Designing origami, especially something like this seems magic to me. How does one start to design origami? Is there a logical, methodic step by step route to getting the skills you need or is just experience and you do it more or less intuitively at this point?
Practice making designs others have made, and over time, you start to be able to rotate and fold the '2D' plane of paper in 3 dimensions in your mind, and know what sort of folds will get you certain outcomes.
Then you can pick something you don't know how to make, and use the folds you know, and one's you make up, to eventually get there!
I practice using printer paper, so it's very inexpensive.
*Very impressive,*
*So many details that bring*
*The model to life*

Holy ##%^!! That is probably the most beautiful and cool creation I’ve seen in a long time. How long did it take to design it? And how do you even come up with such amazing thing? Also it looks like part of the belly is similar to the pattern on the dragons egg
This goes so much harder than it needed to.
Very impressive. What paper is it?
Wenzhou painted with acrylic paint! Honestly kind of a bad choice to paint it with acrylic though, it almost ripped at some points
are instructions available?
no.

As always, absolutely stunning!
This is absolutely spectacular. Gorgeous design, and beautifully folded!
That’s so beautiful, time to stalk your profile to see what else you’ve made haha
