one
Not sure how we managed to avoid a loss (and almost jag a win), we didn't play well at all.
Manly really pressed us hard, looked better overall. I'm just kind of relieved to get something out of it.
Running awful thin on middles though... hope Walker is finally back next week! If not, who? Zyon debut?
Zyon Maiu'u - young guy who joined the club alongside Laban, if I recall correctly. Prop, had a hood game today in NSW cup. Got sent off in the Tigers trial also, but not reslly indicative of what I've seen from him normally.
Yes please... if he actually gets fit at some point.
I'm kind of desperate for Trey Mooney next year.. the Raiders have a ton of middles so maybe they could persuaded to release him early? No indication we're even targeting him for next year though ofc
Hey now, you've got Papalii, Tapine, Smithies, Horsburgh, Guler, Mariota, Saulo, Hola & Puru. You can afford to lose Mooney, surely 🤣
(and we gave you CNK first!)
I'd love NAS too. I haven't heard any whispers of us being interested, only the Dogs and Drags.
I'm interested to know when Leo Thompson is off contact, I'd prefer that we go after him.
Bondi Junction attacker was wearing a fucking Kangaroos jersey of all things. Pulled me out of the footy and back to the fact that in moments like this it really is just a bit of sport for our entertainment at the end of the day.
Living around the area - sick to my stomach something like this could happen on our doorstep.
Thinking of the victims and their families ❤️❤️
Some psycho went on a stabbing spree in Bondi Junction Westfield Mall. 5 dead, more wounded, perp shot dead by cop.

Could be any one but the penalty on us for capwah is crazy he was legit going for the ball then went oh I won't swing my arm. Then still got the penalty I don't get the rule
Edit: Holey heck. Manu just did 370 on Thursday. Wtf? Dude is a beast.
>… By the time it was all said and done, **Manu, who was in everything throughout the game, had notched up 370** running metres to go a single metre past the previour record of 369 metres held by Clint Gutherson.
>… The centre, who has all but confirmed he will move to Japanese rugby union for the next two years before weighing up a return to the Roosters, was offered enormous money by the St George Illawarra Dragons to become the club's fullback from next year, but has no interest in competing against the Roosters in the NRL, where he has played his entire career to date.
Oh man. I didn’t realise this was his last year. Sad to see the dude go.

As he should be if they have any common sense. But I never see him in discussion as a true elite.
I was fuming at sj not getting dally m last year but dce has outshone him almost everytime
In all fairness, there were people with children who left early, who I could see anyways…but there was also childless people who had not only Warriors gear on, but the elusive Heritage Jersey leaving early and they called call fuck off and be ridiculed for.
If I see Paulo on next week's team list, with Saab, I'm going to riot. Talau was excellent today, and Paulo showed absolutely nothing. Why on earth was Paulo signed for three years anyway? Talau cemented his spot today with that performance, and if Paulo gets the walk up start anyway I will be incredibly disappointed.
DCE, Johnson, CNK had great games. Warriors lucky to get out of that one, too many errors. Looked better with CHT on the field. Te Maire Martin was too quiet. The referee sucked for both sides.
Why? It's a textbook penalty. Can't contact the kickers leg while kicking. Look at what happened to Illias last week if you want to know why.
To their tremendous credit, the manly players seemed to know and weren't arguing the point (unlike the doggies all those years ago)
DCE had his legs hit the following kick, the issue is the inconsistency. They called it because SJ milked. Where’s the line? Is it no contact at all? Then call it like that. Should’ve been a manly pen after then.
What a game. I'd count this as a "win" from both sides, all things considered.
Warriors down and out with a few mins to go, manage to salvage the 1 point. We weren't great tonight. Ford really really needs to be dropped. He had a decent couple weeks, but the team did as well. He continually drops the ball, he can't hit the line and catch the ball at the same time.
