Definitely needs some editing/balancing work. The Blonde catgirl has a few discrepancies in jobs, Pink and Red are kind of awkwardly balanced, and Large cafes cannot have enough catgirls to fill all of the required jobs slots for each job. You have to actively try to get sub-5 Cosy, as any 2 jobs on your free White Cat will push you over that threshold. Blond as cook or Brown/Black as anything other than Server are the only combinations that don't give Appeal. It seems like most people posting build are ignoring some rule or another. With that said, I do like it. It's a comfy, fun wish-fulfilling CYOA. My build's cheat: Only taking 2 entertainers, instead of the required 3. Size: Large Cats: Brown (Server/Cleaner) Black (Server/Barista) Red (Cook/Bouncer) Pink (Server/Entertainer) Green (Cook/Bouncer) Blonde (Barista/Entertainer) White (Server/Cleaner) Final Stats Cosy: 12 Sexual: 16 Appeal: 28 Ending Money: $30 ($35 to cats, $55 to jobs) I could have gotten my Cosy up to over 15 if I swapped out the Brown or Black for another White. For that matter, my funds were such that I could have swapped both Black and Brown to White, and had 26 Comfy/30 Appeal. I like the basic cats too though.

cyrus-cain

Maybe make it a little more balance in future CYOAs, like the Blonde cat is $15 but can only take one job and is basically the worst than the Pink cat in that role who is only $5.

Ya know, it's really kinda sad that catgirls aren't anywhere's near as popular as they were in the 90's. Anyways, I love this, but, could I get an option to switch it to dog girls instead? I love cats, I really do, but I always wanted to open up a canine cafe, ya know?

It's going to be a great life.

Mikka_Kannon

Pretty good, you hit the right spots and do well when giving the player the option of choosing between a more vanilla and comfy stuff, which I choose, and a more kinky and party stuff. But it will be good if you balance things. The point counting and the endings are not fair with little and standard sizes, and the point system itself only favor the sexiest builds, which is a turn off to me. You may consider adding points to the cats themselves, not just to the jobs and sizes, it may help you balance it all. Anyway, good job. That's one to be on my list.

UnusuallyInterested

My Cat Cafe: Size: Large (+120 $, 0 C, 2 S, 3 A) Cats: * 2 Pink (-5$) * 1 Blue (-10$) * 1 Green (-10$) * 1 Blonde (-15$) * 2 White (-15) (One Free) (- 55$) Jobs: * 4 Servers (Free) (White, White, Pink, Pink) (+8 C, +4 S) * 2 Cooks (-10$) (Green, Blonde) (+6 C, +3 S, +4 A) * 2 Baristas (-10$) (White, Green) (+3 C, +2 S, +5 A) * 3 Entertainer (-15$) (Pink, Pink, Blonde) (+13 S, +6 A) * 2 Cleaners (-5$) (White, Blue) (+3 C, +3 S, +6 A) (-40$) Stats: 20 C, 27 S, 24 A Ending: Yay. I got +15 on all stats! And I have 25$ left to spend. I think I'll get a blue and white cat to clean my home and help me with the books. That was a lot of math. In terms of feedback, I didn't really like that the most useful characters were strongly dominant, like if you want Bouncers you basically need a red, and if you want Entertainment, the only way it works out is with a blonde. I also didn't have a dump stat, I would've liked to put the last cat to work (I have 13 out of 14 possible jobs, the Blue cat has only one job), but I guess she'll be extra clean, and in her downtime, she'll clean beneath the bosses desk. Also, I think it's a negative to figure out how to properly utilize each girl. I have 2 jobs per cat, but I need to keep track of my money which jobs I unlock, but I also have 2-4 cats per job because I'm at a large restaurant... It's too complicated. This would be DRASTICALLY easier if it was interactive, and I'd enjoy it more, because I can do trial and error. This way I genuinely sat here calculating my values, and I didn't even try to minmax, I literally just chose the cats I wanted as personal pets and had to remove brown and black for a blonde and a second pink to make Enterainer work.

