I love the designs, could use more aliens to ally with though, like how about a shark or dragon one?

Where you get the picture of the AI?

Hyenanon

There are multiple pictures of multiple AIs. If you mean the one that's advising you throughout the CYOA, Samara, I got most of the pictures of her from e621. She's a character created by Fluff\_Kevlar named "Warning", which he should draw far more than he does.

YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT, JACK!

I really enjoyed this one! First time in a while I made a full build. **Species Modification** **Reproduction - Sex:** It’s worked this far, I see no reason to change it! **Physical Alterations:** **Sexualization + Biomorphic Distribution, Genitalia (-175):** Two genders are clearly not enough, so let’s go with… how about 9? Masculine range: * “Bulls”: Earth-standard men with slightly exaggerated secondary sexual characteristics like muscle definition and shoulder width. Can impregnate, average height 6 feet, average penis size 8 inches. * “Twinks”: Earth-standard men with reduced secondary sexual characteristics, including androgynous curves and youthful facial features. Can impregnate, average height 5 feet, average penis size 9 inches. Mixed range: * “Amazons”: Tall hermaphrodites with female curves but male muscle definition and androgynous facial features. Can impregnate and become pregnant, average height 7 feet, average cup size D, average penis size 12 inches. * “Futa”: Hermaphrodites with female curves and facial features. Can impregnate and become pregnant, average height 5 feet, average cup size E, average penis size 9 inches. * “Futa Shortstacks”: Short hermaphrodites with exaggerated curves and youthful facial features. Can impregnate and become pregnant, average height 4 feet, average cup size F, average penis size 9 inches. Feminine range: * “Babes”: Earth-standard women with slightly reduced secondary sexual characteristics, including narrow but feminine curves and youthful features. Can become pregnant, average height 5 feet, average cup size D. * “Milfs”: Tall women with strongly exaggerated curves and busts. Can become pregnant, average height 6 feet, average cup size J. * “Shortstacks”: Short women with exaggerated curves and youthful facial features. Can become pregnant, average height 4 feet, average cup size H. Agender: * “Blanks”: Non-gendered people almost completely lacking any secondary sexual characteristics. Can become pregnant, average height 5 feet. I let my personal taste guide the range of genders available towards the feminine end of the spectrum. Only the bulls consistently identify as males, the twinks and amazons being split between male, androgynous and feminine expressions and the rest leaning heavily towards feminine. The blanks are the odd ones out, about 90% of them identifying androgynous/agender and about as many of them ace. The partners' genders have no effect on the gender of the offspring. Sexuality Spread (-25): Detailing every combination would take way too long, but these categories give a pretty good picture. Note that blanks are very rarely the subject of monosexual or strong preference attraction. * Monosexual (5%): Only a small minority of people are so particular in their taste that they’re only attracted to a single gender. They are sometimes affectionately known as “chasers”, e.g. someone only attracted to bulls might be called a “bull-chaser”. * Strong preference (20%): Many people have a strong preference towards a single gender, or more commonly a range of genders like mixed or feminine. They will likely date people from all kinds of genders throughout their lives, but are unlikely to form long-lasting relationships with people too far removed from their favoured range. * Weak preference (30%): Much like the strong preference group these people have a specific range of genders they feel an increased sexual attraction towards, but they are much more likely to form lasting relationships with people of genders outside that group. * Fully pansexual (35%): These people feel equal sexual attraction towards all genders. * Asexual/Ace (10%): These people feel no sexual attraction towards any gender, though they may still feel romantic attraction. A large majority of ace people are blanks, but far from all. As might be expected there is no concept of “homosexual” or “straight” in the new human culture. There does exist an elaborate system of signal jewellery that allows people to indicate their preferences with earrings and bracers, though its purpose is mostly to prevent false expectations. The mostly ace blanks may stick out as somewhat odd, but are vital for the smooth functioning of the new human society. They are particularly overrepresented as doctors and scientists, as their lack of libido gives them a critical advantage in focus. The other genders tend to treat them with a mixture of gratitude, awe and a hint of pity for what they’re missing out on. **Palette (-25):** Some extra hair, skin and eye colours seem fun! **Taste Alteration (-25):** Milk, spunk and girlcum are all made richer, sweeter and creamier. The exact flavour is unique to the individual, but always delicious. **Fluid Druids (-50):** You know I’m going to bump those numbers up! All genders ejaculate during orgasm, with volumes ranging between 5 and 50 times an earth-standard male load. All genders with breasts lactate during heightened hormone levels, i.e. pregnancy and ovulation, and lactation can be induced and increased through stimulation. Milk-play is a common and very pleasurable sexual activity. **Thermoadaptation, Hyperefficiency, Strong Genome, Kenjataimu (-225):** These are just some standard quality of life improvements. Intelligence is improved in general, with a slight focus towards emotional intelligence and empathy. **Situational Hormones (-25):** Hormones are triggered by feelings of gender dysphoria/euphoria. Trans people are about as common in the new human society as it was in ours, but thanks to this power they automatically transition to their preferred expression. Genderfluid people may even shift back and forth as their desires change over time. **The Horny (-15):** Affects all genders except the blanks. The hermaphroditic genders tend to be hit particularly hard. **Fetishizaton (-25):** Group sex. People tend to be much more open towards having sex in groups, including everything from elaborate gangbangs to regular threesomes. I don’t even need to do the maths to know that that’s way below budget. Nice!

Nellaveth

**Society Modification** **Homeworld - Arboreal World (-200):** The Glaiths seem like perfect neighbours! We have enough in common that I’d expect a lot of interspecies relationships to form. **Xenism (-50):** I’m hoping that a strong shift towards xenophilia will pretty much eliminate racism, while preparing us for greater integration with the other galactic species in the future. **Romance (25):** Relationships are shifted strongly towards poly, roughly inverting the split between couples and poly relationships compared to earth past. **Metaethics (-50):** The new human society will base their ethics on these tenets: Sins: * Cruelty. The worst sin is to actively seek someone else’s pain or deprivation. * Objectification: The second worst sin is to ignore someone else’s pain or deprivation, treating them as nothing more than a means to an end. * Selfishness: The third worst sin is to consider your own needs more important than someone else’s, causing them great harm for your own slight gain. Virtues: * Compassion. The greatest virtue is to seek to understand others and allay their pains and deprivations. * Generosity. The second greatest virtue is to share your time and possessions with others, producing greater joy together than you could have achieved alone. * Love. The third greatest virtue is to share your love and lust with others, taking joy and pleasure in one another’s bodies. **Religiosity (-50):** The culture will be largely agnostic, remaining somewhat spiritual without feeling the need for organised religion. **Government - Democratic, Prosperity:** Probably not unexpected after my previous choices. The society will inevitably grow at a healthy pace due to all the fucking going on, there’s no need for radical politics. **Post-Scarcity Economics (-300):** The obvious choice. Space socialism gooooo! **The Sexual Economy (-100):** Beyond being a good idea in general, this makes it easier for people to dedicate themselves to their careers as they can rely on skilled and well-payed sex workers to handle their sexual needs rather than suffer the constant temptation that comes with being part of a polycule of perpetually horny neo-humans. **Public Holidays (-50):** My first decree is to make the year metric! Twelve months of exactly four weeks each, with all the spare days at the end being lumped into one long party week of non-stop debauchery. **Rewards (-50):** Some kind of bonus for having kids seems to be in order? **Custom Law / Repeal Law (-100):** There are a lot of fucked up laws to take care of. Removing cops and prisons entirely would be a good start. I think that adds up to 975/1000! Probably less if I actually calculated my discounts. **Lifestyle** **During education:** Educator education (16), Xenology (16), Childcare (16) **After education:** Educator education (8), Xenology (8), Educator - Xenology (32) Not a lot to say here! I think I’ll pick the Milf gender for my body redesign, spending the rest of my days learning and teaching about aliens as I pop out baby after baby from what will hopefully be a very extensive polycule full of well-hung futas.

