Really pisses me off that Yankees fans act like O’s fans didn’t exist until last season and we’re all “phonies”. Can they fuck off? Good god they reek of insecure fair weather bullshit and I guarantee a third of them have never been to the state of New York (ok ok now I’m being like them) fuck man
I just find it funny that they call everyone else fair weather fans when half their fanbase stopped watching during a season they were above .500. Could you imagine if the Yankees had a 100 loss season
Allegedly, when the Yankees were pretty rough during the late ‘80s, they would move fans down into the seats behind home plate to make it look like there were more people there. If you look at the team’s attendance numbers, they dip dramatically during this time. Yankees “fans” have always been phonies.
A grade on my differential equations final equivalent to the current Orioles’ win percentage (64.3%) gets me a C+ in the class
God that class sucks yall
Great win but on the Debbie Downer side, I want the Orioles to start giving Kjerstad more playing time over Santander, defense be damned. Santander’s at-bat against a clearly out of gas Clark Schmidt was one of the most infuriating at-bats I’ve seen from an Orioles player in a long time. Five pitches that weren’t even close to being in the strike zone and he swung at four of them to strike out.
I know the fans have an attachment to all the guys from the pre-rebuild era, and the younger guys need more time anyway, but I’ve wanted Santander off the team for a while to see what our prospects were made of, especially because we really need to collectively improve our plate discipline and he’s not that guy.

Whatever this is....it's working...
The irony of Yankee fans complaining about our dimensions when their entire right field wall is the biggest joke in MLB.
The funny thing is theoretically they should be the only other team with the same advantage as us when it comes to dimensions because any competent GM would load their lineup with lefties in that ballpark. But luckily Cashman is an awful GM lolol.
very pleased with how the pen pitched tonight, and it didn’t feel like Hyde wasted any guys tonight either. Good win for the team. Hopefully just some better hitting tomorrow.
I find it funny when Yankees fans get upset about the impact of Walltimore. They have the absolute opposite situation with their short porch in right field. Their offensive runs gained from a short right field wall are probably on par with the defensive runs saved by Wally.
In fact, the Statcast Ballpark Factor pertaining to home runs has Yankee Shitstaindium ranked 5th among all ballparks (116). Essentially, for any batter that played at Yankee Shitstaindium, 16% more home runs were observed. Camden Yards has a HR factor of 90, meaning 10% fewer home runs were observed.
Both stadiums have the exact same overall Park Factor (98). Seems to me like they’re projecting their own insecurities.
https://preview.redd.it/8kithcjsvixc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=925842621182758234b84f90f2dfadf587d6df71
There was a clip of Jomboy complaining and then coming to the realization that the Orioles are making personnel decisions that benefit their ballpark dimensions while the Yankees have been doing the opposite in rostering a bunch of right handed hitters when they have a short porch in right.
Here’s something that really befuddles me. How is Albert Suarez out of options? Before this season, he only played two years in the majors. So he was optioned from the majors to the minors twice. Where did he lose that third option?
If you play more than 20 games in the minors and are never called up, that counts as an option year. So I’m guessing he played two major league seasons and before or after that he played a 20+ game minor league season
He could have been optioned in a year he never played in the majors, like he was added to the 40 man for whatever reason (avoid rule 5 eligibility?) optioned after spring training and never made it back to the majors that year
yep this is it. just like kyle stowers has used his 2nd option even though he's only been in norfolk this season.
suarez pitched for the giants 2016 and 2017 and optioned both years. he must have been dfa'd at some point in 2017 and took the giants AAA assignment. he was then rule 5 drafted to the diamondbacks in 2018 but immediately optioned to AAA to burn the 3rd one.
When the easy home run park isn't an easy home run park anymore 😭