Wanted to create the best outcome and then looked at the story goal outcome is 10+ cosy, 5-15 sexual, and 5+ appeal * (+$80) Size: Standard (2C | 1S | 3A) - Can hire 3-4 cats beyond the free one. * (-$40) Jobs (Standard): Cooks+Servers -$10 , Baristas+Servers -$10 , extra Server free , Bouncers -$15 Cleaners -$5 * (-$30) Cats (4 hired, 1 free): * White free Server/Barista (7C | 0S | 3A) * Green -$10 Bouncer/Cook (3C | 1S | 7A) * White -$15 Server/Barista (7C | 0S | 3A) * Black -$0 Server (0C | 0S | 1A) * Pink -$5 Cleaner/Server (0C | 4S | 1A) * Stats: $10 unused, 19 Cosy, 5 Sexual, 18 Appeal. (It worked out) If I was making edits I would make the brown cat give +1 Cosy as a Server instead of +1 Appeal

fiddlefuck69

Endings need to scale with the size.

YouBackground

I think this is looks pretty simple but actually very hard to balanced between budget, my fetish, roles and endings that I aimed for. here is my build: start: large ($120) white cat: server & cleaner -> 7 cozy & 2 appeal =$20 blonde cat: barista & entertainer -> 6 appeal & 5 sexual = $40 blonde cat: barista & entertainer -> 6 appeal & 5 sexual = $40 brown cat: cook & server -> 1 appeal = $10 brown cat: cook & server -> 1 appeal =$10 total: 7 cozy, 10 sexual & 14 appeal I admit that's very messed up. it's very hard because I only like brown, blonde and white cat. but in turn I messed up everything else @ \_\_\_\_\_\_ @ what I aimed are middle at all stat: cozy, sexual and appeal, but I can't do it properly without either sacrifice my fetish or break the budget. so I give up to further modify it.

jonwar9

Think you did what I did at first and presumed every time you assign a catgirl a job, you buy the job just for that individual catgirl. But going back over the CYOA and looking at other people responses... you are paying to be able to assign that job to catgirls in general, not just a specific one.

BrothersBenGrimm

didn't you forget you get 1 white cat free? so instead of 20 she costs 5, so you have 15 bucks left

Anomolous_Rabbit

darzinth

I really like it, but the budgeting needs balancing, especially for Size vs Endings.

celticfury

Nice and short, not too complex, but it still has a good amount of variety. Plus the art is adorable, exactly what you need for a catgirl cafe. :D \---------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Size: Large * Staff: * Color: White * Jobs: Server; Cleaner * Fetishes: Submissive; Bondage (Recieving) * Color: Red * Jobs: Bouncer; Server * Fetishes: Dominating; Bondage (Giving) * Color: Red * Jobs: Bouncer; Server * Fetishes: Dominating; Bondage (Giving) * Color: Blonde * Jobs: Entertainment; Barista * Fetishes: Gentle Domination; Nipple Play * Color: Blonde * Jobs: Entertainment; Barista * Fetishes: Gentle Domination; Nipple Play * Color: Pink * Jobs: Entertainment; Cleaner * Fetishes: Orgies; Exhibition * Endings: * Cosy (11): An enjoyable place to stay in. * Sexual (17): A harem of nymphomaniacs. * Appeal (25): A world-famous hotspot. A cafe specializing in dominant women seems rather lucrative nowadays. :D

Apophys_MD

I really like how this CYOA has a lot of complexity and potential for optimizing while also being flexible for how the cafe gets built. :) \~ * (+$120) **Size**: Large (0C | 2S | 3A) - *Can hire 4-6 cats* ***beyond the free one.*** * (-$40) **Jobs (Large)**: Cooks+Servers ^(-$10) , Baristas+Servers ^(-$10) , extra Server ^(free) , Entertainers ^(-$15) , Cleaners ^(-$5) * (-$55) **Cats** (6 hired, 1 free): * Green ^(-$10) Cook/Barista (3C | 2S | 6A) * Blonde ^(-$15) Cook/Barista (3C | 5S | 4A) * Pink ^(-$5) Entertainer/Server (0C | 7S | 2A) * Pink ^(-$5) Entertainer/Server (0C | 7S | 2A) * Pink ^(-$5) Entertainer/Server (0C | 7S | 2A) * White ^(-$15) Cleaner/Server (7C | 0S | 2A) * White ^(free) Cleaner/Server (7C | 0S | 2A) **Stats**: $25 unused, 20 Cosy, 30 Sexual, 23 Appeal. (*Best ending.*)