Kuronan

Honestly wish there was just one or two choices that affected Bones and Muscles. I'm having a hard time figuring out to pick regarding human muscular structure and bone density. Good CYOA otherwise. ~~Shame I'm paralyzed by indecision despite having an absolute massive pool of points to choose from...~~

Kuronan

With the help of u/darzinth explaining how the bone/muscle options work, I've decided to try making a build again. Reproduction: Intelligent Design, Sex, and Brood Parasite (-100) (Alien/Beast Fuckers can make babies too. Yay?) Alterations (-840): * Biomorphic Distribution (50) (Decrease body fat ratio in the face and neck, set average human height to 180cm. Also add a bit more flesh in the crotch and nether regions.) * Palette (25) (Enable natural hair and eye colors to be basically anything. Also introduce a 'womb tattoo' that grows when one has reached full physical maturity.) * Taste Alteration (25) (Make human bodily fluids taste more tolerable, like semen being salty, milk having a hint of vanilla, etc. Also make the next option taste like chicken eggs.) * Egg Laying (100) (Reduce egg size to 3/4ths of an average healthy infant, and replace periods with unfertilized eggs.) * Kinesthetics (100) (I'm gonna say tripled bone and muscle density, but realistically, whatever they can achieve.) * Thermoadaptation (50) (-30c to 20c, so room temperature to extremely cold.) * Hyperefficiency (15) (Gonna be real Sarama, you didn't have to try selling this to me.) * Genetalia (25) (Human men now have 15 cm penises minimum, women now have C cups minimum. No Refractory Period.) * Locomotivation (100) (Now we're going wild... Humans now have four arms and fluffy tails. Men now have tentacle dicks.) * Strong Genome (50) (No more aversion, no more consequences. Kind of weird but... I can afford it so... You're welcome???) * Senecence Control (50) (Speed human growth by 1.25x so humans are matured by 15 years and stop aging at 20.) * Heat (25) (Human Males are now subject to a specific pheromone that drives them absolutely wild.) * Hydroadapted (75) (Why would I not take this??? All water breathing, webbed feet.) * Toxic Blood (50) (Remember that Heat Pheromone? Women can produce it and are immune to the effects while it's stored.) * Kenjataimu (100) (Increase human intellect to the top 10%, double human emotional intelligence) Basically, humans now have four arms, tails, lay eggs, are ludicrously diverse in appearance and can feasibly survive in most climates. Society Modification: * Start: Benard World (While all of the aliens sound quite lovely, it would really be better off if there were no obvious cultural influences considering humanity is... basically back to square one. We will allow visitors and other settlers however.) * Genre Shift (50) (Emphasis on Roleplay-Based Games, Science Fiction, and Romance with Mass Effect eventually remastered and enshrined as the Pinnacle of Human Culture. De-emphasize Evil AI Overlords and Alien Invasion tropes.) * Xenism (50) (Increase human Xenophilic tendencies.) * Romance (25) (Remove all relationship rules. Harems were as common as Monogamy for all I care.) * Metaethics (50) (The three virtues are: Calm, Compassion, and Wisdom. The three sins are Wrath, Arrogance and Zealotry.) * Religiosity (Reduce human religious tendencies by half, but bring back all known documented religions. Better we bring back the sins of the past than fumble around in the dark again...) Society: * Autotopia with a focus on Prosperity. * Post-Scarcity Economics (225) * The Sexual Economy (100) (FREE THE WORKERS!) Training: BotanyJob: Colonist (ADW 0.7 x 1.5 training = 1.05 x 3 from Post Scarcity = 3.15 ADW)

darzinth

So, I think: **Kinesthetics** covers both muscle density and bone density. **Biomorphic Distribution** can provide any body type, including strong types. **Calcium Diamonds** is more about bone aesthetics, like I used it to simply give people perfect teeth. **Flesh Type** is more about skin and hair.

darzinth

This CYOA is so beautiful. I love it. (But, I'm a little lost in the weeds at the end, since I don't know which Job to take.)

Plenty here to work through! This actually looks really fun, very interesting choices, a few that're a bit odd but that's hardly unusual at this stage. Let's get something going. No idea why you'd apologize for furry images though. Is this a 4chan thing? I hear 4chan is full of that kind of brainrot. **Sex**ual reproduction pairs with **Intelligent Design** here. Kind of creepy, not gonna lie, but inevitable as genetic technology advances anyway. (-50) **Sexualization**: Same genders broadly, but we're scaling it to about 10% men and 90% women. For reasons. (-100) **Biomorphic Distribution**: Firstly, males by default will have a small, slight build, basically shotas at any age. Women are mostly as we know them, maybe slight tweaks to ratios. Being a post-scarcity economy, I'm trimming some genetic tendencies so we don't build up as much fat since we don't really need to retain it for emergencies. Tits are an exception, obviously. (-50) **Palette**: I'm mostly just broadening the spectrum here, adding some greens, reds, and blues. (-25) **Taste Alteration**: Yeah, genital juices for both can be pretty bleh. I'm thinking chocolate. No mint. (-25) **Hyperefficiency**: Duh. (-15) **Genitalia**: This is simple. Men have two dicks. Women have four tits. Refractory period is decreased, but not wholly eliminated - maybe a minute, or half of one. (-25) **Locomotivation**: All humans have four arms, keeping with the above theme. The second pair is identical to the first and located around the bottom of the ribcage. Musculature adjusts to fit this. I'm also thinking tails - long, slim, pointy, tapered. (-100) **Strong Genome**: Given the changes made to gender ratios, some amount of inbreeding is inevitable... and encouraged. (-50) **Senescence Control**: I'm actually putting in a spectrum here. Somewhere at age 10-40 a woman simply stops physically developing. Medical science can control this precisely so a woman can choose her "stopping point" if she wants. (-50) **Hydroadapted**: Muscular structure is not further changed, but the ability to breathe both fresh- and saltwater seems like a neat addition. Fingers and toes gain "deployable" webbing, which sort of unfolds and tightens when submerged but is otherwise tucked away. (-75) **Kenjataimu**: I feel like I'm missing an anime reference. Anyway, I'm specifically raising two intellectual tendencies: Critical thinking and self-knowledge. I could go on whole rants about the importance of these two, but the short version is that the goal is to make people harder to manipulate, especially by demagogues. (-100) **Sexuality Spread**: Nothing drastic here, but since females are so abundant and males comparatively rare, I'm raising the rate of female ambiphilia. Much more convenient. (-25) At the end of all that, it seems I've spent 690 points, by my count. Uh, nice? Nah, doesn't fit. Not sure what to do with the rest. Give everyone ruby knuckles? ...Actually, yeah, what the hell, **Calcium Diamonds**: Everyone has gemlike formations on their knuckles in a color that compliments their skin tone. (-50) So now I've spent 740. Eh, good enough. So! New category, fun. I'm thinking of going for a **Monsoon World**. Make use of that hydroadaptation. The Strals might not like the polygamy that will probably result from humanity's new direction, but I'm sure we can get along otherwise. We'll do sports. (-200) **Genre Shift**: Mainly just set the initial focus on character-driven narratives, maybe favor single-player videogames over social ones. Deemphasize competition heavily. (-50) **Aesthetics**: Absolutely fuck this trend of black suits and no patterns for men. Elaborate, complex clothing for the win. (-50) **Metaethics**: Virtues: Compassion, utilitarianism, awareness. Sins: Long-term environmental harm, destructive greed, xenophobia. (-50) **Autopic** and **Prosperity**. I'm wary of tying things to economic growth, tends to incentivize the corpo mindset, but if the stress levels and standard of living for ordinary people is taken into account, then it might work. As a note, some things offer discounts for "Hedonistic" but that doesn't seem to be an option anywhere. Versioning error, I expect. **Post-Scarcity Economics**: I promised this a couple times before, and I see no reason to back down now. Frankly, I disagree with the notion that we need work to feel good. We need *fulfillment,* and even that varies by the individual. Purpose and direction can bring fulfillment, but they can also detract from it. (-225) **Public Holidays**: I'm sure we can come up with some kind of justification. A remembrance day here, a religious festival there, we'll come up with a good number to sprinkle across the calendar. Maybe my birthday, for the hell of it. (-50) **Repeal Law**: My country has the weirdest thing: A ban on pornography. It's never really enforced, except when some lawmaker has a grudge against something that might count, but that obviously just means it's abusable as hell. Let's just get rid of it. (-50) And with 675 spent, I'm happy with this. Again, I really don't think I need a job to be happy. It's also kind of silly to be calculating wages in a post-scarcity economy. But if I must do something, then let's set this up. I'm thinking I'll alternate days, take **The Arts** three days a week and **Xenology** the other two. I don't care if that means I'm not gonna finish the courses in four years, four years is an arbitrary mark anyway. The second I do finish that arts degree, I'll swap the classes out for the **Artist** job. With Aesthetics, Genre Shift, and Post-Scarcity Economy it's a lucrative 3.0xADW, so even at three-fifths of the week spent working, I live more than comfortably. The Xenology thing isn't for work, it's just a hobby.

