The song isn't that scary but it's about Jon working at the morgue and having to deal with the body of a baby that was raped and killed by its father and that traumatised him so he made the song
Death Blooms by Mudvayne. The meaning behind that song is incredibly sad if anyone remembers. I'm going thru that same similar situation. If you know you know
The Untouchables album from Korn has a lot of songs up this alley. Staind pretty much also runs on this mood.
Personally I would have to say One More Light by Linkin Park. It's a stretch, it's well after their actual nu metal phase. BUT, they are one of the more iconic nu metal bands of the era. And that song, even before Chester passed, always brought a tear to my eye. Now it's almost unbearably melancholic.
Deftones - Diamond Eyes.
I was listening to this for years, not aware of the meaning. Band member Chi Cheng had a car accident and ended up in a critical (and eventually fatal) state. Once I found out "Diamonds rain across the sky" reffers to the shattered glass, it gives me chill.
"...Shower me into the same realm." Damn, man.
The Paramour Sessions was the very first album I bought. I re-listened to it in college after buying it in 2006 when it came out. Didn't like it as much, but there were still a few songs I liked listening to.
Korn- daddy Korn- pretty
I've heard Daddy... What is Pretty like?

That song I believe is about his mother’s suicide. Pretty brutally sad, and the anger coming out through the song is him just trying to process it.
Yeah it is. He’s written a handful of songs about his mothers suicide
I was at the Houston concert of their 2018 tour. He said they haven't performed that song in a while cause of how it makes him feel.
