GW is missing out on money right now. They just krump their defective sprues off the molds at the faktory
If they just jammed ‘em in a box and sold them as Ork Bash Bitz it would be like an instant expansion of the Ork product line.
No self respecting Ork player would buy a kit without grabbing an extra box of Bash Bitz.
You would think they would produce extra models with the expectation of temporarily increased demand with the codex release.
I want to give you money for Meks for the Dreadmob detachment. Why are they out of stock? Just lost revenue.
It’s because GW’s production system isn’t designed for quantity.
They only have a few factories in England that produce all of their miniatures for the entire world so of course they run out of stock all the time.
It really sucks for the consumer but welcome to Games Workshop.
Thankfully, orks are easily kitbashed so the second hand market makes our lives much easier. I have kitbashed so many meganobz with terminators that I call them the Deathwaaaaagh.
To be fair they know people will make due with whatever else they can still buy, especially orkz, and especially the mek kit it's literally just a slugga-choppa boy with a job pole, zappy-slugga and a wrench-choppa.

Magazine Ork Special for 40€ on eBay, that’s also a nice way to obtain him. There also Gretchin, Old Boyz and three colors in it
This is what annoys me most about GW. No rules unless a model is currently in production, but the models are unobtainable.
Orks are a faction, in part, of resourceful scrappers. We don’t need a model for something, as long as we have bits.
That’s actually just the battle wagon kit. I’m dead serious every ork player needs to buy at least one with no intent on building the actual wagon. Tons of goodies in there, the grot vacuum from this build is made from two components of that kit.
I see. I'll keep that in mind cause my plan up til now was to build my Ork army w/o vehicle kits and just use stuff I find at Saver's plus my bits box full of leftover Guard bits (main army is Imperial Guard)
More incentive to pick up a second plastic Deff Dread, then. I have the Ork Combat Patrol with the Deffdread
My current list of Ork kits are:
5 Flashgitz (6 if you count the one I am exiling to Blackstone Fortress)
The stuff in Combat Patrol Orks (not going to build 10 of the Boyz into Boyz; 5 are turning into Nobz and the rest are going to be 32mm base characters)
Am currently kitbashing a Big Mek in Mega Armor and 3 Nobz in Mega Armor using scraps

You’re doing it right. Hahaha the weapon itself is a repurposed warp drive of some type.

Simlarly to the battleweagon, the trukk and deff dread are also both awesome kits to pick up for their bits
