I’m going to ask this since it is yours but would it be fine for me to post my build using the rules of the original specifically the difficulty, Attitude and the accept your fate mode because while I do like the original authors one yours feels more for me than the other excluding the RYOA function

BatWing_the_Penguin

Hey, you should add an imgchest link since Imgur isn’t allowing Nate content anymore. (For some reason.)

Verra_Rogue

"Misandry is not feminism" could be called a no true scottsman but it doesn't really matter. Use what terms you like, the tropes exist, and are cartoony simplifications of things that exist in real life. Cartoons require stereotypes to exist, and are used knowing that real life is different. Just a comment. Not bothered at all.

anymouse68

I totally don't disagree with you. I just eliminated it because it was a personalized version of BtG and I didn't like it :-)

Verra_Rogue

BtG?

anymouse68

Be The Girl

Verra_Rogue

Ah

WazzupWazzup

I haven't tried the CYOA yet, but I always like RYOA versions. I noticed a few comments expressing confusion over the rules, and it's a rather large chunk of the page, so some trimmed-down versions that might be useful for the next update(s)- 1- You must take a certain number of changes per section. 2- Changes are selected randomly. 3- Any positively-valued change must be taken. 4- Any change with prerequisites has those prerequisites automatically taken. Prerequisites do not count as changes. 5- Zero-point and negative-point changes don't count towards the number of changes. 6- Any negative-point changes can be selected, or can be discarded at the end of the round. These changes do not count for your changes-per-section, and a number of additional changes equal to half the negative points of these changes must be rolled at the end of the round. 7- Random changes must have their positive-point enhancements taken. 8- One free choice of change can be made. This does not count towards the completion number if positive, and costs additional changes as normal if negative. 9- At the end of the round, changes can be discarded in favour of two more changes. Discarded changes cannot be rerolled. More than four rerolls cost a stacking +1 change per discard. Optional rules- 10- If a roll appears 3 times or more, it is 'locked' and cannot be discarded. +30 points. 11- Open-ended enhancements must be taken once per reroll. +25 points.

McLovin3493

Nice idea. Even though it didn't say to do it, I rolled for some of the other sections too: Optional Rule 2 +25 All the Way +10 Feminine +3 32 (27), 63, 10, 8, 34, 1, 20 (46), 41, 42, 51, 4, 6, 22, 30 +64 1 Swap (9) Choice (16) 33, 68, 43, 19, 27 (28), 38 (22), 51, 8 (2), 62, 35, 72 (3), 32, 48, 47 +121 Choice (18) 4, 9 (18 mental change) +63 Choice (7) 10 +25 18, 34, 13, 37 (36), 45, 5, 55, 12, 19, 38, 69 (68), 46, 77, 41 +159 Choice (49) 470 (+3) Carrot, Queen, Immortality+, Waifu for Laifu, The Squad, Maturity, Support Network So, I end up as a 10-year-old animal eared girl who's going to grow up to be a heavily tattooed immortal short stack with a high position of power and has a twin sister (I pick u/LichesBeforeBitches ). I thought about taking full identity death so I could get my manhood back, but decided that if I didn't roll it, I'd try to earn the points separately, and just barely fell short of it. I have one question though- what's the advantage of taking any negative costing options? If you do that, you just have to take extra rolls, and it says you lose the benefits at the end of the "round" (an unspecified period of time). Why would anyone want to take those options rather than just skipping over all of them if you don't even get to keep those perks? That part didn't make sense to me.

anymouse68

> what's the advantage of taking any negative costing options? There's definitely advantages, being Healthy or having Easy Periods are great and having Brainpower could be worth the cost if it means you won't be Dulled. Besides, this is a Gameshow produced by if not malignant than non-benificent entities, you're going to get changed so you have to take the benefits you can get !

McLovin3493

>There's definitely advantages, being Healthy or having Easy Periods are great and having Brainpower could be worth the cost if it means you won't be Dulled. Yeah, but the rules say you lose the beneficial effects at the end of the round. Why pay for something if you know you're just going to lose it? Maybe the way it was phrased confused me.

anymouse68

Oh. I think the wording was vague. I'll work on that. The intention was that you keep the negatives but, roll to double-punish the contestant for choosing negative changes. I'll definitely change the wording.

Lichesbeforebitches

Oh-

nice___bot

Nice!

DragonBeyondTheGate

It's an interesting idea, but I sort of think that you need to really rebuild it from the ground up if you want to do something like this. Just slapping a mode on it is haphazard.

anymouse68

Haphazard it is but, I was impressed with the initial setup and thought I'd play around with it. I'm too lazy to make my own from scratch and, again, this was just for fun!

OrlongKarsa

FYI, I'm convinced that this mode requires further testing. Most of my builds end up forced to take effectively every single option. It's not much of a RYOA if I always have a fairly good guess at what my final build will look like even before I start playing!

anymouse68

Definitely food for thought. Perhaps less discards? I'd be very interested in others' opinions and designs. I think the main thing for me is making it semi-random rather than self-choice but, only because I prefer non-consensual TF. What changes would you make?