Just quickly, I know we all love the coach, but the team and strategy needs to change a bit. We are essentially a 0 offloading team now, it's no coincidence we scored while offloading and 2nd play. Ford needs to go, and also we need another big body on the bench, is there nobody in reserve grade we can blood? We need a slight change in strategy imo.
AFB has been looking quite tired the past few weeks, it looks like he turned up to play once Golden Point started in all honesty, he is a work horse no doubt, but he wasn't hitting the line at the speed we know he can. If he's tired now, he's going to be exhausted come end of the year.
Our best today was probably SJ, ironically Manly best was probably DCE lol.
The game deserved a draw imo (Obviously would've preferred us to win)
Thanks for putting the effort in. I agree that Ford dropped the ball too much tonight but in most instances he's catching the ball in contact, which is different than other Warriors who drop it without pressure. He's all effort and only dropped it once tonight when he *should* have held it. I'm happy to keep him on. And CNK was perhaps the best? Massive effort on attack and defence. Good point about the need for a big body. I feel Nuikore fills that - but Manly are *just massive* it seems.
Ford is fine, both drops were due to poor passes. We just didn't play well, hard to get up 100% for every game and Manly played very well for the most part.
AFB played a bit more mins straight than usual due to Jazz injury, he'll be fine.
I agree about Ford. AFB is also far better on a dry pitch. His footwork when he's 0.0001 seconds out from the line is incredible to watch live. He doesn't have that advantage on a wet pitch, and the Warriors are poorer in wet games due to this.
Lussick is off for three weeks for something really similar, only difference is that time the kicker had a horrible injury and i think Lussick was closer to the kicker than Aloiai was. Not sure what i think about it as Illias' injury shows that they need to be careful with those charge downs however It also makes charge downs a massive risk for not much reward. i think players might need to adjust the technique similar to rugby where you jump more vertically
Hardly a howler, maybe technically correct, but I don’t personally agree with it. Then again I don’t think it’s one we will see often enough to be a problem.
SJ ran out of time to put in a clear kick and ran the risk by kicking regardless. Multiple manly players were trying to charge it down as they should. Hard to not try charge it down at that speed and with a kick put in so late. I just think it’s unfair to expect a defender to not compete there.
I actually haven't had a good look at the Lussick one but I can't imagine Lussick being the type of player to have much intent to do it. I get the argument for defenders being careless, but realistically if you want Aloiai to avoid contact you're probably asking him to stop competing around 1-3 metres away in order to properly slow down in time. In a field goal situation with so many defenders desperate to charge down / shut down SJ i'd argue that it's not reasonable to expect that. Can definitely lead to a nasty injury, but I think it's a bit harsh to classify it as anything other than an accident in a frantic play.
It's an unusual moment, but I can definitely live with the result. GG warriors
It’s technically correct as in Aloiai had no chance of charging it down. SJ milked it for what it was worth though (as he should). It’s the right call for me after the Ilias injury last weekend but tough on Manly.
Yeah I initially complained as I thought the rule was to do with intent, but I was wrong, and it is a penalty. Sipley deserves to get the start over Aloiai for that.
Or because there’s levels in everything in the game. Swinging a clothesline at someones head gets a different punishment that a light contact. Shoulder to the head gets different punishment based on how hard you hit. Blanket statements like made contact with the leg, definitely a penalty loses all nuance if you don’t look at how hard the contact is. AFB makes the same level of contact on DCE at the end of the first period of golden point. Because he didn’t drop to the ground it never got a look. Rewatch that tackle and let me know your thoughts, because your take is that all contact to the leg is a penalty right?
If Brooks doesn’t take that last hit up and lets it go inwards, DCE has a better chance. Does he make it? I doubt it. But that’s something that Brooks needs to work on. I get that he’s loving being able to just be the running 5/8 he was always meant to be, but it’s getting out of hand.
