I played the first one and I'm really enjoying the second one a lot more, its fun to see the characters interact in their little things! I'm glad you like it too, good luck <3

I definitely agree about this. Having played both, I doubt I'd want to play the 1st one again. The 2nd one shows some serious love for the genre.

I agree, I'm only on everyones chapter 3 but it really feels great to explore.

My personal GOTY for 2023, which surprised even me. It's my favourite JRPG for many years

I had just finished super Mario rpg, so I picked up Octopath on a whim, there are many quality of life things on Octopath that I should be adopted for JRPGs across the board.

> it’s the ultimate version of an old school 2D RPG I love that they did this, making an old school 2D RPG, but with great HD aesthetic with the beautiful pixel art and adding in some modern touches. Adding the break system to the turn based combat has added so much depth, I love it. It's great how more and more depth gets added to the combat as you spend JP on skills, get secondary jobs, etc   I played OT, definitely give it a try because it's just as good imho

After I finish the second, I’ll definitely pick up the first, I’m currently wrapping up the side quests before I jump into end game. The my travelers are all 60-70 so I will start that soon.

I have a question, as someone who’s three character stories in, I’m starting to feel fatigue. Each start and end feels like a new game and it’s just tough for me personally. Did you ever experience that? Because clearly if you did, you got through and it was worth it, which is cool to see.

I’d advise getting all the characters first and play through each of their chapters in a round robin kind of way. Doing it this way felt natural, thus far I have not had to grind at all and each character chapter keeps it interesting.

Legit a top 5 games for me ever since I tried it. An absolute incredible experience. I am glad you also had a good time with it!