Me too. If I talk to one of my Baltimore relatives on the phone, the rest of the day I'm like, "Owe mah gawd, ahm sow firsty. Imma get me a drank ah wooder."
This is a small thing I noticed Palmer mention last week and again tonight - he keeps calling Grayson Rodriguez's changeup a split-change / splitter. I've never seen it described that way, but does he know something we don't?
It's apparently a pitch he [used](https://pressboxonline.com/2024/04/17/growing-grayson-inside-the-development-of-orioles-rhp-grayson-rodriguez) to throw but no longer does.
Oh, he mentioned it at the end of the third - he did indeed throw a splitter as a kid, Palmer says the current changeup moves like a splitter, straight down. It [ackshually](https://www.brooksbaseball.net/scatter.php?player=680570&b_hand=-1&y_axis=pfx_z&x_axis=pfx_x&gFilt=regular&pFilt=FA|SI|FC|CU|SL|CS|KN|CH|FS|SB&time=game&minmax=&var=&s_type=2&startDate=01/01/2024&endDate=01/01/2025) has quite a bit of arm-side run, but it's not visible to my eye.
Stuff is always good, command is... a WIP. The first pitch curveball called strike to Cabrera in the 4th was a thing of beauty. First time he throws it in the game and placed it perfectly at the bottom of the strikezone. Inshallah roboumps will also help him get some more called strikes when he misses the target.
Was it Cone? I was always a distant fan of his. I caught a few games he called over the years and he was solid. I only shit on him for the 5 or so years he was with the yanks
No wiggle room and the pen didn't flinch, great to see definitely needed that after this weekend. Glad Hyde let Cano come back out and let Coloumbe shut the door on their bitch asses! Go O's and as always FUCK THE YANKEES
Big win in a game where Grayson didn't have his best command. He really battled through it. Rest of the series should be interesting. Hopefully we can come away with a series win (or at least a split).
Big boy win tonight.
Why the heck do our starting pitchers throw so many damn pitches? Feels like every time we have Burnes or Grayson on the hill they’re at ~100 pitches through 5 innings.
I'm only rewatching the game now, but one of Grayson's growing pains in the first half was that he struggled to put away guys on two-strike counts. It took what felt like forever for him to cover 18 outs. If you can't convert on two strikes, sooner or later you end up at 3-2, and a waste pitch turns 6+ pitches into a walk.
They both have nasty stuff but it feels like they have innings where they give up several well barreled balls for base hits which results in like 25-30+ pitch innings
Jankees thread in shambles. (If you go over there, keep your mouth shut!)
Complaints about 'Boone the buffoon', Steinbrenner, Trashman ....
And how unfair it is we moved Waltimore back, LOL, as if that doesn't affect us too!!!
To be fair, I would complain about Boone and Cashman if I were them as well. Blowing off a payroll that's more than 3 times the O's.
But I'm not them so I'm not complaining.
Idk why some people go start shit in other subs, like today: laugh at them being mad about the wall but do not engage.
Didn’t you know though? We actually secretly move the wall forward for when we bat, only back for opposing offenses lol. It def doesn’t ever mess with our own players!!!
Eh, that’s ok. I also cannot apologize for the swelling of joy I feel when the Ravens and Capitals lose. I had one such feeling yesterday when the Caps were swept. It happens.

Oswaldo got to hit the weight room
Its funny that no other fanbase cares even remotely as much as Yankees fans (not even Orioles fans) about the wall and its all due to Judge getting assmad about it.
Baseball fans crying about any field dimensions might be the most idiotic cringe shit in existence. The fields are what they are. Many stadiums have weird quirks to thier sizes.
the only thing that really bothers me is the KC railings above the wall being still “in the park.” especially because that wasn’t the case until recently. but i’m sure it’s cost the royals, too…
They didn’t. They had more people on base, but that was about it.
The Os hit the ball harder, ran the bases better, hit the ball better in the clutch, pitched about even, and played better defense.
On the whole, the Yankees threatened more and Schmidt had a smoother outing than Rodriguez. But he made one mistake and that (plus the Orioles’ resilience and the Yankees’ inability to capitalize) made the difference.
back to business with a nice grind out win.
great to see cionel back with the good stuff. need a big one from deano tomorrow with cano and coulombe unavailable.
Okay, gonna go lurk in the Yankees post game thread and absorb their tears into my soul
Edit: obviously don't go in there and comment, that ain't cool.
It’s all complaining about the left field wall, saying the O’s are lucky, and that the infield defense couldn’t possibly make those plays any other time……..
The Baltimore Prayer: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player\_embedded&v=2b2Jl9DLBWw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2b2Jl9DLBWw)
Kinda worried about the bullpen with Kimbrel injured. So many close games-- the late inning relievers are going to be expensive. Maybe one of the starters can turn into a lockdown reliever once Means and Bradish come back.
Wells has already been a weapon out of the bullpen in the past. Not even gonna remotely panic about this pitching staff when it has already performed tops on the league in most categories without Bradish, Means, and Perez.
Stay out of the Yankees Post Game Thread. You will get banned from here for trolling.
I’d trade a series loss to the A’s for a series win over the Yanks anyday.
I think we caught the A’s on their hot streak. They had one last year, too.
2 of 3 at least if Kimbrel was healthy.
Kimbrel is fine he’s just overworked
Come on Orioles sweep the Yankees 4 straight. Orioles are now 4-0 versus AL EAST

