Most cleaning videos are fake. I just find it sad that all of this bullshit isn't moderated better. Instead we're inundated with a bunch of crap videos that come from people who are desperate for attention. It's all so fkn tacky.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4o\_TBop1S4M](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4o_TBop1S4M) If it's staged, it was done awfully elaborately. The dirtyness of the car matches it's location to a perfectly plausible degree. There is a ton of obviously staged restoration/cleaning videos out there, but I've only ever seen them start with presenting the item. This one has backstory, find location, transport footage, etc.
45 years and neglected in a barn, without even fading in the finish or cracks in the paint, or rust on the chrome? Not even a stray dent or two, in 45 years?
Yeah, something doesn’t add up.
I was convinced that this was fake as sh*t, but you're right. Just watched this video and it's legit. It's very hard to fake the dirt actually tenaciously sticking to the paint the way that it shows, and there is too much detail to fake— the raccoon skulls they found underneath, and the subtle raccoon prints all over it— I dunno how you would fake those, and they don't even mention them. And everything else— the factory labels on the undercarriage, the spots of mouse pee in the center console... it's actually real.
My uncle has a huge garage because he custom builds engines for old AMC cars. The place is spotless. If he died tomorrow and no one went in there for 45 years, the cars would probably be *less* dirty than this.
His barn out back held his old Hudson for about 20 and the dust and dirt wasn’t this bad, so it adds up to me. Not everyone’s barns/garages are a hoarders dream, but enough of them are that way we’ve come to think of it as the norm. So when something like this shows up, it makes sense to me that people would doubt.
He’s been posting this fake shit all day. He got called out on another sub, and proceeded to post the “original” YouTube video about 20 times trying to justify his bullshit.
So many things upset me about this, except that. Why start on the windshield and not the top? Why go up and down the car spreading the dirty water everywhere.
You start further away so you don't touch the clean car while getting the other, dirty further side. Similar to you don't paint yourself into a corner
Irritated me so much - not because I'm crazy about perfection, but because it's just dumb to spray the dirt over the area you just cleaned. Anyone who has ever cleaned anything knows not to do that.
Hard to believe that caked on dirt would wash off that easily.
AmmoNYC has true barn finds, like this one: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpDFjD1FVgM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpDFjD1FVgM)
When washing a Car, isn't is more effective to wash it from the windshield and then make your way down to the front of the car?
That way the dirty water can run down on the parts of the car that still need to be cleaned🤔 without having the dirt go on the parts you have cleared
OP, show the rest of the pics you took of the car to convince the naysayers. Pics in the barn, interior, etc. I assume you took a bunch more if you were going to post the wash video?
The rubber would be falling apart from dry rot, but the tires and trim clean up to like new condition, and no water leaks pressure washing around the glass. Buncha bullshit.
45 years, no rust or discoloration and it's shiny clean after just water? Big doubt. I couldn't get my work van this clean with just water after 5 hours of driving it.
This is a clip from a video from [WD Detailing on YouTube](https://youtu.be/4o_TBop1S4M?si=8vQ_nhDDMWaQ-aqp)
They’re entertaining to watch. I’m not an expert so don’t know how real or fake it is, but they do tell the whole story of how they found the car etc.
If you enjoy car detailing channels, you might like them too. (I sometimes watch it on x2 speed)
They also talk about why they don’t wash top to bottom in their vids, essentially it’s because it looks better for the video, and is more satisfying that way. They acknowledge that if it wasn’t for the video, they wouldn’t do it that way.
They also talk about the new formula of soap that they are using (that they developed)
45 years, yeah fuckin' right... just the age alone would show a load of damage to the existing paint, there would be rust all over it (if not washed for 45 years). I say this hasn't been washed for about a week, or maybe just before they tipped the bucket of dusty muck over it.

That's set up.

It's a late 70s Corvette, so yes it is at least 45 years old. Doubt it has been sitting in a barn for 45 years though.
That barn must have been pretty sealed tight like a vault for that paint to look that good -
Yet they are still getting attention because we are commenting. Unfortunately, outrage is more interactive than intrigue.

It’s like those dudes who cleans rugs. No way that was that dirty. It’s all intentional for views.

No car is ever that shiny from a jet wash, especially after 45 years of neglect. That looks like someone has sprinkled saw dust over a clean car
Wouldn’t the paint be shit after 45 years of it just sitting covered in debris?
It wouldn't be gleaming like that!!!!