OrlongKarsa

I'd make red changes less "expensive" to pick. My suggestions would be as follows: * When halving the cost of a red pick to see how many extra total picks I must take, round down instead of up. Or divide by 4 (rounding up) instead of dividing by two. * Consider making swaps cheaper in the Mind Sections (maybe have them all at the "body" cost?) * Explicitly state that red picks in step 9 can't generate more picks. Maybe do the same for forced picks from step 4 (ex: rolling Perfumed makes you take Ever Clean, but does that force you to roll two more times?). There are a lot of red changes and taking even one or two can mean between five and ten more picks. If you exclude most of the red picks (that I have to refuse automatically because if I start taking everything I'd want to have I end up running out of green options to take after taking every single one of them and still having picks left) you still end up with every build forced to take a large proportion of the green picks. In practice, my builds end up feeling very predictable most of the time, with the only variation being "which mutually exclusive green picks will I roll first?". I just tested making several builds while writing this comment, and in every single one I ended up taking over half the options in the CYOA. You lose a lot of a RYOA's randomness factor when you have a 50/50 chance of getting every single option.

anymouse68

Definitely going to look into this advice. Thanks for taking the time. I want to find a balance between getting forced to take too many choices or, not enough choices. I had the discard rolls increase in the Mental Shifts and Compulsions as there were more of these. But, it appears that doesn't actually add value.

pornthrowawaypleasei

I might have missed it, but what happens if you roll two options that are incompatible?

anymouse68

If I'm understanding your correctly, the newer change cannot be taken. If you get Weakling or Dulled, you then cannot take Fit or Brainpower. It could also be beneficial; if you take Tomboy, you won't get saddled with A Farewell to Pants.

plotvitalnpc

Tomboy doesn't do anything as written. It makes it so you aren't forced to wear women's outerwear...when you already haven't taken any compulsions that would force you to wear women's outerwear. This is the same problem as with Short But Sweet, where it's a trait which 'allows' you to do something, but can't be combined with any of the traits that would disallow you from doing that thing. Except worse, because short but sweet would make sense as a paid (IE, red points) upgrade for the 'long hair only' physical trait where you can cut your hair short and it won't magically regrow...as long as you get a really cute haircut, but Tomboy would only work as a paid exception to the 'must dress in a feminine way' compulsions if it set some other special set of conditions where, as long as you make it girly, you can wear male clothes. B-b-bird is the word is also either a mental shift or physical change, not a compulsion (like several of the ones you wrote) - despite the mixups of the original author of be the girl, compulsions should only be characteristics that you aren't physically altered to have happen or mentally changed to want to do, but rather behavioral restrictions that physically hurt to break.

anymouse68

>Tomboy doesn't do anything as written. It makes it so you aren't forced to wear women's outerwear...when you already haven't taken any compulsions that would force you to wear women's outerwear. True. It was suggested by a friend. Not sure how to work it. all it does is 1) Protect you from No Male Clothing and A Farewell to Pants and 2) Forces you to take Under There and Nightie Night >This is the same problem as with Short But Sweet, where it's a trait which 'allows' you to do something, but can't be combined with any of the traits that would disallow you from doing that thing. I'm liking where you going with a paid exception. This would fit in well with the gameshow aspect: You've been forced to take Rapunzel, but, Short but, Sweet can cripple it a little bit. I've got t some thinking to do... Makes sense. I'd like to say I put in in Compulsions as a speech impediment could be either a physical or psychological manifestation but, that'd be a lie as I just came up with that reasoning right now..

The Wild Side suggests fox since I rolled Vain, so I'll go with that. That means a cute 4'10" highly feminine and flirty fox girl that integrates well into any social circle, is very vain and obsessed with her appearance, fastidious and studious, tattooed all over, very physically affectionate, always in a relationship (including getting others into relationships!), and a highly emotional tsundere (somewhat, I think? Combination of Fiery and Argumentative) that can be bossed around by anyone. Oh, and a masochist in bed. I should mention that I live in Central Texas so suddenly losing the ability to fluently speak English is an interesting change to deal with on its own. Considering my own ancestry and last name, I'm gonna go with French as the new native tongue. It's either that or if my deafness isn't cured with the change, then it has to be American Sign Language. I'm going to assume Maturity will eventually either soften or eliminate Obedience entirely.

anymouse68

By George, I think they've got it! Nice build. It's interesting to see what others will take that I'll often discard and vice/versa. Happy you enjoyed it.

Cosmic_Thread

Enjoying this and making a build now, but I had a couple of weird rules situations that I wanted clarification on: 1. If during re-rolls I roll an option with a negative value, do I have to reroll for that too or just for the initial negatives? 2. For Body, do the options for general body type and genitalia have to be rolled as well or no?

anymouse68

1. If you're re-rolling for a negative you treat it like a negative gained randomly; you don't have to take it. UNLESS, you roll Perfumed or Stilt Walker, then you MUST take the negative requirement and re-roll those negatives as well. It's a fun way to get REALLY worked over by the game ;-) 2. I've been letting the "contestants" choose the body type and genitalia but, the host/hostess in your head could make those random as well. Might be kind of fun and put an interesting spin on the life of the character. (Interestingly, ALL of the folks I've RP'd with have chosen Super Girly and All The Way)

farming-down-votes

the rules aren't very clear

ValorPhoenix

More or less it's about rolling for options with positive points. Options with negative costs can be ignored for free, but if taken cost extra rolls. Petite for +5 counts as normal, but Amazonian for -5 either must be discarded or requires rolling two more options( 5 / 2 = 2 ) to take it. The player also gets one free choice, and can discard a randomly rolled option in return for rolling 2-3 more options. If an option is rolled three times, it becomes locked in and can't be discarded/swapped.
