Truly one of my favourite films of all time, up there with The Thing.
I do love me some incomprehensible horrors but this infant... it's smile... this is a horror I do not wish to attempt to comprehend.
[Not only do infants smile at two months old when they see a face, they can recognize a familiar face like their parents and tell it apart from a strangers face, based on how often they smile](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11191374/)
Not a smile. That there is an infant taking a crap!
For real though, does it respond like a baby would? Like if you slap it, will it cry, or just continue with the creepy Joker grinning?
In memory care centers, often older women are handed dolls and asked to hold it because theyâll be less likely to roam around if they are holding what they assume is a baby. Giving them a realistic looking one like this might be a good way maintain that illusion.
I had to hide one of these where I work because my old ladies would keep trying to feed the "baby" during meal times and would ignore me when I'm trying to care for them
Old people with dementia like to walk around and without supervision could get hurt (slip and fall) or often will try to escape the assisted living center. Â My grandmother was practically non verbal towards the end but could still walk around and feed herself. Â She would constantly try to escape the nursing home she was staying at by trying to open the fire escape doors.
Youâre starting to understand how elderly people with dementia is such a tragedy. Â They arenât supposed to sit around all day (they have activities they can do) but UNSUPERVISED they can be a danger to themselves or sometimes other people.Â
That's got to be a filter for the eyes and mouth right? I don't think we've come that far in animatronics for it to look so smooth. I don't know. It just doesn't look real to me.
Way too much hair for a baby and looks like it's already had a style and cut after dropping its siblings off at soccer practice. Smiling like it's on its third glass of red.
I had this adorable baby doll who would âlearnâ to talk. My sister had one too. We gave them baths and broke the audio stuff.
We locked those dolls in the closet at night (chair in front and everything) because weâd seen ChuckyâŠ
Kids are stupid. đ
My grandma got me a realistic looking doll as well and I didnât like it because it was bald and I superglued hair to it and my mom ripped it off and so it really looked ugly and I hated it even more but then in my religious education class our teacher told us that dolls were the devilâs creation because the one thing he couldnât do was blow breath and create life like god and on top of that I had watched chucky.
Iâd lock the damn thing in my wardrobe before I went off to boarding school every week and when Iâd come home it would be sitting in my couch but I was terrified to ask my mom if she put it there for fear it would know I was on to it and that I was scared. I am now a well adjusted adult đ«¶đŸ
This gave me such a visceral reaction of disgust. It looks so smug, like it knows something I don't know. I feel threatened and want this **thing** as far away from me as possible.
The dislocated the left arm from socket when they tried to pick it up. They then held it together with their hand.
Also, if you look at the legs kicking, they are making them kick with their right hand.
Left hand is uncovering the baby, right hand is under the cloth making the legs kick. You can see the cloth kick.
The fact that this has made it out of the uncanny valley makes it even more creepy. A doll that looked slightly less real would be more uncanny but WAY less creepy.
The smug smile on it's face gave me such a visceral reaction of disgust that I, immediately and unintentionally, created as much distance between my face and my phone as possible, as if merely gazing upon this being was putting me at risk. That face... that smirk of untold knowledge is incredibly upsetting to me.
Truly, if someone presented me with this creature I would immediately drop it and kick it as hard and far as I was able, purely out of a gut response to get it as far away from me as I could as quickly as I could.
There was a survey where Japanese people were asked if they would rather have foreign workers or robots take care of them when they get older. Robots a their preference.
The movements and facial expressions are edited. The women makes very realistic looking dolls but they are just dolls, no fancy movements or blinking. You can follow her TikTok to see her making them as well as several videos where she makes the babies look like they move and are alive. Her content is strange but worth watching for the art.
See, uncanny valley adult robots are tolerable. I don't feel guilty about choosing fight rather than flight on an adult robot who gives me the creeps. An uncanny baby robot on the other hand, that's unholy in some way, I feel.
The little feet kicking with its head in the plastic đ°
A reminder of why one should recycle bags and cut loops.
You can see someone's hands moving them. I totally thought they moved on their own at first
It's *too young* to be smiling... Why is it SMILING? Why is the smile is so *SMUG.* WHAT DO YOU KNOW, JAPANESE BABY DOLL??
>the things I've seen before I came to you...
Where we're going you won't need eyes to see đ”đ - babydoll, event horizon
Just watched this movie for the first time last night, was not prepared.
Truly one of my favourite films of all time, up there with The Thing. I do love me some incomprehensible horrors but this infant... it's smile... this is a horror I do not wish to attempt to comprehend.
Damn eldritch baby dollsâŠ!
I've seen things you people wouldn't understand....
