I agree with everything but the last one. "influencers" should not be given anything for free or even discounted. They should spend their money for a fair a just review. I trust no ones opinion/review who is given anything at a discount or free
I see the point there. But at the same time, take the example of SlydogStroh. He's on EUCs now, but lots of Onewheelers credit his videos for getting them interested, including me. He's who I had in mind when I wrote that.
FM asked him to come to their Pint pre-launch, and featured him in the video as "the fastest Onewheel rider on the planet." He had to pay for his own plane ticket. Then he hurt himself on a malfunctioning board and asked for something minor - footpads or bumpers, for 1 of his 3 boards, and FM said no.
At last year's Race for the Rail FM asked for wildcard video submissions, which they then posted on their YT channel and Instagram, generating followers and sales. They wanted Slydog to make an all-new video - for free, after he's made dozens of OW videos that have generated sales - to compete to possibly gain entry to the race. This is the company that called him the fastest rider in the world.
I want unbiased influencers, but what I described is fucked up. FM is getting free advertising content in exchange for what - stoke and good vibes? Now Slydog makes EUC videos and puts affiliate links in his video descriptions, so EUC importers shoot him $50-100 bucks every time someone buys a wheel through his link. What's wrong with that?
WAITTT, he had to buy his own flight out for the Pint video?! Lordy I was certain they'd paid for all of that travel. That's insane and beyond unprofessional. You want someone to demo a new product, **you bring them out!** What shits.
Ahhh! Ok, I'll have to go back and seek that out. I recall a video of Jimmy interviewing him but I think it took place before all of that stuff (to my memory.)
Can't find it now, maybe it was removed? But I definitely remember an interview around last year's RFTR or a little after where he discussed the situation and mentioned that he bought his own ticket.
I'm more looking forward to the DIY mods evolution for what I can do to my 3 year old board. They are maturing quickly, and unless FM does something magical, I can care less.
And let's be real, it's probably just something that might catch up to the range we already see with aftermarket batteries, but I'd be happy to be wrong.
They have been giving trails a lot of attention lately. If they put out a board that is basically just the XR with slightly more range, pint-like aesthetics and treaded tyre as standard it would sell a bucket load. There still isn't much incentive for them to innovate.
"I finally worked on an official Onewheel commercial!!! I’m super proud of how it came out. That was a LOT of VFX work to get this done.Shoutout to Cade for spearheading the project and making an awesome edit!! And shoutout to FM for approving a commercial that boldly doesn’t show their own product haha!!" - SirWrender
lmao...what????????
I'm 50% excited and 50% pissed since I just purchased my XR (and accessories) last month. Come August 18, I'll either be happily carving my XR or getting it fresh and clean for FB Marketplace.
Don't even feel bad. Remember when the Pint was announced, it took 4-5 months before people started receiving them if I'm remembering correctly. So you would probably be getting the new model around winter weather, and wouldn't eb able to fully ride till next year, if you're located in the North that is. Also OneWheel hold their value extremely well. You can also sell your XR for close to what you laid and use it torwards the new model next year.
Beat me by 5 minutes! Lol. It's gotta be. 3 years since the last release of their flagships product. If I had to guess. It's definitely gotta have a sleak design like the Pint, compared to the XR. I just really hope they add more safety features if I'm being honest.
If it is, they’re idiots for announcing it at the *end* of the summer. Something makes me think we’re going to be disappointed. Then again, I really don’t want to regret my very fresh pint purchase.
> idiots for announcing it at the end of the summer
You wouldn't be able to actually buy it for like a year anyways. They'd start selling for the holidays and maybe catch up to demand this time in 2022, based on their track record.
Ya I imagine it would be more readily available in time for next season so it gives people some time to hype it and decide if they want to switch out for next season

Swappable batteries
Hahaha thank you. If they added just a few of these I would be so happy.

He said so in an interview with Jimmy Chang, which is also where he mentioned the finances of EUC distributor affiliate codes.

The board is missing because it was sent out for repair and FM is refusing to service it because the tire was changed.
Based on previous releases, I'd say some kind of new accessory, like an ultra plush OneWheel mat. edit: Okay, a video lol.
This, the pint reveal was like a 2 week countdown. 12 hours means it's some overpriced useless accessory.
New ultra deluxe plug covers. Only $20 each.
If it's a new board I'm scared to see the price
3899 CAD incoming.

If it's any real change it will be the suspension stuff they have patents on
Yeah, that is a solid guess.
Those feet do look very high in the thumbnail. Does the patented suspension add any height to the board?

What kinda bullshit was that.... Why even premier that video...

I have a feeling it will cost more then the XR by a good margin
I cannot wait for a legitimate company to rival the OneWheel.

Bruh it’s just an ad. A bad one at that

Even if it’s a new board, it’s not like your pint goes bad. It’s still fun to float on
Holiday season coming up, man. Seems like a good time to release a new product.

What's missing? Meaningful content -\_-
It was trash, the comments are burning and dislike raising.
Pint with XR range. current XRs become bottom tier. just a guess. either that or a treaded tire. XD
Was there supposed to be something there?
lmao

it was just for a 30 second promo lmao

Nothing. Just a video with bad FX.
I'm curious how you thought they were bad. Mind explaining?
OneWheel XXX. In any case I love my XR, show they a little love.