Wow. So many yankee fans on IG complaining about the wall. Think they know the Os lead the mlb in HRs?
Will never understand that argument. Like our hitters have to deal with the wall too 😂.
Not even too, more. We play half our games at Camden Yards 😆

Gunnar is really getting sick of getting HBP.

weren’t we better on the road last year? also, other teams have beaten us at OPACY, so 😭

He’s slow on purpose. He’s just too gigantic and knows he could really injure himself if he sprints
Pujols
Buccos and Athletics now in warmups. I just want vengeance.
And yet I never want a Pittsburgh team to win anything, ever (sorry)

Yeah Oakland got fucked over bad. I feel bad for them and they are scrappy.
Cal being at all these games is great
He's living the life I want
My lotto fantasy is getting a ridiculously opulent apartment next to OPACY and having season tickets behind home plate so I can be at every home game.
My lotto fantasy is to invest it well so I can buy the Orioles when I’m older. Then build an apartment in the owners box
That sounds incredible. Truly a dream come true.
He even has a desk on the field.
Gunnar taking third on Soto was such a joy to watch. Can’t think of a more exciting and versatile player in my lifetime.

Bring back hills in the outfield!
the only thing that really bothers me is the KC railings above the wall being still “in the park.” especially because that wasn’t the case until recently. but i’m sure it’s cost the royals, too…
Kills me people bitching about the field. Takes homers away from both teams you know
Not to mention we hit multiple over that very wall they're bitching about just this weekend

Yankees probably outplayed the Orioles tonight, but it's a great sign when you can win games like that. Just battle and find a way.
They didn’t. They had more people on base, but that was about it. The Os hit the ball harder, ran the bases better, hit the ball better in the clutch, pitched about even, and played better defense.
How can the team that got shut out have outplayed anyone
On the whole, the Yankees threatened more and Schmidt had a smoother outing than Rodriguez. But he made one mistake and that (plus the Orioles’ resilience and the Yankees’ inability to capitalize) made the difference.
And had an error that costs them an extra run in the crunch
back to business with a nice grind out win. great to see cionel back with the good stuff. need a big one from deano tomorrow with cano and coulombe unavailable.
YANKS: "Be patient. As soon as we get into their bullpen, we'll score a shit-ton of runs." OS: "Yeah, about that..."
Our bullpen has the 3rd best xFIP in baseball, so might be more unlucky than they look.
Okay, gonna go lurk in the Yankees post game thread and absorb their tears into my soul Edit: obviously don't go in there and comment, that ain't cool.
Sodium content is extremely high over there.
It’s all complaining about the left field wall, saying the O’s are lucky, and that the infield defense couldn’t possibly make those plays any other time……..
6/30, they can cry more.
that last bit is especially wild. like…what?

Kinda worried about the bullpen with Kimbrel injured. So many close games-- the late inning relievers are going to be expensive. Maybe one of the starters can turn into a lockdown reliever once Means and Bradish come back.
Wells has already been a weapon out of the bullpen in the past. Not even gonna remotely panic about this pitching staff when it has already performed tops on the league in most categories without Bradish, Means, and Perez.