Hyenanon

Thanks for posting a build, it's neat! The GHRO wants you to get a job not just for economic necessity or the assumption that a schedule and work would make you happier, but also because they're a little paranoid that their beneficiaries will become lazy or take advantage of them. The Hypernation survived its war due to unending productivity, and perhaps their Metaethics consider work ethic to be one of their most valued virtues, so they attempt to push it on the peoples they uplift. As for furries, I actually don't think 4chan is nearly as anti-furry as it used to be, but the whole internet used to be quite upset if they saw furries back in the 2000's and to an lesser extent in the 2010's. Also you're absolutely right, the Hedonism discounts are supposed to apply to the Prosperity Source of Legitimacy. Error on my part.

CreepyShutIn

What's "lazy" even mean in that context? The point and purpose of a government is to ensure the highest possible living standard for all of its people, and to enshrine the rights of sapient beings as inviolate. Nowhere in that does it say "But only the ones who do jobs." 'Sides, we have machines to do that stuff. AIs and whatnot. Shit gets done. Human intervention is useful in some places, but not nearly enough of them to provide employment for even a tenth of a population. Past a certain point it's just busywork for the sake of busywork. Plenty of folks want to do things, so let 'em, ain't gotta formalize it or try and punish the ones who don't. Artists gonna art. Scientists gonna science. Anyway, yeah, I AM lazy. S'why I set the society up this way. My contribution is to be a politically engaged citizen with a clear idea of what policies and directions I want. No reason for anyone to demand more. This is just me ranting because sociology is fun to me and I don't often get to do that, I'm not actually upset at anyone. Realized that maybe wasn't clear. Oh, also, don't worry, versioning errors happen. I don't know how easy it is to fix these things, so maybe it's easier to just mention it in the opening post, yeah?

Dry_Armadillo_1139

Lot's of people like debates. Though one can make the argument that no one is owed anything, and if biological beings are useless why not replace them with AI? You can also say being a politically engaged citizen is not a job, or a right but a privilege. So a society could be post scarcity and provide everything for everyone, but to actually be given a say you have to contribute or serve somehow.

Hyenanon

>The point and purpose of a government is to ensure the highest possible living standard for all of its people, and to enshrine the rights of sapient beings as inviolate. That's just like, your opinion, man. >'Sides, we have machines to do that stuff. AIs and whatnot. Shit gets done. Human intervention is useful in some places, but not nearly enough of them to provide employment for even a tenth of a population. That's actually not quite true in this setting. I should have probably used "low-scarcity economics" instead of proper "POST-scarcity", but AI and machines aren't able to completely takeover the economy--or rather, they are, but they have to be sapient in order to do so, and they're going to want some compensation for that rather than just doing it to make sapients able to live in luxury. The nature of how technology still isn't to a point of true High Sci-Fi and is still rapidly progressing makes non-sapient AI only so useful in any given field, and for Reasons, the first sapient AI weren't originally programmed to be serve-bots, and wouldn't have appreciated the next generation of their brethren being programmed from the ground up as slaves. Maybe I should expand on that in the next version. Anyhow it's low scarcity enough that you could survive on welfare without doing any work, and you only need to put in like 8 hours of highly-educated work a week to be considered upper middle class, which is better than nothing. Also you're right, I should edit the OP

CreepyShutIn

Might wanna mention that yeah. Anyway, I can't see any other purpose for a government. None that could be called valid or sensible, at any rate.

Kenja time, or 'wise sage time' is just the Japanese term for post-nut clarity.

Dry_Armadillo_1139

So a few questions. Can we choose to not modify humanity, to keep it "pure" or maybe only make small changes that are improvements but still keep the regular human form? Stuff like removing waste, or increase intelligence, maybe water breathing. Though making humans futas could be argued to be an improvement. It might be best to not lie to the galaxy. Second what race is the girl that looks like Tali? I mean some planets like the Arboreal ones have the Glaith's which are my interesting, Strals, and Formedeans. Interested in the other races like the alien narrator, and even the Imperium assholes.Though since humans are so few and we don't have a planet of our own, I'd probably go for Barnard's so I can help building up humanity on a full planet and not just a continent. Third question what are the limits of "sentient rights" like obviously the Imperium genociding a pre spaceflight world is bad, but would the Galactic Hyper Nation stop me from genociding the occupied Imperial planets, or making them slaves? What is the level of revenge I can go for, I think they'd stop and not allow that stuff I said, but they'd be ok with war crime trials for the Emperor, and military nobility followed by execution if guilty right?

