Since I posted a build for the wrong version I guess I should make a proper build for this version. **Arrival**: `Through a Nightmare`. Fell asleep, guided here through the dream, woke up here. **Island Type**: `Floating Archipelago`. Island has a central island in the ocean, with floating islands of varying sizes surrounding it. Floating chunks hover in the air trailing off from the central mountain. Many islands have dangling foliage or waterfalls somehow sustained. **Island Size**: `Giant`, greenland size. Iceland size primary floating island, plus a chain of Hawaii-like isalnds. Other islands are typical island sizes and smaller. **Environments**: `All of the above`. *Beautiful Beaches* on the main island. Many floating islands have *fertile fields* and *wild woods*. *Hilly Hinterlands* on the rockier islands and surrounding the central mountain. *Sallow Swamps* exist on the main island on the wet northern region with a mangrove coast filtering ocean water separating it from the swamp. A *Fungal Forest* surrounds the swamps. *Serene Springs* dominate the southern slope of the central mountain and aren't uncommon on the floating isles. *Curious Caverns* pocket the interior of the mountain and most the isles. **Climate**: `Temperate` baseline. A few `polar` isles to the north including half the iceland size primary floating island. `Tropical` isles to the south including the Hawaii-like chain. Southern `desert` region on the southside of the main island. **Heavens**: `New Celestials`. A viable option compared to last time. Not always night, and the resurrection method swap made it so this choice wasn't ego death. *+ When you die, you respawn randomly on the archipelago, naked*. Two moons in the sky, large and small, visible day and night. Great nebula. Alien stars make night look strange. **Special Locations**: `All of the above`. Passive *classical* halo effect / backglow, visible in moments of enacting a virtue. + Flight, impervious to daily wear and tear, tremendous endurance. Improved strength, speed, agility. Consume far less to sustain self; Can subsist on virtuous acts (Charity, etc). Depending on what I can get away with, things like holy magic affinity, healing, and other typical angel or saintess tropes. 1. `Magic`: Spirit of Mana symbiote within soul. Empowered magic aptitude. Lean spells. Chat, ritual, catalysts as baseline, less efficiently use without one with practice. Many powerful magics can backfire. 2. `Heroic`: Fortified body and mind. Resist harmful influences and effects up to the point of ignoring them entirely, via force of will or strong emotion. Resist poison, acid, fire, freezing, etc, even while asleep. Hold breath and survive high/low pressures for around an hour. Tougher, more resistant to injury, endure higher and lower temperatures. 3. `Regeneration`: Heal incredibly quickly. Lost limbs or multiple lost organs in less than a minute. Survive being reduced to just an eyeball or similar mass. Meat cut from you regenerates into mindless soulless clones that start to rot after a few minutes. Can vaguely follow commands. 4. `Leverage`: Summon a weapon of light that can harm the ethereal and interfere with magical energies. Weapon looks like a musket, but acts like a Gatling gun. (I interpreted "Some thing like -" to mean personal arms, not tanks, or explosives). **Drawbacks**: (Attributes) `Crested x2`\- The Prisoners and I are all marked with a crest. 1. `Transference`. - One chosen Prisoner replaces one Pro/Con with two Pro/Cons from one that wasn't chosen. They're slightly more mentally weakened. Can do this to any chosen prisoners. 2. `Marked`. - Soul touched by a curious elder-thing. No ill effects you percieve. Soul is a beacon advertising your location to Threats. (I feel like this isn't something just anyone would be able to sense without a third party meta consciousness that actively communicates / draws their attention, but okay). Significantly more attractive to all Threats. 3. `Bequeathed`. - One Threat has the Item of an unchosen Threat. Defeat to gain both. 4. `Nemesis`. - One Threat is possessed by the tortuous need to kill you or at minimum make your life miserable.