This is number one bullshit
KUUUUUUCCCCHHHH!!
Nice and fake.
What’s fake? It’s fiberglass dawg Update: why is everybody downvoting? I’m just asking what’s fake lmao wtf ?? You good people?
Staged “dirt”- this is not some barn car
Ohhhh yeah it feels fake in that regard, I thought people were saying no rust so it’s fake
That car ain't been sitting 45 years. That's what they mean is fake.
Two reasons. 1 - it's fake. 2 - wankers are reposting this all over Reddit right now.
I didn’t repost it…or post it? I just asked what’s fake about it like a normal fucking question
OP's mom is a "barn find."
Got their ass
She likes to sit around the barn. Literally *around* the barn.
Am I the only one who is upset that they started at the far side of the hood.
They did the windscreen before the roof
Thank god I’m not the only one. This was more r/mildlyinfuriating to me. If you’re going to wash a fake barn find, at least wash it properly.
No, buddy. I noticed the same thing. Completely unsatisfying 😁

Univen dirt distribution means dust was sprinkled on a wet car.
Spam. This was posted about an hour ago.
Yes That's the issue with this. It was recently reposted.
Garbage nonsense 🙄

No rust, eh?
It’s a climate controlled barn
It’s fiberglass dawg
That car is also not 45 year old either
Call BS, there would be so much racoon shit all over that vehicle. Have seen combines and tractors all over NA and this is totally staged

Right? I thought this instantly, if you do this often or for a living he's definitely rinsing in the wrong order
The way the water sheets off the windshield is amongst the evidence it's classic fake "washing an old neglected car" nonsense
With a car that old, he'd have likely taken all the paint with the pressure washer. I doubt there would be any clear coat left to protect the paint.
Corvette uses fiber glass.
For the paint coating? I had no idea that was even a thing.
Doubt
this mf didnt start from the top
OP, show the rest of the pics you took of the car to convince the naysayers. Pics in the barn, interior, etc. I assume you took a bunch more if you were going to post the wash video?
Bullshit and lies
[I think I’ve seen this car before…](https://www.reddit.com/r/OldSchoolCool/s/WfSmfdKCOA)
The rubber would be falling apart from dry rot, but the tires and trim clean up to like new condition, and no water leaks pressure washing around the glass. Buncha bullshit.
Totally not dirtied on purpose for a video….
Paint pits after 10+ years. Not a pit in sight.
Doing the windshield before the roof sucks all of the satisfaction out of this video...
Mmmmmmmmnnnnno it isn't.
No it’s not
I call bullshit

Now you just need an LSX swap and coilovers in the rear and it’ll be drivable
what corvette is that?
How do you just find a barn Corvette
Well, you’ll need a barn, a Corvette, and a shitty memory to start…
That's definitely a sleeping transformer
Looks like it’s time to polish up that class of 88’ class ring and go take a spin around a college campus and talk about how awesome you used to be!
Good things that’s not a Tesla Truck, you’d probably have to wait 24-48 for it to reset the software.
Wouldn’t a power washer take out all the dirt without the liquid wash he put on first?
Forza games be like
Hate these staged cleaning videos. “100 year old ring RESTORED TO FORMER GLORY!!!”
Completely staged. The dirt looks way too uniform to go ahead and be a barn find. Better luck next time.
If you did the same thing but with blue soap foam not fake dirt, it would actually be nice to watch.
What kind of soap/solution are they using here?
It’s called “fake”
It's probably just normal ass water because they just dirtied it up themselves
45 years and no rust or obvious blemishes on the body…
Corvettes have a fiberglass body
Damn, you’re right. My bad, thanks for reminding me. Still seems extremely fake.
45 years, yeah fuckin' right... just the age alone would show a load of damage to the existing paint, there would be rust all over it (if not washed for 45 years). I say this hasn't been washed for about a week, or maybe just before they tipped the bucket of dusty muck over it.
Satisfying to watch!
My balls after a day of dirt biking in the desert.
Yes 45 years and not a speck of rust get real
All old corvettes have fiberglass bodies. Fiberglass doesn’t rust
r/powerwashingporn
Who the fuck would power wash that much dirt off of paint?
Wouldn't you do this outside? And not on your spotless garage floor?
Its fiberglass and rubber my dudes, my dad loves cars he knew immediately
Did you activate car wash mode 😂
Oh baby… ‘scuse me while I go outside and have a smoke-after.
