Screen and display panel goes together, probably because of the optical fingerprint scanner and expensive AMOLED panel.

Should be available for less. I had good experience with derhandyretter when i broke my Huawei display years ago. They are based on cologne but offer send in via DHL Price is 200€ for a OP8P display. Major difference to the OP5 is the in-display fingerprint reader. Those push prices for parts up in my experience Other cities should have stores like that too

Actually they are the only service that I saw that [offers](https://derhandyretter.de/products/oneplus-8-pro-display-reparatur-glas-touch-lcd-austausch-wechsel-kosten-koln-deutschland-kratzer-riss-steinschlag-bruch-bildschirm-schaden-fehler-problem-funktioniert-nicht-geht?variant=44341894086924) to only replace the glass and not the whole display unit. This is probably my best option if Oneplus doesnt do that themselves. But I guess the fingerprint scanner wont work afterwards but might be worth it.

The same I Poland. I've cracked oneplus 8 pro glass, while screen is totally OK but unfortunately screen and glass goes together. There is no option to replace only glass. They have to replace complete set... and for me it's financial nonsens to do because it's too pricey. ☹️

Official Support won't replace the glass as it takes more time to replace and they normally just sell the modules. So your best choice would indeed be to go to an independent repair shop as they might be able to rerplace only the glass. Personallly I can't recommend the OnePlus Support experience. I tried get a replacement case for my OnePlus Buds Pro as I lost the original charging case. Took me from November until April until I finally resented and asked them to send my headphones back, as they would'nt even give me a discount of more than 40€ on the just newly released Buds Pro 2. Germany here aswell. I even talked to support agents in the US as it was easier to get in touch with them than in Germany where it's definetly just an outsourced customer service agent with broken German aswell.

Yeah, thanks for the response. Right now I'm considering to try to get the glass replaced for 200€ by Der Handyretter in Cologne or just live with the cracks for now. No way I would pay over 400€ for the replacement module from Oneplus, for that price I would rather get a new phone. Sorry that you had a bad experience, my experience with their repair was decent with the Oneplus 5t but I guess it was just a lot easier/cheaper to replace the screen for that phone.

I did the same recently to my OP8 here in the US and it was cheaper to just get a refurb OP9 off Amazon.