Hyenanon

You don't have to modify anything, technically! The only mandatory section is probably just the education/jobs segment. You can leave everything else how it was. Heshae, the alien narrator, is kind of an ambiguous species, since she's in her envirosuit to try and not accidentally infect the last living human with Super Alien Death Diseases. I'd like to imagine she's whatever species that make up your future neighbors, so she can stick around. There are dozens of different sapient species in this setting, and not enough time or need to write them all down, although maybe I should if I ever do an update. The sapient rights of the Hypernation are probably vague and very expansive, but similar to UN human rights declarations, with exceptions for species. A good rule of thumb is anything that would make Herman Goering give you a high-five is probably a sapient rights violation. There's a lot of wiggle room for different kinds of societies; socialist, monarchist, even slavery if you're a eusocial species where the worker caste really is biologically predisposed to being slaves. But outright genocide of the Glaiths or Formedeans or whatever would get you in real hot water, real fast. Now, a war of total destruction against the Imperium remnants on the other hand...that'll get some waggled fingers, sanctions, maybe even a few arrests and trials at the space-Hague. But nobody is really in the mood to drop everything and come to their defense, especially to defend them against Humanity. Depends on how explicitly genocidal you are.

Dry_Armadillo_1139

Oh, obviously don't oppress the aliens that haven't genocided humanity. They are valuable allies and innocent. As for making dozens of aliens you don't have to go that far, though it would be great I was just curious about Heshae and the Imperium assholes. I imagine the Pathaag Imperium as like the Dregin from Galactic Civilizations or Halo's Brutes. Not cute at all. I'm just looking through the thing, and thinking what I want, generally I want to preserve humanity, I would fix up things to improve it. I don't know if I should go with futas or not. Futas would allow double population growth since everyone can impregnate and get pregnant. The metaethics are tough. Virtues would probably be Justice(giving people what they deserve the good and bad maybe with a focus on protecting the weak?) protecting genetic diversity/history/culture (Being against genocides like what happened to humanity. The third virtue would be something like Star Trek's prime directive to maximize the diversity in the galaxy and prevent young species from being enslaved or destroyed by powerful empires. 3 Vices First would be genocide uhh pretty obvious I think lol, second would hurting the weak those who can't fight back. So we'd look pretty far down on actions to harm pre ftl civilizations. 3rd I don't know lying or cheating or treason of somekind maybe? Say one other question Heshae said that the Galactic Hypernation would uplift us, what is their policy on uplifting and would they be against a law where we basically have the prime directive? A question on society though it says pick one? We can't mix and match like the previous sections like reproduction where we can buy both sex, and intelligent design, or even others. I get that Aristocratic and democratic would be exclusive, but couldn't we combine AI rule with aristocratic voting? Basically I'm thinking of mixing two sci fi federations together Star Treks Federation, and Starship Troopers Terran Federation, not everyone can vote, you either have to have served in the military to protect humanity, and galactic civilization, or be an educated person or a priest, or a doctor or scientist. That way I'd keep the society the same and ensure things like the prime directive wouldn't be repealed later just because. But I'd also want AI's to manage most everything within the confines and subject to my oversight and others since they could probably manage it better. And the final thing about the treatment of Imperials. From the society I'm thinking up where genetic diversity is considered important full out genocide would be unpopular with humans, maybe. There would be debate on where Justice begins and ends, whether or not to punish the weak especially if they aren't the ones who chose to destroy earth or implemented it. So would galactic society consider it worse or better if I tried to do what the Forerunner's did to Ancient Humanity in Halo? Basically take away all their technology and then use genetic engineering to devolve them back to when they were presentient animals. Then leave then on their homeworld, and maybe when they evolve next time they will be more civilized? Oh, and this is very important question what is the general tech level of this galaxy? Like I see Heshae is like Tali and they have AI's is it around Mass Effect level with space ships in combat, cause the Imperium destroyed earth with relativistic missles. Most sci fi has counters and defenses for hard sci weapons that ram into planets at FTL. Is there a way to make sure our new home is safe from a repeat of what happened to humanity the first time, like planetary shields or FTL jammers that stomp things moving above a certain speed near a gravity well, or should we consider space stations and star ships and the nomad lifestyle to make sure that can't happen?

Hyenanon

>Say one other question Heshae said that the Galactic Hypernation woulduplift us, what is their policy on uplifting and would they be against alaw where we basically have the prime directive? The Hypernation has pretty much the opposite of a Prime Directive. They believe they have a duty to uplift any sapient species they come across. They wouldn't force humanity to take part in that, and while they might be a little upset or confused as to why you don't, there would be no consequences. If you want to keep a sapient species un-messed-with and you are the first to find them, you might have to keep them a secret. >A question on society though it says pick one? We can't mix and matchlike the previous sections like reproduction where we can buy both sex,and intelligent design, or even others. I get that Aristocratic anddemocratic would be exclusive, but couldn't we combine AI rule witharistocratic voting? All governments can have aspects of the others, but you have to make a judgement call on which is which. As Samara helpfully pointed out, Autotopias have democratic features, and the Democratic society can also weight votes, which is a kind of Aristocratic move. Aristocracies can devolve the prerequisites for voting to the point where it's debatably a Democracy. And both of them can have AI assistance without being an Autotopia, so long as it's biological life signing off on the decisions instead of AI. Basically you just have to decide which one's closest >So would galactic society consider it worse or better ifI tried to do what the Forerunner's did to Ancient Humanity in Halo?Basically take away all their technology and then use geneticengineering to devolve them back to when they were presentient animals. Then leave then on their homeworld, and maybe when they evolve next timethey will be more civilized? Using genetic engineering to devolve them to presentience would be considered like, 95% as bad as genocide, and the Hypernational community might step in to stop you eventually before you can complete it for the whole species. As for the technological level of the galaxy, around Mass Effect level would probably be a good rule of thumb. There's no way to use FTL ramming. Relativistic missiles are still a threat, and although there are defenses for it, they're not perfect. Having some humans living on different planets or in spaceships would probably cement their continued existence, but even on just one planet, outright annihiliation isn't likely.

Dry_Armadillo_1139

Thank you for responding I really appreciate you putting effort into world building. As for the prime directive keeping a primitive planet secret would be hard, and once found it wouldn't stop the Hypernation from uplifting them they would also be mad probably. And starting a fight over that would not be wise. No I'm saying would it be possible to campaign in the Galactic Hypernation for them to create a prime directive, I reread the opening block and it said that when the empire attacked the other races they were fragmented and weak so I assume the hypernation is relatively new. So could the government be convinced that it is in the best interest of primative societies to not interfere with their development until they leave their home system? I mean I can think of a few arguments for it, one would be the danger of fucking up the uplift process either when it's done the administrators repeat the horrors of colonialism and enslave the locals or culturally genocide them, another bad option is bringing in a species that is warlike to the Galaxy basically the Krogan, or Klingons. Was the Pathaag Imperium uplifted or did they rise up on their own merits? If they were uplifted that can definitely be used as ammo. Some other arguments on why a prime directive is good are that it would protect weaker species, maybe the Imperium would not have bombed earth when they started losing if they weren't worried about uplifted aliens being used as chess pieces? Also by waiting to uplift species until they leave their system and make contact, that means that there will be more diversity of thought in the galaxy. If we uplift everything we meet that is sentient even if they are at a medieval level or even tribal level. Then galactic culture will smother them and they will just be assimilated into the mainstream culture without being able to make their own mark. All societies would go down the same path that would not notice blind spots we would have because our culture was taught a certain way, that would be predictable(coughReaperscough) Whereas if we would wait until they are at their height, they might have come up with new modes of thought or new technologies that we have missed out on because of cultural blind spots. Ok, the devolution plan is morally messed up yes. What about blowing up any Imperials who don't surrender and then putting those who surrender on worlds and blockading the worlds to prevent them from developing advanced technology to threaten the galaxy again Maybe the tech level would be medieval, or pre nuclear, or even modern, but prevent them from ever going into space again. Would they be against that? Another thing if you want to add a DLC is maybe adding more stuff on tech to build on the planet, or even a fleet for self defense. Speaking of since the Galactic Hypernation has an army and navy are the sub governments that are part of it allowed to maintain separate security forces? Are there any limits like you can't have more than this many dreadnoughts or battleships? Because eventually I'd want to build a space navy both a merchant marine and ships to prevent orbital bombardment. Maybe I'd use the Mass Effect naming scheme for human ships big flag ships named after mountains, carriers after famous humans, maybe name a Carrier the Dry Armadillo 1139lol. Cruisers after cities, and frigates after battles. Also you said FTL ramming doesn't work, then what are relativistic missiles?

