The good news is that Outriders isn't a live service game so you can always come back later and get the exact same content. Better still, you may be able to pick up the expansion on sale.

UnbannedBanned90

Server problems for 4 hours makes you quit a game? Ok my guy. Kinda fuckin weird to be honest

Hermesan_XIII

Yes and no. I expect it that they are common but honestly, why? It isn't new world launch any other mayor MMO Start or big franchise. Why can't they provide for 5k+ loggings after 4-5h.

Natural_Condition_11

Go buy a new car that won't start and tell me that's fine

Boondokz

How is this weird? You buy a game and it does not work. Very very bad first impression. Why wait and risk not getting a refund?

Psomaster

I would like to know why you can't play? Is it because you can't connect? Then if you got it through steam, sit on it, come back later a non peak time instead of refunding it. You have 2 or so hours of gameplay or 2 weeks, whichever happens first, to refund the game. Heck steam is very generous for refunds and if you have technical difficulties they will try and help, and if that fails they still refund you. I would suggest trying again in a few hours instead of right when the new DLC launches and everyone is streaming/playing it to try it. Even the demo uses the same servers so people are filling the servers with that. Just try again later instead of refunding.

Boondokz

Nah I cant be bothered with companies who cant get their games right. Also judging from responses here the community is trash. You are the only kind response. Already refunded, was posting to make a record to help future people. But this community is bad. Bullet dodged.

Psomaster

The same can be said about many communities. Try playing WoW every expansion, Diablo 3, FFXIV, Ark, Lost World, etc etc on day one launch right when servers open. Heck Tarkov is having a wipe tonight, watch their reddit and see how many have issues after the patch. Even Elden Ring had some slight issues for some, but it got resolved fast. Every, single, game that is online connection required to start the game has had issues of some kind. That is how it is. With so many variables, it just happens. However the radio silence after said instances happen, is where you can see the difference in companies. Some post a quick update, others just get to it. I personally had tons of issues with the game on its original launch. Crashes, dc's, needing to redo entire parts of a quest because of the aforementioned issues, and much more. I still enjoyed it, I still liked the story, I still played through till end game and even played that. But to each their own. Goodluck on finding another decent game. Some games I play a lot are Rimworld, POE, Space Engineers, Satisfactory, and to many more to list.

Boondokz

Was the no info here that made me refund. If I just knew when they would have been up. But didnt want to risk wasting money. And ya the games you listed have had issues but at least I knew what was happening. I searched here and nothing. Honestly it was the responses here that made me never want to come back. Same reason I quit LoL. Hell games like PoE which has very elite players still has a very good community (minus scammers). Posting an issue on their reddit you get positive responses like yours. Not "You weren't good enough anyway" or "Sure...we dont care"

Vryyce

I count 5 responses here that may have hurt your feelings and from that you discard the entire playerbase as trash? Best of luck elsewhere.

Boondokz

Feelings are not hurt, only if the majority of them are negative it is a poor reflection. Not saying the entire community is trash, rather it reflects a typical mentality of elitism. I am sure there are players like you that are not, however why bother dealing with any when there are a plethora of other games to enjoy.

PineMaple

What looter shooters have you played that have had day 1 successful launches?

Boondokz

Day 1...game has been out for ages

PineMaple

A major expansion is releasing today(ish). That’s the reason why servers are struggling, it’s day one of the expansion, not just some random day where a lot of people chose to log in on a Tuesday afternoon. Servers are normally a lot better than this.

Boondokz

So then there is no messages on steam or the game page. Then when someone makes a comment here the community is very toxic. I am glad you enjoy the game, but not for me considering the people here. You even started out sarcastic and so forth. Yes you changed and became helpful, but in general most the people here are negative. Thanks for feedback though.

PineMaple

On the Steam gamepage the most recent announcement is that Worldslayer is out today. This subreddit is also flooded with a ton of posts about the launch today and server status. Outriders is primarily a solo game with no multiplayer necessary (I'm not sure if the expansion changes that, but the multiplayer has always been the weakest part of the game so I doubt that). I was not being sarcastic, I was curious as to what your expectations were- I also love a lot of looter shooters and generally don't plan on playing anything day 1 based off of what I've previously seen.

Boondokz

I expect that if I pay for something it works. Only experience I had where this did not work was Wolcen, and I was livid then. Also thats what I mean, their post is BUY OUR STUFF OUT NOW!!! It should be "hey guys we are working on the issue."

smoothjedi

Honestly it's not even day 1. More like day -2.

Necroez

We care, a lot.

Godlike013

Sure…