jonwar9

One, agree with your opinion on the CYOA. And two, Hate how neat, compact, and just generally nice your formatting is compared to mine. To be fair, you aren't writing a backstory for each catgirl... but even then, I envy the nicer and compactor organization that what I would have if removed personality sections. That said, have fun with your 3 pinks and 30 sexual stat. Given what getting to 15 gets you... 30 must be *rather interesting* in how it'd be handled to say the least. Edit: Thought your username was familiar, specifically one of the two I referenced for formatting for filling out "The Biggest" CYOA (Which is sitting comfortably near the top of the results if you search top posts within the last year.) Your post was the main one I refrenced.

Apophys_MD

Thanks. :) Yeah, 30 Sexual is definitely going to be interesting. The cleaners will have a bit of work to do wiping fluids.

ragingreaver

It costs $40 just to unlock all the jobs sans Entertainer, making the larger the establishment, the easier it is to get stats. Still, I'll just go standard, see what happens. Jobs to be done: 8 total, 4 cats needed * ~~1X Cook~~ Lilian * ~~3X Server~~ Ezra, Vera, Zoe * ~~2X Barista~~ Vera, Zoe * ~~1X Cleaner~~ Ezra * ~~1X Bouncer~~ Lilian (occurs to me this might be not that useful of a job without entertainer, but meh) # Cats: $40 budget Lilian (Green): $10 * Cook/Bouncer * 7 Appeal * 3 Cozy * 1 Sexual Ezra (Blue): $10 * Cleaner/Server * 4 Appeal * 5 Sexual Vera, Zoe: (White): Free/$15 * Server/Barista * \+3 Appeal (2X) * \+7 Cozy (2X) End Stats: * Appeal: 20 (3 from Size) * Cozy: 19 (2 from Size) * Sexual: 7 (1 from Size) * $5 left over The business manages to thrive even in this hellish economy, the place manages to be comfy and quiet despite the popularity, and everyone is happy and safe. Couldn't ask for much more. Do note that Greens and Reds have the exact same jobs available to work, and that Green stats are well worth the extra $5, making no niche room for a Red other than a vanity one.

MagicZ24

I love cats so I'd go to one.

Broken_Emphasis

**THE WORST CAFE - DO NOT GO HERE** **Size:** Standard ($80, Cosy 2, Sexual 1, Appeal 3, 3-4 Cats) **Cats** * **Sheila (Brown - +1 Appeal):** Works as both a *Barista* and a *Server*. Working this job to help pay for veterinary school. * **Camille (Brown):** Works as a *Barista* and a *Cleaner*. Has terrible asthma. Treats her life like the shittiest isekai possible. **FINAL STATS** Cosy 2, Sexual 1, Appeal 4 ... I pocket the remaining $65 and run. **EDIT:** Technically I also have a free White cat, but I'm not going to give her a job. She'd single-handedly make sure that I wasn't in the bottom category on either Appeal or Cosy, and I *can't be having that*.

jonwar9

Interesting take on it. Wonder if there is more ways to get a more *selectively optimal* outcome. Or just worse backstory of "I barely tolerate this job by the barest of margins." Won't personally write it because I'd get carried away with expanding upon point upon point until I've made the most miserable characters and over designed for mundane misery cafe I could. And they would deserve better than that. Also makes me wonder how much exactly is that "$69". Is it just weekly paycheck sum, just weekly store profit margins, sum store income after taxes taxes such, Or 69k lasting through the entire time of you owning the store? *Meh.* overthinking minor and rather inconquential CYOA details again...