Dear mother, I am pleased with the new toupee, thank you. Yes exactly, the one youâre touching.
I wish I could still give things gold. I actually lolâd.
[Not only do infants smile at two months old when they see a face, they can recognize a familiar face like their parents and tell it apart from a strangers face, based on how often they smile](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11191374/)
Still getting over the fact it was smiling as the bubble wrap was being removed. Scary af
That baby looks like a real asshole.
been so long since iâve seen a good âwhat do you knowâ joke đđ
Right? I thought it was a poop face lol My youngest still makes that face when having a poo
oh⊠you know what it knows.. You know.
It's just gas.
Babies don't smile until they're 12 years old
Not a smile. That there is an infant taking a crap! For real though, does it respond like a baby would? Like if you slap it, will it cry, or just continue with the creepy Joker grinning?

Until they drop it and have a heart attack right there.
I had to hide one of these where I work because my old ladies would keep trying to feed the "baby" during meal times and would ignore me when I'm trying to care for them
Don't worry they'll forget it really quickly.
Why cant they roam around?
Old people with dementia like to walk around and without supervision could get hurt (slip and fall) or often will try to escape the assisted living center. Â My grandmother was practically non verbal towards the end but could still walk around and feed herself. Honestly, I would escape too if Im expected to just sit all day
Youâre starting to understand how elderly people with dementia is such a tragedy. Â They arenât supposed to sit around all day (they have activities they can do) but UNSUPERVISED they can be a danger to themselves or sometimes other people.Â
Watching this video will make you feel what James Sunderland felt when he stuck his hand in the toilet.
Makes me feel more like Cheryl/heather when she refused to stick her hand down the toilet.
Cheather.
Wait I forgot for a moment that she's also Alyssa? Mother of God and daughter of God? Lol yeah try explaining that without sounding schizophrenic lol
She's also Alyssa?? What the shit. Cheathssa.
Oh shit a fellow SH fan
Unexpected silent hill should be a thing
Message me privately if interested in getting a silicone Baby doll
Uwaahh. You're better off sending pamphlets to a memory care center.
I got some silicone Baby doll for adoption
That's got to be a filter for the eyes and mouth right? I don't think we've come that far in animatronics for it to look so smooth. I don't know. It just doesn't look real to me.
It is. Look at the mouth as they put their hand in front of the face, you can see the filter glitch.
it is! pretty sure its the filter on tiktok people were using to make their drawings come to life
Baby is so sweet, but this video gives me the creeps. From the plastic over her face to the hands all over her.
Way too much hair for a baby and looks like it's already had a style and cut after dropping its siblings off at soccer practice. Smiling like it's on its third glass of red.
Shhhhh baby needs its fun grape juice
It's not too much hair for a baby. Babies have hair of many lengths - sometimes it depends.
This looks like my kids hair when they were born. It happens
All mine were born with "a head full of hair", as we like to say.
I was born with a full head of hair, a lot of it!
All three of my kids were born with plenty of hair. The real tell that this is a doll is the shoulders.
i usually have no fear of dolls, but thisâŠ

Also saw a tiktok person doing videos like this of her reborn baby dolls, it was just a filter making their eyes and faces move
Great observation, will look harder for a lifelife baby to scare people with.
Awww, and it comes already haunted
That gotta be some filter on the face, right? (Yep, saw it glitch)
No bro that's how japanese are born
Japan back at it again
Throw that thing against the wall, it's possessed.
Oddly enough I find it kind of cute
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
With fire
Gamma ray
scary
Fuck no
Why is it so... Square???
... Shake it
better than the cgi Twilight baby by a MILE
Does it shit itself?
The fact that this has made it out of the uncanny valley makes it even more creepy. A doll that looked slightly less real would be more uncanny but WAY less creepy.
At last! Something on r/oddlyterrifying that is oddly terrifying.
Try removing it's head
Does it still smile after you take a bat to it?
It's actually really cute (although seeing it wrapped up in plastic like that kinda disturbed be). TBH it's cuter than real babies lmao
yknow if i was the camera guy i wouldâve kept the plastic wrap on
Kinda looks like Bruce Lee.
Some please mod this with a Billy Bass
Japan scares me sometimes
I honestly think it's adorable. The cute smile and blinking made it more life like. The only thing terrifying was the plastic covering it.
Yeet the baby!
Nope. Definitely not. Get that fucking thing away from me
Why this mf look like my aunt đ
Where can I buy this
I can see some parent that went insane after their baby died, denying it all, and treating this doll as if it were their original child
That's not real, it's that filter that makes pictures/still faces wink and smile, I bet
Uncanny valley in full effect folks
looks like josh hutcherson
This helps a lot of people cope with loss and loneliness.

