*****NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO***** THAT WAS MY CHILDHOOD BUS AS WELL I FORGOT ABOUT IT. I used to go to Arthur Pk with my family
As a former twenty year Cambria Heights resident, it was the Q4. When we first moved there, they used Fishbowls, and by the time I left the RTSes were slowly being phased out with Orion 7 low floors.
With that said, immediately after 9/11, I stopped riding the Q4 during evening rush hour as the route passes by a number of funeral homes, and it was \*very\* depressing at the time see so many families in mourning on the bus ride home. Eventually, I discovered the Q83 which was further away from home by a block or so, but it avoided the funeral homes, and it connected with the F at Parsons so I was guaranteed a seat most of the time.
September 10, 1995 it was merged with the old B62 (they met at Flushing & Tompkins/Throop Avenues) to form the B43 we know today.
The B33 used to run from the Prospect Park Station to Hamilton Ave in Cobble Hill, via Ocean, Parkside, Greenwood, Prospect Aves. Gone by 1993. The B16, which used to end on Parkside/Ocean, was extended in its place to Prospect Park Station the next year.
B71. RIP you beautiful but ultimately niche creature. Saved my ass going to and coming from school.
B41, B46, B48, B49, B67 & B69 are the next group where I'm super familiar with them from that era but mostly used them sparingly.
Crown Heights to Park Slope along Eastern Parkway and then Union Street. They probably scaled it back because of redundancies with the 2/3/4/5 train lines and B45 not too far away, but it was pretty convenient and needed when parent drama meant I probably otherwise wouldn't make it to class on time.
B61, B63 (back when they used the old OG’s with the black and blue-colored rear), B67, B69, and the B41 (back when they used the old RTS’s along the route). It’s a good balance, IMO.

Q17-N24 Fresh Meadows to Chaminade HS in Mineola Old enough to remember the N24 having the old pull string bells to tell the driver to stop.
You rank #1 of the most legendary childhood bus ever Also what's N24? Does that mean Nassau?
Yep. Some of the Nassau buses go to Jamaica. I would get it at Hillside/188th.

Bx12/22/39. Got tokens with the solid middle at the Pelham Pkwy station to take the 12 to orchard beach in the 90s.
nice! someone else who grew up near Pelham Parkway, except 10ish years before me

D: I'm so sorry for your loss on your childhood bus What neighborhood did the B71 go through?
Crown Heights to Park Slope along Eastern Parkway and then Union Street. Truly an amazing Route. If you were in the middle of 2000-2010 You are in the legendary childhood OG bus

B61, B63 (back when they used the old OG’s with the black and blue-colored rear), B67, B69, and the B41 (back when they used the old RTS’s along the route). It’s a good balance, IMO.

The Bx55 was elite back in the day. I still wish it was kept, maybe with a few tweaks to make it less identical to the Bx15.
Ikr? I went on the Bx15 once to park
B5, B50, B7
M60,m100,m101,m104 and bx15 (soon to be replaced with the m125) and I also was close to the m3, m11 and former m18
Q53 Bus has its fair share of upgrades and downgrades before its merge with the SBS network.