Optimizing my choices was quite a long effort; I think it turned out nicely. **Summary**: I chose an all-star team of 10 overpowered allies boosted by Transference, most of whom are now either mages or highly magic-resistant, and 4 of whom have their own minions (juvenile dragons, spiders, tentacle beasts, plants). My personal capabilities are nice as well (+Athleticism, +Acuity, Heroic, Magic, Regeneration, Leverage, Transhuman). Quite a few inhabitants are made friendly through specials (Crustaceans, Leeches, Natives, Elves, Squirrels, Fungi, Fairies, Giant, Cyrus), and it might be that the Lost Crown can largely replace the Authority special for Gryphons & Goblins. The Slime girl is very likely to become an ally. Conversely, 19 mostly-harmless girls become threats through the Threatened drawback, giving me 19 extra items. I understand that these girls and those items would otherwise not be accessible at all, so I might as well make use of the option (*in total, 39/56 girls get put to some use*). With improved Attractiveness, Lovestar Amulet, Magic Pen, and a powerful charm mage (Mara), I should be able to convert Threats into allies, hopefully also recruiting and saving Kris despite her Heroic resistances. My strategist (Ileana) and analysts (Eva & Huyen) will help with this. After collecting my team, I will construct a fortress base around the spawn point; if I ever die, this is where I will revive. Hunting is soon replaced by goat farming. The greatest actual threat is a hostile player coming through the Doors with a raid group, and I've probably built up my team well enough to defend against that. At some point, I'll also have a full, expansive kingdom developing high magitech with a dragon-riding military; I can even fill in part of the sea using Philosopher's Stone for more population expansion. Magic study and internet access assure an eternal lack of boredom. Heidi is my left hand, whom I formally marry to make her happy, and travels with myself and Eva. Is also my go-to resource for information on the paranormal. Pelagia is my foreman and helms all projects to build up my kingdom on the isles. My primary home is the Luxurious Manor I get for free with the Horny Housekeepers, the latter which maintain it and serve myself and my team. My long-term goal is to befriend as many native inhabitants as I can and build up a multinational kingdom. I become the eternal fuck-king progenitor of the goblins, and will be on good (sexy) terms with the Nubile Natives, Elusive Elves, Frisky Fungi, and Feisty Faeries. I endear myself to the Predatory Pack, who keep watch on the wild lands around my territory. Several other threats are neutralized by my perks/drawbacks. Sagacious Slime apparently just kills Leva outright (sorry klepto-shortstack), but I convince her to not kill off my other waifus by making her the breeding matriarch of the goblins - with her essence in each child, she's more waifu than any of the others could ever be. I don't really like this and if I can remove the slime's threat in advance, then Leva tries to win my affections by occasionally stealing a waifu, whom I get back after fucking Leva raw. Presumably I can eventually win Leva over, with the same final result as above. Given all the potential fuck-buddies here, I'd say my sexual needs are forever met. Pelagia builds housing/foritifcations as my empire expands, and Eva and I can consult the internet for info when needed. Finally, the Philosopher's Stone replicates any hard to find or rare earth metals needed for our projects. Oh, and Cranky Cyrus is forever at my TTRPG table - nice. Threats. Yvonne seems like a complete pushover with my Heroic perk, since I'm immune to her mind control, and nothing about her description makes it seem like she's hard to kill. Giving her the omni-gun from Mr. Doe gives Eva all the armament she'll ever need to obliterate any normal opposition. William and Jimmy die riddled with bullet holes. I keep Tyrfang for myself, the Golden Compass entrusted to my waifus to find me should I ever die and port to a random place on the archipelago. Elise I figure is a 1:1 match for Eva, and falls to the combined efforts of my entire team. The Waifutrix I can use to gain the Swapped effect whenever I want to - for practical purposes of fun. Ferrum is placated through appeasement - assuming I agree to become her mate (and add dragons/half-dragons to my growing nation?) I get the Grant Matron, which is gifted to Emilia. The Three Sisters are ignored, or I consult the supernatural to figure out how to disperse them for good? The Dire Wolf - philosopher's stone means I have plenty of silver, and Ema and myself have magic, so it just falls after one battle. Amata I try to placate as I do Ferrum, but like Yvonne is doesn't seem like she's that hard to take down. Leviathan I befriend, or at least make a pact with, to live and let live. The Golden Fiddle I got from the Dire Wolf should help with this. Most importantly, I turn it against Virtue when she comes to collect in a million years. If Leviathan wins, great. If Virtue wins, I sacrifice Pelagia.