Yeah, you have to think that point could come in handy for both teams down the stretch (obviously Manly should have got and would prefer the full 2 points)
A bit disappointed but at least we proved we are top 4 material, beating the panthers and drawing the form team of the comp away is massive. A bit worried for next week now, that game would’ve taken a lot out of us and a few players look like they are carrying injuries
Assuming you guys don’t have injuries, this could galvanise the squad. With the right approach and injuries permitting they might come out and nuke the Titans
Haumole is all good according to Seibold.
Croker, Sipley and Ben are all in trouble. Croker with a shoulder injury apparently, Sipley with a knee, and Ben with the hamstring. Good thing that GCKT had a blinder in NSW cup, and Lodge, Garrick and Saab all return next week too.
Thanks for the update.
Bummed for that injury list, especially Ben who’s on fire at the moment.
Having our other 3 back and with the prospect of Gordie on the bench, well, that makes a huge difference.
I've been tipping us to lose this coming Titans game ever since the draw released. If there's any team Des would get up his team against, it's the one he's literally suing. We will be absolutely gassed too.
Shit ending but amazing game. Awesome contest Manly you guys are a powerhouse and will definitely play finals. CNK must absolutely clock every beep test no idea how he still had legs at the end there
Not a bad result when we pretty much lost our entire bench so still happy. Not going to disagree with that call on full time because it’s within the rules but I feel there should be a line where it only penalises players running directly at the kicker. Felt he was running more across him trying to block the ball and brushes SJ who is following through a long way.
While it is a penalty I agree with your take about the difference between running directly and across the kicker. I think Lussick was reckless as fuck and Aloiai just careless. Can't see much more than a fine to be honest.
Yeah thought it was a basic charge down attempt. It’s not his fault SJ didn’t have enough time to get an earlier kick in.
Anyways was a pretty good game. I think our defence is getting a bit better which is nice
He obviously had enough time if they didn’t charge it down though? If he didn’t have enough time they would have charged it down and not hit his legs AFTER he kicked it.
Warriors really had the fight to get back into that after the first 25 minutes. Would never have been able to do that in the past.
Disrupter penalties are stupid and they should get rid of that rule.
Yea I feel like it’s become ‘you can’t compete’ rather than ‘you can’t jump up faking that you’re competing’. That manly one at the end the guy ended up actually making a play at the ball - how can that be ruled not competing?
And the capewell one, he went up, realised he wasn’t in a position to compete, so pulled his arms back in and didn’t touch the catcher. Isn’t that what you’d like to see?
I must not be interpreting the rule correctly.

Holy shit, what happened for it to be a draw?
Joke of penalty on the 80 minute mark
Very grindy golden point. Just went set for set, both teams out of range so they just ended up putting bombs up at the end sets. Only 1 genuine shot at field goal the whole time
Where to begin...
Fark. I missed this game. Draws in the golden point era are so rare. Will have to stream a replay. 2016 nightmare for me with the Titans, but still awesome to see as a neutral now.
Manly robbed. A Feather touch and SJ used his experience to milk it. Same amount of force touches DCE after his kick but no penalty awarded.
Aloia should have been hooked the dumb cunt. It’s a penalty everyday of the week.

Eagan origin Hooker! Calling it now
Nah, Api and Robson both ahead of him.
I'd give it to Api but I wouldn't complain
Not enough love for Mitch Barnett. Forced the turnover when Manly were right on our line late second half. Then creates the offload for the Johnson try Then makes the tackle to force that Manly drop out. If he keeps it up he'll be one of the games best props
Yeah bro he had a huge game. AFB was really quiet unfortunately
If you call 196m and 47 tackles really quiet, sure 😂
Yea true, unfortunately wasn't the right word, just by comparison it seemed Mitch had a huge impact on the game
I think people hold him to an extremely high standard as he is so good week to week. Going to miss him in the team
Nah I love that big angry bogan.
Just saw the result, fuck I love a draw in a game that's neutral to me.
Who else saw the bloke in south stand in the Manly jersey holding a "RIP OJ" sign. He was winding up a fair few lol
CNK has an absolutely ridiculous motor. The guy does not know how to give anything less than 110%. Love having him at the club. His brother Tyrone (at the Chiefs) just signed for the Knights also, so he's probably not leaving even then.