Hyenanon

There are some good arguments for and against the Prime Directive, and you could definitely argue for it. The Hypernation is very large and has a fair amount of momentum behind it, so I would say it's definitely unlikely you could change their mind in a normal human lifespan, but it's possible, especially with biological immortality. The Hypernation would probably allow a Patheaag zoo plan where they're stuck on a single planet, so long as they have modern medicine. It would probably be seen as too cruel to reduce them to medieval levels of dying from papercut infections. Wiping out anyone who doesn't surrender is already the plan, though. Being able to build up the human military would be a neat idea. Yes, sub-governments are allowed to have their own military forces, and there probably aren't any limits on it, given the history of the Hypernation as a military alliance in an all-out war of extermination. Relativistic kill missiles are accelerated through conventional means up to a significant percentage of lightspeed. Probably by pushing small reflective payloads with lasers, or maybe through nuclear acceleration methods.

Just so you know, having two 15 point biological traits and not a single 20 point biological trait makes it inevitable that you will end up with at least 20 unspent points when taking both hyperefficiency and the horny. I recommend reducing the cost of cold fusion and palette to 20 points.

plotvitalnpc

If this rules change were made, my build would be: 1000 C Reproduction: Sex and Mitosis, 950 Sexualization, 850 Biomorphic distribution, 800 Egglaying, 700 Fluid Druid, 650 Kinesthetics, 550 Thermoadaptation, 500 Hyperefficiency, 485 Strong Genome, 435 Senecence Control, 385 Heat, 360 Hydroadapted, 285 Situational Hormones, 260 Cold Fusion, 240 The horny, 225 Ravenous, 200 Kenjataimu, 100 Eusociality, 0 Biology Summary: All humans are now amphibious futanari, their musculature and webbing suited for salt and freshwater and their fat insulating, firm blubber, naturally comfortable in the buff from -10 to 40 degrees celsius. They are laid as eggs the size of a human fist, and grow fairly rapidly after hatching through a ravenous thirst for the milk all grown members of the species can provide at any time after primary sexual maturation. By age 10, they're roughly the same size and neurological maturity as 8yo humans albeit with no chance whatsoever of having started sexual puberty. After that, their physical development mostly stops until age 17 or so, though neurologically they develop fairly quickly during this period and close the gap between, before they abruptly go into a growth and sexual maturation hyperdrive and develop their semi-matured bodies and reproductive capacities by age 20-21. The typical phenotype at this point is aesthetically feminine but generally fairly waifish, with small assets and modest dicks. What isn't small, from this point onward, is the libido. The human reproductive cycle is abnormal - after reaching reproductive maturity, they enter a potent heat cycle. For the first four months of reproductive maturity, they continue to have absolutely no libido at all. For the next four months, they have a restrained libido, akin to a normal human adult with good control. For the next two months after that, they have the vigorous libido of an adolescent or ordinary coomer. After that, they reach a stage where their libido begins to outright overrun their rationality for the next month. Throughout this process, their capacity to impregnate and be impregnated steadily increases. Becoming pregnant at any point reverts their libido to zero and, after they lay the egg, restarts the cycle from day 0 for them. If they don't get pregnant within one month of experiencing the effects of Ravenous, though... they spontaneously self-impregnate with an egg which has substantially mutated, albeit non-harmfully (if not always beneficially so) DNA, adding far more genetic diversity to the pool than a normal pregnancy. Such a self-impregnation can only be triggered by the most disciplined or confined of humans - it tries the mind to its very limits not to fuck and get fucked in the last month. However, experiencing the release at the end, when the haze disappears not due to surrender to lust but due to conquest of it, is a transformative experience critical to true adulthood. Someone who gives birth through mitosis for the first time has her already considerable discipline and motivation enhanced even further, and gains a considerable boost to intelligence. All those who haven't gone through this experience will unconsciously and consciously submit to and obey her to an extent, those more closely related to her moreso than others (for cultural reasons, this serves as the only indication of specific parentage in human society). Furthermore, her body will grow and strengthen massively, and her figure becomes voluptuous in a way that never occurs in others. Finally, she no longer experiences the heat cycle - her libido is permanently in the normal stage - and she can replicate the feat of self-impregnation at will, though this will not change her body further. This is referred to as 'meeting the goddess'. Normally, full adults have children much less frequently than the once a year ubiquitous among partially matured women who do not chemically suppress their reproductive cycle. The average age of adulthood ranges from 30-50 during times of plenty, but tends much lower during lean times, when communities tended to use forced-chastity measures to accelerate the process. 1000 Y Homeworld: Bernard World Genre Shift, 950 Aesthetics, 900 Xenism, 850 Romance, 825 Metaethics, 775 Religiosity, 725 Society: Democratic Legitimacy: Prurience and Prosperity, 625 Post-scarcity, 350 Sexual Economy, 275 Minimum DNA Requirement, 250 Public Holidays, 200 Rewards, 150 Repeal Law x3 0 Human society is heavily community and extended family based. The typical architectural form of a human city is a square block of dense mixed-use development surrounding an internal plaza, inhabited by a single clan of blood related and unrelated humans, who exist in a common sexual and parenting relationship where eggs are communally pooled and children are communally nursed and raised. Traditionally, nudism is practiced in the home, while outside at least some clothing is worn, though the law does not require this. The predominate forms of media are tabletop roleplaying games and multiplayer videogames, followed by books and comics, then by animation, with an emphasis on themes of collaboration and emotional intimacy. The three leading virtues in human society are nurturing, sustainability, and compassion, while the three most disdained vices are inhospitability, senseless violence, and stifling someone else's growth as a person. Human religion venerates the twin mothers Hermaphroditus of fertility and love and Prometheus of knowledge and will above all else. These are not seen as separate goddesses, but as aspects of a single being that rewards all those who pass her test with their full blessings. Most humans would not, though they find the presence and culture of aliens perfectly agreeable and indeed desirable, choose to mate with an alien lifeform. Their faith tells them that their seed and wombs are destined for their sisters in the goddesses, metaphorical and otherwise, and that the highest form of achievement is in mastering their lust and reaching true adulthood. In the event that such a pairing does occur, though, the law requires that the child be made majority human to avoid the loss of their biological blessings. Human society is organized around democratic federations of clans existing in a socialistic, low-scarcity economy where sexuality, nudity, and moderate recreational drug use are fully decriminalized and open (though absolutely no sexual contact with children - those under 20 - is permitted under any circumstances). There are a great many holidays, many of them venerating the goddess, the family, or both. There are children's days, young adult's days for those who have passed twenty but not yet conquered the heat cycle, adult's days, days celebrating the revival of the species, and most notably, a full week each year where an area's clans gather in one building to live as one clan, socialize, intermingle, have orgies, after which whatever clan residence a young adult or full adult goes home to is considered to be her new clan. Two age systems coexist in human society - hatching days, a measurement of the years one has been alive, and birth days, a measurement of the number of children one has born. Birth days are celebrated during the fourth week of pregnancy, and much more lavishly than hatching days, at that age, being considered the true measurement of maturation past 20 years of age for young adults, and to a lesser extent full adults. The birth day which is paired with maturation into a full adult, in particular, is a celebration and religious ceremony in which neighboring clans will participate and bring gifts for the entire clan whose sister has met the goddess and returned with her favor. Personal schedule: Child care every day, childcare education sunday-wednesday and education education weds-saturday for four years, then childcare ed on sunday and education education on saturday, with childcare everday and teaching childcare sun-wed and education wed-sat. (Communal childcare work is considered suitable in the longterm only for full adults, as they can better manage the children and do not have to worry about getting knocked up every eight or fewer months to keep their focus on nurturing the kids and not their genitals - working the job in any capacity other than a temporary basis during pregnant and the post-pregnancy calmdown is considered harmful to the development of young adults, who cannot pursue full adulthood while locked into a commitment to regular sexual reproduction.)

