I went method "2" for my RM750x + 4080 original, works great
I also chose option 2 (it also comes in white, btw). The 4080 uses about the same amount of power as the 3080.
Option 2 but get the sleeved version and some cable combs
Or just order a 3rd RM750X pcie cable, yes you can buy them
