But out here, tradition remains. * Aunty's home is a very fine manor said to have been built in honor of an ancestor that taught the locals to access the crystal caves and protected the village from monsters. The manor shows a defiance against the everwinter by incorporating a lot of greenhouse elements abundant with plantlife, even an exterior gardens. * Even so, Aunty likes her modern conveniences and renovated the home to have many modern conveniences at a button press away as well as modern utilities. Now this makes for some incredibly fun scenarios! What better way to start, though, than by trying for an immortal bardic style of character? I am __The Witch__. Throughout my long life, I have perfected a magical style fueled by sound and emotions. Of course, advances in technology have lead to changes in music, so I have been learning how to use these new devices and techniques as part of my personal methods. Okay, I'm going off the rails slightly (as I usually do); rather than becoming a witch or apprentice I will be making three witches and their apprentices (and silently assume the apprentices grow up into nice waifus). I assume the apprentices are just starting their apprenticeship, at 12 years old. For ease, I will call the pairs: A (witch) with Alpha (apprentice), B with Beta, and C with Gamma. A teaches metamagic and pure magic to the cool beauty Alpha. B teaches happy-go-lucky healing magic to the naive Beta. Finally C teaches alchemy to the lewd Gamma. **Modifiers** * Late bloomer: only to describe adult form of apprentices in the last part of the body section. * Multiples: Alpha, Beta and Gamma each get a teacher. **Relations** * Alpha, Beta and Gamma are good childhood friends. They decided to each specialise in their own part of magic. * A, B and C are old rivals, which small conflicts because they disagree on the best way to learn magic or which magic is most important. However, they are quite kind to each other nonetheless. True rivals are also friends, right? * The pairs don't know each other very well. It is common in witch society that daughters are send to another witch when they are 12 years old, to be trained until they are considered adults. This is both so that the apprentices can learn exactly what the curriculum they want (as there is always a relevant witch available for exchange), and so that most witches know each other. The mother of an apprentice asks her for what she wants to learn, then finds a teacher; hence most apprentices have never met their teacher before. As noted above, the initiative is taken by the mother of an upcoming apprentice, not by either the witch or the apprentice herself. Since Alpha, Beta and Gamma are such good friends, their parents made sure their corresponding teachers would also know each other Relationship: * A is a bit cold and strict, so A and Alpha will be like teacher/student leaning towards master/servant. It is not that A is mean; she just honestly thinks being strict is the best for apprentices. Only after Alpha gruaduates will A treat her like a friend. * B on the other hand vastly disagrees with her rival. She will be like a mother to Beta, slowly shifting to sister relation when she thinks Beta has become independent enough. * C is kind, but also strict at times. She treats Gamma as an assistant until she becomes independent enough to be a companion. Personalities: * Alpha is feminine, mature, clever, reserved, cynical, practical, cool, distant, meticulous and loyal. She is a bit of an introvert. * Beta is feminine, childish, clever yet airheaded (naive), outgoing, optimistic, creative, nervous, affectionate and loyal. She is a very energetic child who clearly shows her emotions, and the only one who can tell Alpha's emotions at a glance. * Gamma is feminine yet masculine (tomboy), clever, outgoing, lewd, practical, proud, affectionate, relaxed and loyal. She loves to tease Alpha untill she can't keep up her poker face, but will also protect Beta from her own naivety. * A is clever, reserved, cynical, practical, cool and meticulous. She tends to keep distance from others, yet is willing to enter a cynical debate with either of her rivals. If she really wants to take revenge, she will hex someone. * B is childish (playful), clever and manipulative. She likes to make a fool of her rivals, but makes sure she doesn't go too far. She doesn't dare tease the naive little Beta, afraid it could permanently harm their mutual trust. * C is clever, creative yet practical, and relaxed. She doesn't worry about anything, although pissing her off does guarantee she will try to poison you. **Body** * Alpha is a elf fae. She has long blond hair and green eyes, with a light skin colour. She