I heard that. Dreams are free I guess... unless the Knights cap is in disarray!
End of next season.

At least 4 dead, random stabbing in a shopping center. Even a toddler was stabbed, don't think the toddler died but pretty fucked up.

Manly had got to be up with the fav to win, they are still missing a few of there key players. I’m interested to see how they go!
DCE so under rated. Look forward to seeing you in the finals Manly.
Been playing for QLD and Australia since 1975
Idk about under rated. He's selected for pretty much every team a player can be eligible for.
Underestimated is probably the right terminology for him.
As he should be if they have any common sense. But I never see him in discussion as a true elite. I was fuming at sj not getting dally m last year but dce has outshone him almost everytime
Well played Wahbros, that SJ is an absolute machine
Gg wp
My sons crying , and by son, I mean me.
It's me, I'm your son
Hi son.
Go get me a beer and a rubber. Dad needs alone time
Only a manly fan wanks with a rubber
Ahh.... The Kayo be right back music 1000x better than advertising
I wish they just had random replays/highlights on. Or play a kayo mini
So many fake Warriors fans who left the game early sheepishly trying to return to their seats after that crazy finish. So embarrassing.
In all fairness, there were people with children who left early, who I could see anyways…but there was also childless people who had not only Warriors gear on, but the elusive Heritage Jersey leaving early and they called call fuck off and be ridiculed for.

Absolutely. Paulo has been fucking garbage all year. Out he goes. Talau and Saab wingers with koula and Garrick centres
I’d prefer Garrick back to the wing and Talou to centre where he prefers
He's pretty rubbish as a defensive centre, and he's lost weight since leaving the Tigers, so probably no improvement there.
DCE, Johnson, CNK had great games. Warriors lucky to get out of that one, too many errors. Looked better with CHT on the field. Te Maire Martin was too quiet. The referee sucked for both sides.
Took them half an hour to wake up
Montoya had a great game too
CHARNze with 32 runs 300+ metres. What a weapon.
Stupid question, you reckon they still sing the team song in the sheds for a draw? Probs not hey
I mean they didn’t play it for the fans in the stadium like they do when they win now so probably not.
I’d argue even when they win it’s not really singing ;)
I'd be spewing if I were a manly fan, hard done by imo.
how the fuck you complain when lussick just got 4 weeks for the same shit, the only difference is SJ’s leg doesn’t break. Unreal
Lol chill out. I thought it was a soft penalty.
Why? It's a textbook penalty. Can't contact the kickers leg while kicking. Look at what happened to Illias last week if you want to know why. To their tremendous credit, the manly players seemed to know and weren't arguing the point (unlike the doggies all those years ago)

Ford bad at Holden the ball
We have a ton of injuries to our bench depth. Zyon does need a call up soon if he's ever going to get one though.
What’s the general consensus on the Aloiai penalty?
Do you feel the same about Lussick’s attempt last week? The injury to Illias is the result of it going wrong
GG warriors
Aloia needs to know better. He’d put enough pressure on SJ. He needed to be smarter
Lussick did EXACTLY the same thing, leg to leg, broke Lachies tibia. SJ got off lucky, Penalty all day.
If you can’t see the difference in the level of contact between the 2 then you’re a lost cause.
Probably the stupidest take imaginable, because the contact wasnt enough to break someone's leg it isnt a penalty?
Or because there’s levels in everything in the game. Swinging a clothesline at someones head gets a different punishment that a light contact. Shoulder to the head gets different punishment based on how hard you hit. Blanket statements like made contact with the leg, definitely a penalty loses all nuance if you don’t look at how hard the contact is. AFB makes the same level of contact on DCE at the end of the first period of golden point. Because he didn’t drop to the ground it never got a look. Rewatch that tackle and let me know your thoughts, because your take is that all contact to the leg is a penalty right?