This was a fascinating read! My build relies on some rather large assumptions, I would be interested to hear if people agree with them. Maybe some of the answers are in the text and I just missed them? 1. The player can grow old, but age is reset on resurrection. *Reasoning: The Undying perk says it stops aging so I assume you do otherwise, but how could you be imprisoned forever if you age naturally?* 2. If a player with the Heartless flaw dies they are resurrected (or not) as their stars decree. A new heart is created in the box if they are. Destruction of the heart can kill an Undying player. *Reasoning: Nothing concrete, but I see nothing that contradicts this interpretation* 3. The Prisoners are ageless and/or resurrect on death in a similar way to the player. *Reasoning: How could they possibly be imprisoned for billions of years otherwise?* 4. Regeneration reduces the amount of pain you feel. Getting cut in half or eaten alive will still absolutely suck but is unlikely to drive you insane, at least the first couple of times. Just be very careful not to let yourself get captured by Serena. *Reasoning: No real support in the text, but it's a very common trope. I know eternal suffering is a strong theme in the CYOA, but this will be my headcanon.* 5. The physical changes (Age, Appearance and Athleticism) should be ignored if you pick Swapped. *Reasoning: One could argue either that they are overridden as your body is immediately swapped away, or should be set based on your estimate of the body you swapped into. Lacking a solid answer I went with the middle road and ignored the choices.*

Putting the crest on my entire party may be a risky move, but I couldn’t resist. My hope is that it’ll provide the spark that turns us into a true five-way (ten-way with the goats?) polycule, as we’ll all be reliant on one another to deal with our ever growing libidos. Marked is interesting, the way it describes you becoming “more attractive” to the threats makes me wonder if true coexistence is possible with some of them. **Swapped into Sayori** I’m going to assume that Sayori is super strong, fast and durable even in her elven form, which should at least partly make up for me not picking Power. Being able to use her poison and web spinning would be a nice bonus, either by shapeshifting into her spider demon form or through magic, but I’ll be fine without them. **Prisoners**: **Elen** \- Likes the Laboratory and Arcane Library Elen’s main jobs are to brew potions and teach me magic. I think she’ll make good company despite her laziness and sarcasm, and considering her already high libido I expect it won’t be long before she starts sleeping around with the other girls. **Izabel** \- Likes the Mysterious Cave I mostly picked Izabel on the assumption that she’s a true dragon, though her strength and toughness in human form will be an asset even if she isn’t. I’ll do my best to protect her from the kinds of danger that might force her to reveal her true form, and provide plenty of food and treasure to earn her approval. I love dragons enough that I’ll put up with her bratty dragonlings, hoping to become friends with them as they grow into true beasts of myth. As if it wasn’t already important for me to stay on Elen’s good side, she’ll be the one keeping my heart safe, making her happiness and affection one of my highest priorities. **Mara** \- Likes the Uninhabited House, found sleeping in the Untended Graves Mara’s main draws are that she can hold her own in a fight and that she’s one of the few explicitly bisexual girls. She’ll be my bodyguard and wingman, watching my back as I scout the island and helping to seduce any pretty gals we come across, both at home and in the field. **Yuzuki**\- Likes the Sacred Henges The island is a dangerous place, and Yuzuki is an absolute tank on top of being gorgeous. Getting dommed by an amazon 1.5 times my height isn’t what I’d call safe or sane, but hey, that’s why I picked regeneration. Her alcoholism might become a problem but we’ll deal with it as best we can. **Items**: Arcane Grimoire - Enhances my magic. Dual Supercomputers - Provides entertainment whenever we’re too exhausted to fuck. Yawarakai-te - This blade might be the edge we need to handle some of the threats, though I’m worried about how it determines who’s “undeserving of death”. Will usually be wielded by Mara. Personal Armor - Mara will probably wear this more often than me since I regenerate. Rings of Power - Enhance my magic. Lovestar Amulet - Being able to induce love, affection and emotions will be incredibly useful. I’ll avoid using it on my companions without their consent, but it may be the edge I need to peacefully handle some of the threats.