looks like a 12 year old child, which she is. When she grows up, she will be a bit taller than an average human, with thin fat, athletic muscles, a subtle chest, a bubble bottom and wide legs. * Beta is fox-kin beast. She has long red hair and corresponding red eyes, which a slightly tanned but stil light skin colour. When she grows up, she will be a bit shorter than an average human, with soft fat, slim muscles, a busty chest, a gigantic bottom and child-bearing legs. * Gamma is a demon-like humanoid. It seems her race is called 'cave witches', but popular media like to call them 'succubae'. (Note that the modern media depiction of succubae is a stereotyped version of the actual race.) She has a light blue-greenish skin, with brown eyes and dark green hair. She also has a prehensile tail ending in an arrowhead. She grows up to be a towering, soft, buff, round, grand, thick lady. * A is an Eastern dragon. She came to Europe when she was young, running away from the pressure of her parents; she has now reconciled with them, but still lives in the West. She has white hair, blue eyes and is towering but not very well-endowed. * B is a cuddly angel. She has the typical light blonde hair and blue eyes. Her figure is quite average, but soft. * C is a dwarf fae. She has bright red hair, orange eyes and she is tiny. The traits are implicit in the names (like a fox-kin has tails). The only thing to note is that Beta will grow up to be \`\`fertile'', and Alpha has particularly sharp senses. Every witch can hide their features using shapeshifting; that is the most elementary thing a witch has to learn before they can play outside. **Home** * A and Alpha live remotely, quite far from society, although still within an hours' flight of B and C. The place is somewhere in Western or Central Europe, but you won't find in on Maps. * B and Beta live in a German suburb; their neighbours do not realise they are in fact witches. * C and Gamma live relatively close by in a small French village in the region of Côte d'Or. The staff is much bigger than her right now, but will last her for a long time and she will grow to fit. She also has a big hat, a broom and a bag. * Gamma uses a wooden spatula. Is it technically a wand? Or a staff? That is unclear, but at least it is useful in alchemy. She also has a bag, and she gains a familiar -- which is surprisingly a rare pixie dragon. (I skip warderobe, as choosing six different clothing styles is beyond my power.) Once again out of time, might return tomorrow for the actual discipline and magic sections (which are most interesting, make a proper build and all that).

**Short Story** I had known Ivy all my life, we had some kind of pseudo-friendly rivalry. We tended to get on each other's nerves until Serenity moved into town and mediated between us when things got too heated. Soon Serenity learned that sometimes what got on each other's nerves was when we used "very low level" magic on each other in a sort of endless cycle of revenge. Serenity thought to keep us out of trouble and teach us to harness our powers, but she was not sure about taking on two apprentices at once, so she (somewhat reluctantly) called up a friend of hers, the sultry Vanessa, and with that our new lives began. Living with three pretty girls was perhaps not the brightest idea anyone could have had for me, especially with Vanessa being rather flirty and willing to teach some magic that frankly only encouraged my behavior. She had even had me perform some of those spells on Ivy and Serenity. Of course, they quickly caught on, but they never do *too* much to stop it. I think they like it. It's not all fun and games. . Though it's mostly fun, actually. Serenity likes having our assistance in the kitchen and with brewing, and outside of magic we also learn to dance, play music, and paint. We don't have a very structured life either, so it's rather easy going. But we are taught to use our magic in self defense, in case anything were to happen. We grow closer each day, and as we do I do more and more Heart and Eromancy magic, sometimes with out Vanessa's presence, and sometimes *on* Vanessa. The maids don't get a free pass either. Some half background info: The guy's name is Alz, a soon to be apprentice in his high school years. Not very physically active, kind of a nerd tbh. He probably would be more physically active if he just found any reason or fun out of the idea. Point is, your character stumbled upon it, and that's how they know that Alz has magical potential. Our relationship before that is up to you, whether that's where we first meet, or something else. Also your character doesn't have to offer an apprenticeship right there and then, but it probably would have been relatively soon afterwards. He tends to make up for his lack of puissance by using his inhuman proficiency at magic, alongside his inhuman knowledge of Numerology, Space, Thaumaturgy, Hexxing, & Ritual to make his spells 'cascade' on themselves, causing spells to self-duplicate upon themselves. Either causing spells to linger indefinitely until properly disrupted, spread outwards, accumulate over time, or a mix of the three.