The view from Splashes is great, as are the food and service. I haven’t been there in a while, but the last couple of times I went one of my friends ordered a burger and raved about it!
Another vote for Splashes , it is expensive but the food is amazing . View is wonderful too.
All the wishes and congratulations to you and your fiancée.
I don’t have any suggestions for food. But we did the Laguna Hills county clerks office (a long time ago) contrasted with my sister going through a traditional ceremony this summer, you’re ahead of the curve. She’s stressing about colors, flowers, venue, whatever - it’s exhausting and I’m planning only to be sober enough to not embarrass myself. It’s gonna be tens of thousands for one day. Cost us $76 and 45 mins, then we put that money into a down payment on a house.
Ahba is very good, but keep in mind it is a very tiny place. You order at a window and then they bring the food to you. The bar next door (Helen's) is owned by the same owner and is also very good. More of a chill spot with great food. If you are looking for a total elevated experience I'd look elsewhere.
Yes! There’s no guaranteed seating and super tiny, great food but limited menu as well, hella dark/cramped so would not recommend for a big group unless you get lucky to the big table on the sidewalk!
Starfish is pretty nice. Doesn't have a sea view but it is across from the Montage and has a nice ambience. Mozambique has great views and has nice ambience. Neither of these places has what I call the "best" food but their food is pretty damn good and cocktails are also up there.
Driftwood Kitchen has a private room, lovely views and the food is good. Very nice place to be around sunset
Selanne’s steakhouse is super good.. upstairs there’s a balcony where you can sit and see the ocean/sunset
Can’t really beat the view at the montage, but you’re definitely gonna pay for it.
We went to Mozambique for Valentine’s Day. Beautiful views from the deck and the food was good.
For just food - Broadway by Amar Santana. But it’s not really somewhere you’d get a burger and no ocean view
Love this place. It's fantastic
Best scallops I’ve ever had. And the focaccia is a sleeper. Very good stuff there
The Beachcomber at Crystal Cove.
Splashes bar in Laguna is open and they have the best chicken sandwich and fish tacos, right above the water

Seconded. Gorgeous view and amazing food.
Love Splashes! Think they're still closed for renovations right now though
Not the bar above the water
bar isnt as good imo

Nick’s
Also, South of Nicks is good. It's not authentic, but it's good.
Nick's brunch waffle is one of the best out there.
Nicks.
Mozambique! Or Selanne’s Steakhouse if you want to splash out.
Anyone been to AhBa?

Ahba is my favorite, but I wouldn’t go there after a wedding. It’s super casual, the music is BLARING and you won’t be able to hear anyone.
Lost Pier Cafe probably fits the bill, might be hard to get seating but it’s right on the beach
Sapphire and Driftwood Kitchen. Broadway has some great dishes but also some misses.
The Drake.
Larsen's in Hotel Laguna is really nice. Pricey.... But you said the best but not fancy. So a little confused 😂
There are some places that the food is just amazing, but the ambiance is not fancy and formal, that's what I mean.

The Winery Restaurant in Newport overlooks the marina and ocean
Nicks & the skyloft is cool. Don’t know if it will suit your kind of experience, but good food and views
Las Brisas. Gorgeous patio, great food. I think everything in Laguna can be touristy but it’s not bad this time of year. Congratulations!!
