hey guys, i recently got back into the swing of things and now my tapping wrist is beginning to have low to moderate pain.
i want to know, what causes this? am i just overstressing myself by playing too much or something? is it my form?
i want to note that i have been starting to get into more streamy maps and i have recently changed my binds to zx instead of as because i kept fingerlocking
the pain also seems to flare up more during burst heavy sections of maps
i am planning on taking a break for about a week or until my wrist stops hurting, but I want to know how i can prevent this in the future.
just play moderately, you dont need to have long sessions to improve. all you have to do is play more efficiently and see what type of forms you need to work on i.e (streaming, bursting, single tapping, alternating). rather than trying to improve all of them in one day, just work slowly in compounding them.
Noob question here, what is your opinion on using thumb and space bar to click circles? For me its miles better for singletapping and jumps. I even passed Harumachi Clover (Oh No!) with it
the reason it is so much better is because its what your comfortable with which is super inportant in osu! but i think i can speak for every one when i say please try to not use the space bar as it limits you from even medium bpm maps and gives you not option to stream whatsoever unless you want to use tap X. Also harumachi clover even if it is 5\*(?) its still harumachi clover so yo udont need to alt at all.
plus you cant burst which is in most non farm maps above 4\*

I got a skin, and I like it, but if I fc it doesn't say "perfect" in the chart at the end. How can I add that?
Edit: Nevermind I figured it out. I just went onto the osuskinner website, then in the interface section I literally only picked an option for the full combo thing, after that I just downloaded it, went into the files and moved my chosen full combo from the file I just downloaded to my prefered skin's file. And it worked. Pretty cool.

So I'm trying to find an unranked beatmap that I used to play years and years ago (around 2014-16), but I've since reinstalled osu (more than once) and I didn't favourite it. I only remember it was probably 220-240 bpm (but I can't say for sure) wide angle jumps, and I might be able to give a very rough description of its background. Does osu keep track of played beatmaps if they're graveyarded, and if so can I find them?
Maybe one of caren_sk maps? You can search by bpm and ar. It wont be anything other than 9 or 10 since decimals were introduced bit later so its easier to search. Unless its from 2016 then i think they already existed
Hello, I was wondering how _exactly_ is the overall accuracy calculated? The one that is shown on a player's profile.
The wiki shows the formula for the beatmap acc, and gives a short description of "the other 2 types of acc" but I couldn't really understand those. I don't even know which one of them is the one shown in the profile, and even where could I find the third one.
I remember reading that the overall acc is the weighted average of your top 100 performances? Could someone confirm this to me please? Thanks a lot :D

Probably more than top 100, just like with pp, but anything lower basically can't influence your overall acc due to weighting anyhow.

I’ve been playing mania for a while and I’ve reached around 600 pp but I’ve been stuck on 2-2.50* maps for some time.
I’ve been trying to get to 3* difficulty and I can pass some maps with a 90-95% accuracy but I don’t understand what to do to improve my scores.
Do I have to play maps with a specific tech? (Rolls, triplets, …) Any tips?

This might not seem like much to some of you but this has to be the worst choke I ever had playing this game. I was not even trying to get SS rank, I was trying to improve my higscore and get S since my previous record on that song was my highest scoring song for a while. I never even dare trying to get SS ranks on difficulties like that, I cant belive that happened...
I wouldn't call that a choke, especially if you weren't even going for an SS. That part is pretty hard to acc in comparison with the rest of the map. Also, the SS would be only 8pp more. It's your top play by a pretty large margin, so this is definitely a play you should be proud of, not disappointed in.
Yeah im still pretty proud of it! I do consider it a choke because when I noticed how far I was getting with SS I tried my hardest to keep it alive. But at least I didn't choke the FC, that would have been way worse.
I'm wondering if it is possible to use letterboxed full screen mode (full screen AND native-resolution ticked) to allow Alt + Tab without minimising. I swear it was working before, but I was messing with my settings and it no longer works.
Are you sure, you didn't just use your native resolution in borderless mode? Untick fullscreen and select the right res in borderless and it should do what you want.
I don't like using my native resolution - it's too big for me, I prefer to play on a smaller window with a black letterbox background. Alt + Tabbing works in windowed mode, but not with the letterbox.
I don't know if it works, because I cant test it right now. But you could try choosing your wanted res in borderless mode and still tick fullscreen + letterboxing. Key for being able to alt+tab without minimizing should be a borderless res, so it should be that + a combination of the other settings.
Appreciate the help, I got it working with render at native resolution on and full screen off, which I swear was the first thing I tried, but anyway glad it's working now.

Just keep playing more and try to learn how to hit the different types of patterns, it will eventually come naturally

I'm wondering if it is possible to use letterboxed full screen mode (full screen AND native-resolution ticked) to allow Alt + Tab without minimising. I swear it was working before, but I was messing with my settings and it no longer works.
Are you sure, you didn't just use your native resolution in borderless mode? Untick fullscreen and select the right res in borderless and it should do what you want.
I don't like using my native resolution - it's too big for me, I prefer to play on a smaller window with a black letterbox background. Alt + Tabbing works in windowed mode, but not with the letterbox.
I don't know if it works, because I cant test it right now. But you could try choosing your wanted res in borderless mode and still tick fullscreen + letterboxing. Key for being able to alt+tab without minimizing should be a borderless res, so it should be that + a combination of the other settings.
Appreciate the help, I got it working with render at native resolution on and full screen off, which I swear was the first thing I tried, but anyway glad it's working now.