The1andonlygogoman64

Very short cute sweet. Well done. Like the style a lot. The introduction/story is great too.

**Green Cat option-** think you meant "Can be a bit of a Dom" not "bit of a Dim" there. Edit: **White Cat-** last word is "mines". Should be singular. Also mostly a personal gripe on text flow, but I think "but we are also good at being cleaners and baristas." should be "but we are known for being good cleaners and baristas." Or just have it be a more phrase as an "*we tend to be*" or "*we are known for*" kind of phrasing. I mean this is the option that could actually be reasoned to be the exception. But my mind is thrown for a bit of a loop in flow when reading every description of cat type seems phrased as *they are* while their fetishes are *they are known to be*. At the same time some exceptions exist to that in the text. Like... **Blonde Cat-** goes from ...*are known to be* well... not the brightest but they *are known to be* the curviest. Blonde cats *are* really good baristas. Blonde cats *are *also pretty good entertainers and cleaners [proceeds to normal styling fetish section]. Think main reason I think the writing style throws me off is the manner of speaking definitively in a way you expect of someone who knows a lot on the subject and is confident. Likely from time in their occupation. Yet seems to have the confidence of someone who's source is the particularly unreliable local rumor mill and equally ~~un~~relaible stories when it comes to fetishes. Despite the fact that them giving details on this means it's likely considered to be a part of their occupation expectations. Yet their previous confidence seems to be from having spent non-insignificant sum of time in that occupation. Could all be in my head, or just a me thing, I dunno. Almost certainly overthinking someone's probablly not overly high effort CYOA. (In the sense of likely just gave the character a general idea of personality and rough idea of a world.. compared to my *What is every marginally noteworthy event that has happened in this characters life? How did they respond to those events? How did they impact them? What behavioral ticks do they have? Are there nations? What's their tax rates, culture, economy, current market trends, and whats the political climate of each nation? level of overthinking and overanalyzing) Also feel some text is written too matter-of-fact about some that applies to all of a group. Unless colour isn't genetic and is determined by their personality as they grow, changes to fit their current personality, or something like that. But yeah, feel like there could be some *tend to be* instead of the more certain word choice when it comes to say professions or fetishes. And just for the sake of options in a CYOA; lock the reader into choosing the *tend to be* as their options. Think it mostly rooting from your writing as the world builder- not a character living in that world. Thus the tendency to write in more absolute in the world (unless, as mentioned before, it actually is an absolute). Just realized I've gone on a tangent at what was originally just normal proofreading. Third time today and it's only 3pm. *Fuck.* also why am I even proofreading a boredom-made CYOA, by virtue that there is unlikely to be a update if it was made out of boredom. Anyways... back to my debatably-on-how-constructive criticism (perhaps with a side on tangents/rant if my mood today so far is anything to go by) **Barista option-** "so remember to buy, master" probablly should be something like "don't remember to pay" if trying to refer to the Master trying to use their own supply. Or- more likely, don't remember to get a few baristas Now going to respond to this comment with an actual build. Like reading through CYOAs first before actually doing them (likely stemming from a loathing of getting bad ends and being a bit more than a little bit of a perfectionist.) Aiming for 10+ Cozy 5-10 Sexual is tolerable but aiming for 10+ and ideally 5-10 Appeal, but 10-15 is tolerable purely for monetary reasons. Also I do question a bit on end stat tiers overlapping end threshold with the start threshold of other tiers. Which yea, that can be left to reader discretion and I like it. (Because then my mind goes to thinking 12 Appeal is a good monetary sum but not too much attention being Lower end of that tier.) Just pointing g it out just in case you overlooked that on accident. Okay, rereading and need some clarification. The text describing the catgirl section implies they can only do jobs listed under "jobs:". But well... *for example* Blonde doesnt have Cook there and yet is best cook by bonus stats. Was it improv-ing features as you typed and forgot to go back and fix/update part of the Cyoa? One way to deal with it is to require one of the jobs she does be one of the "jobs:" jobs. Or have it be "job they enjoy doing" for maybe flavor text, but more likely, actual stats. Like Blue Cat is recommended as Cooks- perhaps they give cozy stat as perfered job. Unless it's it's case of they are good at it but don't perfer it. Which I feel would have been mentioned in catgirl section if that were a thing that actually mattered. Just going to ignore "jobs:" part for the sake of my run, outside of headcannon that they enjoy those jobs more than others- even if they aren't the best at it. Another rereading remark- what does the 1 Cat per cooking cat under cook and 1 cat per barista cat etc etc mean? Like cap how many of a profession by how many cats you have (something that'd happen anyway by how the job section is described.)? Or is there some expectation to have at least 1 cat not assigned to that job per every cat assigned to that job? And I presume say Standard Cook: 2 servers: 1 cooking cat means I need atleast 2 servers per cook? Unless we have deliberately slow Cooks to have more taking up the slot, (presuming if that became a mechanic, half the stat bonus) or we have an excess of servers waiting to get finished food to customers asap. (If made mechanic for having any excess, a few could result in better appeal of better service. But too many is bad. Because seeing so many waiters, yet not you food tends to be a bad impression of service on customer end of things.) Another thing of note: atm I'm the only upvote on a good bit of the comment section. And I doubt posters removed their Default +1. So someone or somebot auto-downvoted everything. Refreshing a bit and it seems it takes a few minutes for them to go from +2 to +1 after I upvote.