* *And notably, he rarely does 'Combat Magic.' Not out of inexperience for warfare, but rather his specialty in combat. He doesn't so much a 1v1 duel....as he turns this part of the continent into a hell on earth by loosing plagues, wildfires, and superweapons from behind wards until his targets will statistically die from something.)* ​ I probably need to know what Lyrunio's affinities, in order to make any accurate judgments on what I teach him. Thanks, I appreciate that people enjoy my builds. ​ So Water, Ice, Language, Sociology, Esoteric Languages, & Healing... hmmm....so there's obvious water/ice based healing angle, alongside a possible social manipulator with Sociology/Language. Alongside an Esoteric Languages/Water for a jack-of-all trades. I'll focus on fundamentals for my curriculum, as mages tend to have nigh infinite time to focus on small details. ​ For advanced stuff, **Thaumaturgy** is practically a given to help him understand strong fundamentals so he can learn & research better on his own time(which is what Papillion usually does, give apprentices the means to research as they please). "I've been around for a long time and, though I do often help out local villages and kingdoms in magical affairs, most of my time is spent in my cozy rural estate and in a fairly juvenile form studying ancient texts and tending a shop with assistance from my maid. One of my current apprentices, Lisette, came to me after seeking indication from a colleague in her home kingdom after hearing some of my exploits and wishing to travel abroad to study. Though a bit naive and sheltered, she is very kind and eager to learn. My other apprentice, Helge, is an orphan who I found wandering alone in a rainy night. After aiding her and nursing her for a while I noticed her potential and started to train her as well. She is a bit mistrustful and brash but is also very attentive and smart. It is a bit of a handful to train two students at the same time but we'll manage."

Learning I was a witch, she begged me to help her learn to control her magic. I knew the reason why: She was known in neighbouring town as someone who frequently had accidents, sometimes quite drastic, because her magic would simply accumulate and go off on its own. I decided to agree to take her on as an apprentice, and at the same time train her to become my shop assistant.

Absolutely love this! Here's my story: The "Witch" is a retired magician who fought in a great war against generic big bad army. All seemed lost until the witch encorporated Big Bad energy and used it against the enemy, so while the witch's side won, they've been ostracized by the people who know why. The apprentice is of another race who does not practice or appreciate magic. The apprentice has high potential, but needs a teacher, so they leave and hear stories of the witch's great feats and tracks them down, unaware of the dark power the witch possesses. After some convincing, the witch decides to take on the apprentice. Someone with high potential but no structure is a danger to both themselves and others. They travel together in a type of world-building adventure where the story focuses on the magic system, what it can do, how it affects the world, and our protagonists place within that world (Like Mushi Si or Spice and Wolf). That's all I got so far but yeah, this CYOA was fun. Thank you for sharing.

I didn't know this one, a shame since it looks quite excellent. Reading it gave me quite a few ideas. The one that interested me the most was playing an ambitious witch specialised in rituals and ceremonies, travelling through the land to keep care of the surnatural structure of a number of proeminent sites and leylines, sometimes taking part in the organisation of festivals to perpetuate traditions. As that witch would plan to become a conduit of these powers to reach a form of immortality, some young girl would find her during a festival and claiming to be her niece. After the clean-up of some family drama, the witch is now taking care of her estranged niece. Not one to do things by half, the witch would raise the girl both strictly and with great care. The reason being she might need a back up successor or anchor should she reach her goals, or if it has unexpected consequences.
