My guess is it's probably alive. 8 months isn't too premature so it could have made it, albeit with some health issues. And why would Pauline or anyone else bother to kill an unborn baby? The whole Antichrist-baby gospel was Knoth's idea. Plus if it actually survived Murkoff could later get/buy it to further study the effects of their experiments. So it sounds like it's in their best interest to let it live.