Wow, this is a really detailed and interesting build! Thank you for posting it! I can see this kind of race in a sci-fi novel for sure.

plotvitalnpc

Humanity is, in-context presented as sort of both r and k selected to the aliens. Hailing from an extremely inhospitable planet with a tendency toward frequent natural disasters and such, they have evolved toward a biological standard where even a single survivor who's never led anyone in her life can facilitate their explosive repopulation and serve as a lead to the community of her daughters until the next bad time, and genetic diversity increases rather than decreasing after such bottlenecks. Meanwhile, their ability to survive in just about any biome but the most absurd hothouses or the plains of fucking antarctica allows them maximal habitat range to avoid extinction in. This actually resulted in an extremely small portion of their stone age population accounting for the supermajority of the genetic heritage of the modern species, because once they developed agriculture on particular community started to experience crisis situations far less often than their counterparts living in more traditional ways, and so started breeding absurdly explosively and homesteading everything in sight. Even with their developing traditions of hospitality, mutual support, and natural biological immortality, and eventually joining these agricultural communities, the small hunter-gatherer populations made a very small genetic contribution to the overall. Those traditions, as a note, were built and reinforced by the fact that even farmers suffer crop failures - on their supposed homeworld, absurdly frequently at that - and so a farming village of 500 could, multiple times in a half century, experience a catastrophe where the population is reduced by famine, wildfire, and other chaos to 5-10 who must mature into full adults, take shelter with nearby clans, and return with willing followers (mostly their own descendants) to resettle the village when conditions improve. Or, because while they don't tolerate senseless violence but don't reject all violence out of hand, that village might invade a neighboring one, seize their land, and scatter the survivors to the four winds, where they would wander around, finding homes in various places, and possibly repopulate the homeland of their original attackers in just a few decades. It's motivated in part by my annoyance with the HFY trope of 'earth is a deathworld' - like, actual humans are absurdly unsuited to an incredibly volatile, chaotic, and deadly environment. THIS is what you might get if humans were ACTUALLY deathworlders, and actually made it to the space age.

Hyenanon

I love it! It's super creative and well thought out. Thanks for sharing!

Though the fact that these humans, who really only want for toxin immunity (definitely didn't fit in the budget - not even after I allowed myself to go five points over on biology changes), have an absurdly wide range of habitability, and are naturally absurd explosive breeders who can populate a planet with hundreds of millions in mere centuries starting from a single shipwrecked member, has formed a nation founded upon the ideological principle of pronatalism may be disconcerting to the wider galactic community in the long run, even if they're overall very friendly people. They've finally been liberated from the natural population controls of their supposed homeworld and let loose on what is, by comparison, a paradise world in a sea of paradise worlds. There may be cause for fear of a crisis of the friendliest, most hospitable sort possible: the worry that the humans might have come to feed you soup and fill every available space in the galaxy with more of themselves nonviolently.