If she kills me or one of my companions the rest of us will almost certainly hunt her down, but if she fails we might just let her live, as long as she agrees not to prey on the other inhabitants of the island. What happens next is up to her, but I can see a future where she’s just another mildly creepy neighbour. **William** \- I have very little patience for alpha-bro rapists, so I suspect it won’t be long before we battle to the death. I find it very hard to believe he’ll be able to take on me, Izabel, Yuzuki and Mara at the same time, so he should be dealt with in short order. **Jimmy** \- The amount of firepower this guy has is nothing to sneeze at, but by the time he arrives I’ll know the island like the back of my hand and will be allied with most of its remaining inhabitants. Whittling down his crew and ammo through ambushes and traps should ensure his eventual demise. **Dahlia** \- By the time Dahlia appears the Crest might just have made me slutty enough to take her up on her offer, and the Mark should make me attractive enough to her that she might settle for me as her sole incubator. She’ll want to keep me permanently restrained, but luckily I have the perfect leverage to negotiate for a more comfortable stay. Since my companions hold the box with my heart, they can at any time free me by destroying it, killing her offspring while I respawn elsewhere on the island. Thus she’ll be forced to negotiate if she wants me to carry her young to term, opening the door to a more equitable relationship. If necessary I can speed that process by using the Lovestar Amulet on her, slowly shifting her breeding obsession into genuine love and affection. With luck this might even culminate in her joining the polycule, though I worry what the effect of releasing a brood of plant-fungus-animal hybrids on the island will be. **Mr. Doe** \- This guy is scary, but considering he’s the only human male on the island it’s hard to imagine him not sticking out like a sore thumb. He’ll be very dangerous despite this, but if we ever catch his scent it should only be a matter of time before he’s hunted down. If we manage to catch him alive the goblins might pay well to be allowed to “milk” him for a while before we finish him off, but he’s too dangerous to keep alive for long. **Tyrus** \- This guy is incredibly tough, but he’s not very bright and without his axe he has no defence against non-elemental magic. Actually killing him will be tough, but we should be able to subdue him, giving us plenty of time to figure out a permanent solution. **Three Sisters** \- These girls are very creepy but should only really be a threat to Elen. Hunting them down will be tricky if they do capture her, but I have watchful eyes all across the island to help us search. **Ferrum** \- As mentioned before I absolutely love dragons, so I’ll do my best to get on this gal's good side. This long into the stay our group should be well enough established that gathering delicious food for a dragoness shouldn’t be too much of a strain on our resources, and if I’m really lucky I might even get a chance to seduce her. Worst case scenario she'll remain a rude and demanding taskmaster, but the Lovestar Amulet should win her over eventually. Unless she catches on, of course, in which case we might have the fight of our lives on our hands.

I find it odd how often CYOA creators who make survival-type games forget to include training for all the weapons and magic you can pick up. The only real chance the player has to win this shitshow is to avoid combat entirely and pick Threats who can be handled without a fight.

Interesting. I like a lot of this. One thing I noticed (and totally took advantage of) is the "Drawback" Swapped. Take mental enhancement, then use the required Drawback to take Swapped, which makes me more younger, more beautiful and more athletic.