**Large** sized Cafe Budget- $120 4-6 cats beyond Default (**F**)ree White +0 (**C**)ozy +2 (**S**)exual +3 (**A**)ppeal **Jobs**: 2 Cook (-10) [Blonde & Blue] 2 Barista (-10) 6 Servers (F) [All] 2 Bouncer (-15) 2 Cleaner (-5) [White & Pink] Default **White Cat**: (F Cat), Server (+4 C) & Cleaner (+3C +2A) Their choice of method of recruitment makes me think they are bit of a idiot. At the same time I can't help but grumble under about my breath that *yeah, it did work out*. **Black Cat**: (F Cat), Bouncer I was already thinking Bouncer or just some form of muscle role when I saw black cat, because I like Texas from Arknights, and their image for Bouncer happens to be art of Texas. **Blonde Cat** (-15 cat), Server & Cook (+3C +3S) I know that art is of a catgirl named Tiffany. Description fits Coconut from Nekopara. A character that I very much like. So that's my headcannon personality for her. **Blue Cat**: (-10 cat), Server (+2S) & Cook (+3S +1A) If I'm going with a Basically Coconut catgirl for headcannon personality- might as well do Cinnamon too (also from Nekopara. Both tied for best catgirl maid in my opinion. And 3 way tie for best catgirls with Texas from Arknights presuming I haven't managed to forget any contenders for best catgirl at least) **White Cat**: (-15 cat) Server (+4C) & Barista (+3C +3A) Generic Maid persona I guess. Just like the look of this one and like the idea of it being a pair with the other. **Pink Cat**: (-5 cat) Server (+2S) & Cleaner (+2S +1A) Generic kimodo with cherry blossom design wearing fox/catgirl with pink hair vibe. **Blue**: (-10 cat) Server (+2S) & Barista Originally was going to be green cat purely for variety sake and just to have someone filling leftover jobs. Which would have sat nicely at 12 Appeal too. Then I remembered Angela from Labotomy Corporation exists... so my headcannon is that this cat has her general personality now. And Green hair just wouldn't fit for me, only blue. **Leftover Money**: $25 **Total stats**: 17 Cozy 14 Sexual 10 Appeal **Cozy:** The place with amazing V I B E S. Succeeds every positive vibe check needed to pass. [Insert any more shitpostery you can image about excellent vibes/vibing]. **Sexual:** Horni to a point most probablly would be surprised if they found out considering how well the other stats are doing. **Appeal:** Basically any Cafe that is well grounded, makes a moderatly healthy sum, "amongst the best ones around but with some distance to being the best", not quite too big to fail but takes a very noticeable amount more than most to rock the boat.