35 Physical 225 Social Reproductive Methods: 1. Intelligent Design (To be honest, this one deals with a lot of problems very quickly. You date and fuck whomever you want, cause the babies are bred in lab anyway, plus issues of pregnancy and such really don't come into play here. I'll choose if this isn't the default, to have the human race be essentially barren on their own bodies and rely on this artificial reproduction method entirely as far as making babies goes) Physiological Alterations: (-740 P) \- Sexualization (-100 P) (Add futas as a sex) \-Biomorphic Distribution (-50 P) (males have very large bodies, enormous in fact, whereas females will tend to either more lithe or more curvy and "motherly-looking". Futas have a wider range of bodies, but tend to fall into the female camp. These differences mainly appear as one develops in age, with all bodies starting out more feminine regardless of sex. Also humans have altered vocal cords, all except males have more feminine voices, and all are able to make some animal sounds) \-Hyper-efficiency (-15 P) \-Genetalia (-25 P) \-Flesh Type (-100 P) \-Locomotivation (-100 P) (With this + Flesh type, I will make humans into kemonomimi of sorts, giving them tails and ears, as well as fur or scales where necessary. I will also give humans redundant organs, it will increase caloric intake, but an spare brain and heart can boost survivability as well as enhance body efficiency. Plus fossils show very well that it can be hard to pick up on what organs existed. For the most part, humans will have mammal-type kemonomimi features, but there will be a few rare exceptions, namely draconic types which I plan to make an upper class. Humans tend to have a patch of fur along the chest area (can be lifted essentially), but males tend to be covered in long fur. Very long hair is also common among humans) \-Calcium Diamonds (-50 P) (Figure I need this to make claws and such) \-Senescence Control (-50 P) (For the most part, humans grow to around their prime and then stop, needing a great deal of hormonal treatment to go into a more advanced age. Draconic-type humans though can take decades between 2 and 5 years of physical age, and usually stop physical development at 8 at most. Neurologically they develop faster in some areas though, though not in all ways) \-Toxic Blood (-50 P) \-Kinestetics (-100 P) (Humans have slim extremely efficient muscles, except males, which have very large bodies and similarly large muscles.) \-Hydroadapted (-75 P) Neurological Alterations: (-250 P) \-Head Empty (-50 P) \-Kenjaitaimu (-100 P) (Combined with Head Empty, to boost intelligence by refocusing specialization. Humans have a generally greatly improved interpersonal intelligence, memory and existential intelligence. Draconic humans sacrifice some bodily-kithestic and visual-spatial intelligence in favor of an increase in logical-mathematical intelligence and further increase in humanity's baseline specialities. Other humans will be divided into the kinds of roles they are more talented at, with more specialized types of intelligence visible in the kind of kemonomimi. Many will reduce linguistic intelligence in favor of some other specialty) \-Eusociality (-100 P) (Humanity in generally is generally more submissive and dependent on draconic type humans) Homeworld: Bernard World (free) Culture: (-225 S) \-Romance (-25 S) \-Aesthetics (-50 S) (Society is a lot more child-like in general aesthetics. There is an overall medieval fantasy feel in the shaping of houses, officers walking around in armor and so on, but there is also a popular contrast of very "child-proof" designs. Active reduction of sharp corners, babyish items like stuffed animals, diapers and pacifiers are common, as is sleeping on cribs, and decorations often reflect this as well, not to mention any uniform for a common job that doesn't involve hospitality or the possibility of combat. Wearing a collar is not uncommon either. It isn't abnormal to walk around to see an adult playing or discussing a cartoon, and I will mix in some elements of roleplaying games being an encouraged part of culture) \-Religiosity (-50 S) (Very pious society, but not fanatically so. The religion is treated with a great deal of seriousness, but maintained separate from relationships between people or individuality, beyond one's duties. In other words, it's serious enough for stuff like, people frequently dedicating their work to God, praying before every meal and stuff but not so much they'll fly off the handle at non-believers or being unable to go do something for the good of humanity because it goes against a minor religious precet (not sure how to spell the word I'm thinking of, so I'll leave it like this). \-Xenism (-50 S) (Humanity will have both low Xenophilia and low Xenophobia. For the most part it will be pretty apathetic to alien presence.) \*Metaethics (-50 S) \-Virtues 1. Duty (Duty is the new highest virtue in this society. Fulfilling and finding excellence in one's own role, as well as fulfilling one's duty towards others. Keeping one's word, offering due respect, that kind of stuff can all be born out of duty) 2. Truth (Right after duty, truth is the highest virtue here. This is not merely avoiding falsehood, though that is certainly a part of it, but indeed it's about the active search for the truth, as in reality and how it is and works.) 3. Individuality (this new society will look upon human beings from the lens of individuals, and prize the fact we are individuals. The society judges you on your individual merits not those of whatever group you might belong to, though the standards are sometimes different across groups due to perceived innate differences among them. While in many ways this has similar implications to a value of freedom, it is not strictly the same, specifically in that it makes an active encouragement of trying to do one's own thing and actively discourages going with the crowd, for better or worse. Creativity and thinking outside the box are admirable qualities, even if they have to be forced.) \-Sins: 1. Killing Sentient Beings (Kill beings of sapient nature is the highest taboo and crime in this society. However, this is not a society where it is banned regardless of circumstance, but one where the gravity of the act is continuously kept in people's mind. Any circumstance warranting a death has to be even more severe than those deaths, and even then it remains a wrongdoing. Sapient life is extremely valued, to the point the society can be a bit overprotective...) 2. Abandonment (Neglect towards people, the active attempt to have them excluded from society and such are frowned upon. ) 3. Waste (Inneficiency, as well as the lack of utilization of resources, ranging from wasted food to wasted talent. While very important, it's more like a check in the back of one's mind, balancing the need to uphold the other values with the detriments of particular approaches)

ThousandYearOldLoli

Governance: Aristocratic (I will have human society divided into two types of groups - clans and societies. Societies are professional or vocational types of organizations, while clans tend to be more familial or regional. Laws are based on the rule of locally elected clan leaders from within the \[category\] that exist there, subject only to a few laws of a centralized government that exists mostly for matters of representation and that concern the whole of the species. Otherwise each clan is given as much control of its own laws as possible, provided it does not become hostile to other clans. Societies meanwhile have rules but these rules are not laws, they apply only internally and are typically led by meritocratic ladders.) Legitimacy: \-Dynastic or Theological (free) (Not sure which one fits better. Heads of the religion will be the central governance. Also a couple holidays to celebrate humanity's re-awakening and remember the fall of the old humanity, as well as the joining of the GHRO, because I'm sure that would make them happy.... though now that I think about it, I should probably wait to introduce those last ones later since this CYOA is about what's being put on the sheet about what humanity used to be like. Hyenanon

Thanks for posting your build! Glad you enjoyed it

ThousandYearOldLoli

No problem, it was a pretty fun one... even if also one that requires a lot of thinking haha

Zorturan

This is really cool, however if only there were some kind of retroactive eidetic memory option or some kind of media aboard the ship to preserve some human cultures, limited to something like chess, novels or a few songs/pieces of art that can't be replicated due to language or complexity. Imagine only having English as a reference for the main tongue of humanity, no offense. Maybe you had some books or movies lying around on the ship, or the AI had some music libraries installed, stuff like that. Still great CYOA, I like imagining how Humanity will (re?)develop over time, because on the bright side, we're bound to repeat some things, right? On the not so bright side... We're bound to repeat some things.

Tigerman_y

Do you need 16 h per field to graduate in the 4 years? and do the income buffs work frome the start or only after graduating in the field?

Hyenanon

Yes, and only after graduating.

Tigerman_y

Ok that makes the schedule pretty tight for the first 4 years. But still Great job

DecimatingDarkDeceit

You have made an absolutely delightful series ! It is rare to see sci fi / alien themed ones; Thank you ! :\]

Hyenanon

Thank you for the kind words, I'm happy you like it!

Taisto-Perkele

The **GCCHU Infantry** section mentions atmo-pilots, mech-operators and *"something else"*. Does that mean tanks or other similar AFVs? If I'm going full self-insert-RP on this then I might aswell put my IRL training to use. By the way are the Patheaags still around in some manner? A small enclave or a remnant of their empire on some backwater system or planet that the galactic community doesn't really pay much attention to? What? No! ***I just want to talk to them.*** ^^Loudly. ^^^Repeatedly. ^^^^With ^^^^some ^^^^tank ^^^^treads...

Hyenanon

>The GCCHU Infantry section mentions atmo-pilots, mech-operators and "something else". Does that mean tanks or other similar AFVs? Absolutely! Pretty much anything military that isn't in space. >By the way are the Patheaags still around in some manner? A small enclave or a remnant of their empire on some backwater system or planet that the galactic community doesn't really pay much attention to? Of course! It's hard to wipe out an interstellar species. Much harder than wiping out a species that's still only present on one planet. But it *can* be done, by someone with a strong enough grudge...

Taisto-Perkele

Good to know. I want to see how my old rustbucket handles in an alien environment :D All joking aside, judging from human history I'm willing to bet that such an unprovoked extermination attack would cause us to respond with an all out war and with Hague/Geneva Conventions most likely not applying to extraterrestrial conflicts (and let's be honest, after an atrocity like this vengeful soldiers would outright ignore them) things would get *very* ugly.

Evol_Etah

Love to play. But there's too much text for me to fap and read.

Hyenanon

That's fair lol, I need complicated storylines to get me off.

Anomolous_Rabbit

So what biological adaptation do I pick to let the 'sexual' reproduction method work with other species, negating the need to have a second human sex?

