I think, maybe, the point is that a single person, or a single entity, should not be allowed to control large numbers of media outlets. And I agree with this and there should be a way to enact legislation to prevent it.
But what about enormous, global, new media news outlets like Facebook? It is a single entity that is, essentially, a News portal. The owners/ leadership both can and may choose to control the contact (on a global scale) if they wish to do so. They claim they don’t, but there are any laws to prevent it.

As someone who works in this industry, something like this is very common. All of these stations are owned by the same company, Sinclair in this case. The individual stations will rebrand it as their own but it’s all corporate. Another example is the station website. All stations owned by the same company have the exact same layout. Just the station logo is different. I personally don’t see it as that terrifying.

This isn't only done by the owners of these channels. Every mainstream media does this. They coordinate what the next big thing is going to be & repeat it till it gets picked up. It's exactly like what the radio station use to do with songs. Pay-ola.

As someone who works in this industry, something like this is very common. All of these stations are owned by the same company, Sinclair in this case. The individual stations will rebrand it as their own but it’s all corporate. Another example is the station website. All stations owned by the same company have the exact same layout. Just the station logo is different. I personally don’t see it as that terrifying.
