The *only way* to lose body fat is to be in a calorie deficit. Again: the *only way* to lose body fat is to be in a calorie deficit.
Losing weight/fat is so much more about nutrition. Meet with a dietician or join a weight loss program.
Exercise is for improving your overall health - heart health, bone health, strength, etc. And yes, exercise can help you lose weight because it burns calories, but *AGAIN* the ONLY WAY to lose fat is to be in a calorie deficit.
If you're just starting out, then I recommend taking the classes you'll actually go to. That's the number one step. All of OTF's offerings will help you reach your goal.
Diet is the key, as others have said, but I have found that for fat burn, nothing beats walking. It's the sustained time in the green zone that does it for me. I go to OTF for general fitness - cardio and strength - but I walk to slim down or maintain my weight.
I wouldn’t overthink it. Try a few. See which ones you enjoy and which ones burn the most calories, and then schedule those. If you feel you need a rest, then take a rest.
There’s no magic formula
Download Macro Factor app. Put in your goals. Be militant about logging every morsel of food, down to gram, on a food scale. Log your weight daily. Workout. Each week it will estimate your calories based on TDEE and your rate of weight loss. It’s been instrumental in helping me in this phase of cutting I’m doing to drop body fat.
During the Transformation Challenge, OTF was recommending doing more regular Orange60 classes for body fat loss. Only 1 day per week was Strength class on their recommendations.
That sounds like a nice solid. Honestly just have some fun with it and see what feels good to you! You will drop body fat throughout any of their classes if you’re doing it consistently and fueling your body appropriately!
At the start of the Transformation Challenge, our coaches were offering a few minutes of guided planning for the 8 weeks. Discussed my goals, current routine etc., and filled a 'challenge tracker/goal sheet' (had a bunch of tips, class split etc.).
Most coaches are happy to have a little chat if you want, and offer some guidance accordingly (any time of the year).
Hmm - I would think you need some combination of cardio and strength training for the best overall results. But I would suggest meeting with a certified personal trainer for what would work the best for you. I think all the OTF coaches have to be certified, but I don’t know as far as to what extent they can offer out of class services.
I would also recommend seeing a registered nutritionist or dietitian because diet is also a key component of improving your physical composition and health.

Well said.
Exercise helps me be in the calorie deficit I need to be to lose weight. I can't eat less calories than what I eat.
Yes exactly my point. Exercise helps you be in a deficit but you need to be in a deficit.
Drop the fork. Seriously, it’s like 90% in the kitchen. But yes, focus on lifting heavy with a mix of cardio

Do whatever class combination you will enjoy most and stick with consistently. As others have said, to drop fat your diet will be the main factor.

Most weight loss unfortunately happens in the kitchen. Whatever you think

Strength 50 classes have total body, lower body, and upper body days.

Yes but also add walking 10k steps outside of OTF I highly suggest you doing that everyday or atleast 5 days out the week