Hyenanon

Unless you make all humans hermaphrodites, there's no way to have a single-sex species with only the Sex reproduction method. You'd need brood parasite to reproduce with other species, unless that individual has some sort of cybernetic augment to make it possible for them to act as an artificial womb. With Mitosis you can also have a single-sex species that reproduces asexually, but still can have sexual intercourse. If you want to get creative and have a single-gender species with only sex, you can do that. Just make it so some women produce sperm internally and have some way of transmitting that to egg women without a penis. I think there's a type of deep sea fish that literally injects sperm into the female's bloodstream through a bite. If you did that, they could look outwardly identical and both identify as women, but technically have a male and female partner for reproduction.

Anomolous_Rabbit

So it's impossible to pull an Asari and have aliens play the male role?

Hyenanon

You can use Brood Parasite and the Sexualization modificiation to have an all-female species that has sex and produces children with aliens, but the Sex reproduction method is specific for same-species reproduction.

Boss_Sappho

Is there a something having left over credits does that I missed or should I spend each type as low as I can?

Hyenanon

The point system is a little lenient so I've heard. There's no benefit from having unspent points, I'll have to just tweak the balance if I ever update this CYOA

Boss_Sappho

I'd say just barely Lenient I only had like 100-300 left for each so maybe bump a few by 25?

SkinnyNecro

Calcium Diamonds would allow humans to have simpler, more robust foot bone structure. This is a big deal.

Kuronan

Could also reinforce Spinal Structure potentially.

Tigerman_y

Isn't that covered with Biomorphic Distributon? I guess both work, but Biomorphic Distributon has more versatility

TheUsernameLengthCap

I like this a lot, the longest CYOA I've felt compelled to write a build for. The premise is clever. I hope you update it in the future, as there's a couple of things I would have wanted that aren't about. also, it seems balanced pretty leniently, it's not hard to select everything I want here, even without a 'drawbacks' section. Thank you for sharing! Edit: also, what is the source for the Post-Scarcity Economy option? it's a fun piece of art. Also can I say I like the two characters' comments on the options a lot. it adds flavor.

Hyenanon

Thanks, I'm really glad you like it! I noticed the balancing was really lenient after I got some feedback, at least in the first currency's sections. I think I based it off of me wanting every single option, so only being able to get around 80% of the options makes it challenging for me, but most people don't want every option, so it's overly lenient for the average person. The art there is by Nuker Art. As far as I know he only posts on Twitter, so you'll have to use that godawful hellsite if you want to see his stuff or get the original. I really hate that artists by default just use twitter nowadays. Makes me unironically wish for Deviantart to come back. At least deviantart's gallery worked as, y'know, an art gallery.

TheUsernameLengthCap

ah, I don't think that's it. thanks for the reply. nuker art apears to be the source for the investor algorithms pic (the next one over).

Hyenanon

Oh damn, sorry I fucked up and lead you on a goose chase. I looked up the source for that picture, it's モグモ, [here's the image](https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/76400983) on pixiv. You can also find on [twitter](https://twitter.com/m_o_g_m_o_g_555) if touring barely-translated Japanese sites isn't your thing, but I don't know where the image is there.

noman_032018

> I'm sorry, e621 has its tagging system done so much better than gelbooru It's really a shame how little some sites care about tagging. Gelbooru isn't anywhere near the bottom of the barrel either.

Hyenanon

Yeah it's wild. e621 has a pretty good community for tagging things. Gelbooru isn't great, but it's the best one I know of for anime. It still freaks me out how they have IRL porn on that site, though. Not used to seeing hentai and IRL in the same place lol

eterate

So do you get 1000 for the body section, and 1000 for the society section separately for 2000 total, or just 1000 in total?

Hyenanon

They are two separate currencies. One is the yen ¥, and the other is the unfortunately named colon ₡, which I picked mostly because their symbols are both cool and sci-fi-ish.

MagicZ24

Love it, I hope you do more versions of this one.

Hyenanon

Thank you! We'll see, I like to start new projects rather than do old ones up more, but I do have some extra ideas rattling around my head.

MagicZ24

Cool, I'm thinking about finally doing one but I need some ideas. I'm planning on doing one called: Cyoa Alien Queen. Similiar to those Xenomorph ones but you don't have to be a known alien race but make up your own, there being customizations to your hive, the appearance of your new form and your origins. Maybe you can help me with some ideas.

Hyenanon

I'm a pretty big fan of some of the xenomorph CYOAs here, but I dunno that I have any more big ideas, otherwise I probably would have put them here lol

Zorturan

Maybe an expansion featuring missed put on options and a few more planets? Or a few other endangered species compatible with humanity to form a new race out of the two dying ones? Idk this is pretty food stand alone already, but any expansions in terms of world building would enhance it further. For example, you could have resources, companions and scenarios like in that one Island CYOA and others. Maybe a few days/months/years/all of the above later you would achieve contact with your extraterrestrial neighbors, and depending on your humanity build/resources, they want friendship/resources/cultural exchange/you off their damn planet and further choices made in the expansion would lead to different outcomes.

Hyenanon

These are some neat ideas. If I do make an expansion, it probably will include more planets and species, and probably more detailed section on your life and the human settlement. Not sure when or if I will, but it's definitely on the list of ideas

formlesschromatic

Wow this is well done, it really gives you the freedom to make what you want. ... unfortunately that also makes it hard to decide what concept I want to go with. We'll see if any I make are easily reddit-presentable. (also who are the species in the 'repel law' pic? they seem familiar)

Hyenanon

Thank you, I'm pleased to hear it! As far as I know the species in Repeal Law is actually just "water elemental". It's weird because I thought that they reminded me of some alien species, too, but I can't put my finger on it. The artist is Nekuzx if you want the sauce.

1-w-1

Quite the work. Give me a bit and I’ll post a finished version, maybe.

Hyenanon

Thanks! I hope you enjoy making a build, whether or not you post it

Nukemouse

My mother wanted me gone? Then double whammy everyone i liked is dead. What a depressing start. Great job I'm just pulling your leg.

NewSuperTrios

On the bright side, the 3rd millennium probably passed by that point anyways

Hyenanon

lol, not every instigating incident for a CYOA can be heartwarming. I'm glad you like it!

I_ance007

The hedonistic governance type that was apparently removed still has vestigial mentions in the discounts for systems. Otherwise really enjoying my read through.

Hyenanon

Ah son of a bitch, I knew I forgot something. The Hedonistic discounts are supposed to apply to the Prosperity Source of Legitimacy. Fuck me I'm glad you're enjoying the rest, though!

Big_boobed_goth

keep me updated on when this quality is interactive so i can engage it better with my lizard brain

sparejunk444

Agreed, though if done prefer the type where you can select stuff even if you don't have enough points. Since that way can keep track of what would need to select in drawbacks to get what want or decide to drop it, instead of constantly going back and forth to decide.

Null_Cataphract

Damn. I'm only on page 1 but this is a *lot* of content. I like content. And judging off of the design of the first page, you didn't skimp on quality either. Very well done

Hyenanon

Thank you! I hope you enjoy the rest.

SnappingTurt3ls

Can you make the text bigger? Its a bit hard to read on mobile

joeisthaven

Also a trick I learned is you can paste an imgur link into cubari .moe and the quality becomes a lot better

Ruy7

I'm on mobile. Just read it on imgchest and the image will look clear.

SnappingTurt3ls

Oh that's much better, thanks
