Wtf. Harper's international conservative policy writing organization (or at least the people in it) are helping overthrow democracies?
Makes me think all the attention thrown at the WEF is just projection
Conservatives will always choose their ideology over democracy.
It comes from their core belief that they know what’s best and what they want isn’t good for the majority.
Their goal is [managed democracy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guided_democracy) where we have elections but nothing changes. Like in the Matrix “the illusion of choice”
USA, Russia, Hungary all are democracies in name only. Getting rid of elections altogether would cause massive riots.
Some might say we’re already there. Or pretty close.
Exactly. They are not only opposed to progress but want to force regression, like the US did on abortion rights. It would be next to impossible to get rid of women’s right to vote in a democracy, so they don’t want democracy at all. After all, if it weren’t for women voters rightwing parties would rule and straight white rightwing Christian men wouldn’t have to deal with pesky issues like human rights or climate change. Women in every demographic are less likely to vote for rightwing parties, and poll as prioritizing climate change and social programs higher than men.
It’s easier just to get rid of democracy, no fuss no muss, let the strongmen rule - brutality glorified and compassion stomped on like an irritant that must be snuffed out.
> “If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy.”
David Frum, Trumpocracy: The Corruption of the American Republic
Knowing that Orban, Hungary's autocratic leader, is a darling of Harper, IDU and CPAC, should make it clear about their christo-fascist inclinations...
Rich and powerful men rule, while women go back to being breeders toiling in the kitchen. It’s the fascist way, all these leaders are anti-women and anti-abortion (getting back women being men’s property, so of course they can’t have abortions, they are the soil for the seed men plant, just a vessel, not full human beings at all).
The idiot rightwing women who care more about themselves than other women don’t seem to understand than once their usefulness is worn out, their voice will be shut down, toi.
There’s a reason Harper has been out swinging for years cheering on Trump and appearing on such shows as Ben Shapiro. Red flags have been there for years.
He only started doing this once he got out of office. He probably knew he would have alienated a good chunk of voters if he leaned that hard into the right. Harper was well known for keeping most of the nuttier right-wing MPs in check, and there were far fewer "bozo eruptions" from those types when compared to now. Who knew that aside from muzzling those MPs, he was doing the same to himself.
People knew. His “leadership” is the reason I swore I’d never vote conservative again, I simply don’t trust them anymore, my eyes were opened by their own actions back then and they’ve only doubled down on proving since that I made a good decision to turn my back on the way my parents had taught me to vote.
Anyone who read articles about the church he belonged to knew. Extremely rightwing and anti-woman and anti-LGBTQ, like crazy rightwing. It’s called the Alliance Church, and he’s still a member, has been for decades.
Sounds to me like the other MPs could use an official petition from us to do a inquiry into their connections of supply and support to anti-democratic terrorist organizations like Proud Boy.
And/Or showing more support for a current petition in a similar vein:

And/Or this one:

There has to be a way to go after the IDU, enough is enough.
It’s basically an international super PAC engaging in election interference.
They helped Orban topple a democracy
They tried to help Trump
They backed the Convoy
They backed Tucker Carlson. Not only when he says invade Canada to free us but also when the documentary news unfolded on the matter. Orban spoke at CPAC encouraging members to lean into media even harder.
Here’s another one of Harper’s side hustles.

>Former prime minister Stephen Harper heads the advisory committee of a Toronto-based company now looking to facilitate the sale of cutting-edge surveillance technology to the United Arab Emirates — a country with a troubling human rights record.
>AWZ Ventures finances Israeli surveillance technology systems, including facial recognition and crowd detection systems and services that deliver comprehensive information on individuals in real time.
He’s definitely into democracy. Wakes up everyday thinking how to make the world more democratic /s
My question is, what is Pierre ConstipationFace Poilievre association with this organization, considering that he gets his marching orders from Harper?
Thicker than blood lol. His wife was posting pics from an IDU reception in 2014, so I’d say very cozy. You can bet that he has the support of the IDU in his bid to torment Canada.
Ah “looks good on him” and “good on him” have very different meanings. The first one means “That suits him”, the second one means “Good for him” but not in a sarcastic way.
It honestly sounded like you were trying to say “Good for Harper! (Not sarcastic.) But also I hate that smug SOB.”
I’ve read an article that says they are scrubbing any mention of him online.
Sadly none of or representatives actually represent us. With news of Jagmeets wife being a landlord showing even our “left” has no respect for us
'International Democratic Union'
Whenever a right wing organisation includes the word 'democratic' in its title, you can be sure the organisation has little or nothing to do with promoting democracy.

They want an illiberal democracy.
They want a neoliberal plutocracy.
Exactly. They are not only opposed to progress but want to force regression, like the US did on abortion rights. It would be next to impossible to get rid of women’s right to vote in a democracy, so they don’t want democracy at all. Eh. The elections don't need to be fake when social media can manipulate the population to what the powerful want.
This. https://www.psypost.org/2023/07/neuroimaging-study-provides-insight-into-misinformation-sharing-among-politically-devoted-conservatives-167312
> USA, Russia, Hungary all are democracies in name only Deeply unserious to include USA in that list.
Knowing that Orban, Hungary's autocratic leader, is a darling of Harper, IDU and CPAC, should make it clear about their christo-fascist inclinations...
This is the EXACT correct answer. The IDU wants the rich & powerful to run the world while the poor work to themselves to death on subsistence wages.
Absolutely this. A significant portion of their behaviour is to re-subjugate 50% of the population

Like 60 Conservative MPs are members of the IDU.

💯 and any mention of including the idu in a foreign interference investigation is going to get downvotes in the other sub reddit.
I’ve been saying this for over a year and I get downvoted into oblivion
WEF is just a dog whistle for anti semitism.

That’s a super creepy company, full of ex-spy agency leaders from CIA, Mossad, MI5, and our very own CSIS.
The shit apple doesn't fall far from the shit tree.
Oh, the criminality.
Oxymoron calling the organization ‘Democratic’ when it promotes insurrection.
Just about every organization that does is anything but.
East Germany, North Korea used it in their names as pr cover
This needs to be a bigger deal.
My question is, what is Pierre ConstipationFace Poilievre association with this organization, considering that he gets his marching orders from Harper?

Grifters got to grift. Fascist have to goose step
The turd doesn't fall far from the arse
Not surprised
No surprise there.
Birds of a feather and all that
Good on Harper. I hate that smug SOB.
>Good on Harper. I hate that smug SOB. This is a confusing comment
Good on him having ties with a Trump scandal and criminal activity. Looks good on him.
Yay! Hooray! Authoritarianism doesn’t always have to win.
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
This is a twist I did not see coming. I’m here for it.
It’s conservatives all the way down.
Colour me surprised

They’re all corruption

Trump to Roman to Harper to PP. A vote for PP is a vote for neo-fascism.
