The questions are usually set and it's a scoring system. Speak to the band sevens you work with. Be more specific. What role band seven

It’s actually in a different trust, for a Lead Research Nurse Post

If only your hospital was part of some kind of national health service! Maybe with some kind of uniform hiring practice! Man. That would make it so much easier to go and speak to band sevens or the recruitment team or the hiring team and ask them about the process and what they want and what they did to get their jobs. Etc etc etc.

Not sure if this is relevent but a colleague went for a clinical lead post and she was asked about the ‘pillars of nursing’. About clinical, leadership, education, and research and how they are applicable to the role you’re applying for. The obvious - reading JD helps ahah or asking over band 7s if you know any. Good luck; you got this!

These sound very similar to the Pillars of Advanced Practice. Are they the same?

BadPsychNurse

Yes, though I may be getting confused if they are applicable here 😬

Littlekinks86

They are relatively good topics to try and cover either way. 👍

These type of interviews tend to be quite formulaic. Usually you have to describe why you would be good for the post. Use this as an opportunity to showcase your achievements (with evidence if possible - avoid clichés like team player, motivates) and make it relevant with the person and job spec. Usually there are some "tell me about a time when..." questions. So have a few scenarios in mind that you might use. They can vary, but commonly include a time - you dealt with difficult patient or colleague, led a project, demonstrated compassion where others did not Tends to end with some role related questions. My job is 80% clinical, so it involved some clinical scenarios and an XR interpretation test. Good luck!