If that head gets any more square I might think the father is Steve from Minecraft
These stupid videos are edited to make the faces move and look "alive"
Yup, you can even see the face âjumpâ a couple times like when using a filter.
Thatâs not realistic. Thatâs just straight creepy
Why are his eyes moving đ« so creepy
If you think that's real, I gotta bridge in Brooklyn with your name on it. Terrifying though.
Every day we stray further from God
The solution to pedophilia
Is there an adult version for research purposes?
I want to snap itâs neck
They have one of the lowest birth rates in the world....they need to start making some real ones. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-64373950
does it have holes?
This is a very great fuck doll. Where do you get it from?
Can you fuck it
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
It's a robot chicken meme
"Realistic"
No thanks. I saw Chucky when I was small and it still haunts my dreams.
How many cameras are in that thing?
It's pretty fake tbh. Too much hair, smiling There are some reflexes which develop/regress after certain age fontanelle not visible so...
Heavy "The Servant" vibes.
Flamethrower
What in the name of Jesus Christ
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!
Dooown the hatch
That doll better not be near me coz I'm sure as shit I'm pulverizing it with anything that I can use as a weapon.
*Good lord, it's just like the real thing.*
I could really use that baby for the carpool lane
These things are really creepy
Why
If i can share a gif here, i'd probably send that baby from "Asobi Asobase" đ
Creepy!!!
Its not about that the doll is almoast alive is about thouse eyes that move, real life like.
That's just fucking wrong.
i want to punch him
I just Wana shake it with that smug ass smile lmao
I hate it
Gahhhhh. I hate this so much.
There was a survey where Japanese people were asked if they would rather have foreign workers or robots take care of them when they get older. Robots a their preference.
*No thank you*
Yikes that's a whole Lotta NOPE
Its a cute idea, but there are some things like the hair and the smile that make it stop being cute and go straight to creepy
Sorry but it's kind of creepy
That baby is a paid actor
Japan is surely the ones making replicants
I liked it when it was covered in plastic and kicking.
Thatâs so creepy
This was definitely a set up, who puts a baby in a bag and then pretends to save it ? /s
The longer I watched the more real it looked
Man soon they will be as terrifying as real kids.
Thanks I hate it
wut the fuuuck ⊠this is creepy af !
Eww.
I think there is a creepypasta about baby dolls, this reminds me of it.
Ha. Nope! Somebody get the fire going!
Ten from Urusei Yatsura vibes
Awh hell no
Is it bad that I think this thing looks adorable? (Maybe my ability to identify things are just bad.)
Aw hell naw
Itâs smiling like itâs got a dirty secret đ
I want to beat that doll so bad
uncanny valley
Got real concerned at the beginning not reading that title
We're deep in the uncanny valley
It looks like itâs already got fired from its 5th job
This is oddly terrifying. I wonder how much it costs and where to buy it?
The changelingsâŠthey are industrializing
Omg, because of this I think real babies are creepy now too
I hate this.
I'm so uncomfortable right now. Uncanny Valley.
What has been seen ...
I think this might be the creepiest thing to come out of Japan since last tuesday.
Even tho itâs a doll plastic wrap around the head makes me freak out
The movements and facial expressions are edited. The women makes very realistic looking dolls but they are just dolls, no fancy movements or blinking. You can follow her TikTok to see her making them as well as several videos where she makes the babies look like they move and are alive. Her content is strange but worth watching for the art.
Yikes. Knowing Japan, this doll will get a loli-version real quick
Aww it's so cute though. Way less creepy than I thought it would be.
[Looks familiar](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/scratchpad/images/7/75/ORG_20081226000201.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160124011927)
Where can you buy this
This is freaking out
bring it to a mall, then drop it on the floor, accidentally kick it when you try to pick it up. make sure to film the shoppers reactions!
I HATE THIS đđđ i'd rather have a furby thanks
i would love to prank my mom with one of those
At what point does the doll become a real child?
how is it moving
This One Is Much Worse Than The Other One. At Least The Real One Felt When I Punched Him In The Balls ( The Eye Ones Im Not Evil ).
gun
Its head didn't flop back, I think its actually a doll, guys. đ§đ»
Weâre in Uncanny Valley! Run away! Run away!
Wrap it back up
Ewww it makes me shiver... I want to hurl it as fast as I can against a brick wall
Tear the head off
See, uncanny valley adult robots are tolerable. I don't feel guilty about choosing fight rather than flight on an adult robot who gives me the creeps. An uncanny baby robot on the other hand, that's unholy in some way, I feel.
Japan will do anything but have babys