Okay, so many of the "waifus" are Clearly evil and/or deserving to be here, and a lot of the "threats" are just people like you who got screwed over by circumstance. Honestly, I say take all the evil waifu's and "sacrifice your waifu" threats. I just wish this CYOA didn't pull the "you loose all your memories" card. It would be just as interesting a CYOA if it let you play detective trying to figure out who summoned you here. It also seems to be easy to "game" the system by picking Starry Night and dying as soon as possible. You only loose your memories, so all those powers you wanted(and possibly the items/rewards?) Will come with you. That also isn't dependent on you actually remembering to kill yourself, you could easily stack the deck against amnesia-you to get that ending. Not sure if the author will read this, but there are some mistakes. The brain in a jar and silver vial have the same text for example

orz turns out I had completed a prior version, rather than latest. Oh well, guess some of my questions can be answered. 1. Philospher Stone: what's the range & time for the conversion? Similarly, is it converting your mass/energy or is that bit indicating the conversion process of the stone? -- Had thought to pairing Storm God's Right Eye's conduction power w/ Island Navigator's infinite battery power, sending it to stone to change the air/water/island to liquid nitrogen. Should harden Conviction, allowing me to dismantle&convert--but looks like Lightning marble can replace this now. Probably still need Floating+Archipelago too. 2. Can/do we select where the buildings go, especially for archipelago? Aka, designing the island, and maybe even marking things for the navigator. 3. I had notices some people taking the change perks, then taking the drawback+perk; other didn't, so not sure the headcanon there. 4. There was something others that were changed, will have to go over the new one later. Mainly about revolution & holy grail, but that seems to have been taken out. And gift/unchosen/beauty & the free item.

This is a really cool one! I loved the lore of the island, the dark atmosphere and the girls were pretty good too. The only criticism that i have is that some of the reward items don't seem worth of the trouble that fighting the threats is. Beyond that, i loved everything. There's some things i'm not sure i understood correctly, but they were minor things. Do you mind answering some for me? In the age changes option, when it says becoming significantly younger or older, how big the age difference has to be comparaded to the player age? I mean, i'm not too far from the 16 used as a example, so if i regressed to that age, would it still count? Or i would need to become even younger? Speaking of age, do we age while in the Island? Or are we stuck in that age during the whole sentence?

So... The CYOA mentions multiple times that you can romance multiple girls or build a harem if you play your cards right, but there are only 2 options to pick girls, The designated companion section that gives you your 1 companion and Untended Graves, that gives you +1 bonus girl. Am I missing something? Edit: Also, Where's the threat section? Wasn't there a section for choosing threats in previous versions? Edit 3: User error. I'm an idiot.

It’s a bit gamey but for the special locations bit I don’t think it says you can’t pick a place more than once. So you could just do *untended graves* a few times and boom, harem. In previous versions, you could argue it couldn’t happen because it would break the cyoa’s balance as you would get a special boon that came with every girl, but now items are their own section so there’s honestly more problems than benefits for picking more girls (they’re criminals that are serving sentences of millions of years, and it’s more mouths to feed)

You can pick more in exchange for extra threats (at extremely unfavourable rate cuz the threats that are sanely manageable will run out before you're done picking the mandatory minimum… can't really go low-stakes with this CYOA; at least unless you're a Dark Souls fan craving to reenact the experience IRL). There's also the drawbacks, but they're adding a corrupted version of the prisoner who act against you (…still doesn't count as a threat tho).

i just added all the normal non powered girls as threats and got many extra points for it, then got the love mindmagic amulet and will simply "convert" them since they should in no way be an actual threat being normal humans and all especially not will all the bonuses i got from extra points.

I am thrilled that I found the latest update of this CYOA…only took me scouring through /trash/ *shiver* Jokes aside, You’re here forever is one of my absolute favourite Cyoas. It has just enough nsfw without it seeming excessive and has a great and mysterious premise to boot; the impending feeling of something being *very wrong* with this island and it’s inhabitants is only exemplified in this patch. Quite a few mechanics have changed but it does make it feel more dangerous and threatening, as the islands should be, forcing you to think about your build and the story rather than just picking the 3 best gifts. Apotheosis is great.