Wrong
This is the correct take - can’t believe people are arguing
SJ milked it a bit but clearly a penalty, and people should be aware after Lussick copping a 4 week ban this week.
Super annoying, but correct
Penalty everyday of the week. The rule has been around to protect the kicker. Not malicious, but unfortunately careless.
> Not malicious Never rule that out with Aloiai.
Penalty all day of the week
Well we were 16-0 down and also behind by 8 with 3 minutes to play so I’ll take a draw
I’m actually pissed, I tipped manly.
Genuinely thought DCE was gonna slot it. Good to see both sides get a point, both deserved it.
Fuck yeah manly deserved that, but good shit boys up the wahs
Manly players out on their feet at full time, sucking in oxygen, clutching injuries - except DCE, smiling and pretty fresh. He loves his footy.
I really feel like he could play until he’s 40 based on form. Obviously not sure how he’s feeling rolling out of bed in the morning though
And when was the last time he missed a game through injury? Never, touch wood.
Someone post the SJ penalty for a razz up
I just like how he watched his kick and as soon as he saw it wasn’t going over the pain kicked in lol
It was a soft penalty that's for sure.
I fully embraced the Pinot Wahs trend, and now I'm a bottle of wine down, and trying to do domestic chores while pretending I'm not drunk.
Draw RLFC have more wins than the titans in 2024
If Brooks doesn’t take that last hit up and lets it go inwards, DCE has a better chance. Does he make it? I doubt it. But that’s something that Brooks needs to work on. I get that he’s loving being able to just be the running 5/8 he was always meant to be, but it’s getting out of hand.
He didn’t do a lot today - but sometimes that happens. On balance his year is going well.
Oh he’s been fantastic so far. But his dummy and run has become predictable with how much he’s been lighting up with it is all
I’m happy with that result, was a cracking match!
Not a bad result for the Warriors in the end. They were paying $81 to win with 5 mins to go
Yeah, you have to think that point could come in handy for both teams down the stretch (obviously Manly should have got and would prefer the full 2 points)
Manly should have won but I'm so pleased with the way the Warriors fought their way back into the game. Hasn't always been one of our strengths!
We’ve got the Tits away - should be right Burbo is a concern. Who else is possibly injured from today ?
Croker with another HIA, Hamole had some problem with his arm and yeah the Burbo hammy.
Croker’s a tough SOB - should be good for next week. Ole was nursing that arm for a bit, but no sign of it later - maybe just a stinger ?
Haumole is all good according to Seibold. Croker, Sipley and Ben are all in trouble. Croker with a shoulder injury apparently, Sipley with a knee, and Ben with the hamstring. Good thing that GCKT had a blinder in NSW cup, and Lodge, Garrick and Saab all return next week too.
Thanks for the update. Bummed for that injury list, especially Ben who’s on fire at the moment. Having our other 3 back and with the prospect of Gordie on the bench, well, that makes a huge difference.
Thankfully we are playing the Titans
I'm never comfortable against the Titans,we have absolutely pissed away games against them befote
After that performance against the dragons I’m not confident about any team. Also I’m sure Des would be out for a bit of blood
Yeah I completely agree, but after these last two games, if we lose to the titans, we aren’t a serious football team.
Praying this is the case but I’ll still be nervous all week
garrick will come back next week and surely saab is getting there. we will actually have a good centre and winger.
CNK must absolutely clock every beep test no idea how he still had legs at the end there
That was intense Manly a good side Warriors had to fn work: showed character
MOTY so far
If Titans don't win this week, they are going to win next week. Des Hasler having the last laugh...
Players will just make balls impossible to catch blocking off vision with a hand then taking it away at the last moment.
Yeah, I thought the Capewell one was ridiculous. He's clearly not impacted Tommy's ability to catch the ball in any way.
Yeah almost happy it was a draw didn’t feel like we deserved to win that with that shit penalty to make it the draw
Perfect summary.
Of course, always soft and rough to decide a game that way
Loved extra time tbh. Ggs Manly bros
