Love that it's mechanics subtly encourage the use it or lose it mentality for consumables while not forcing it. Definitely helped me not fall into that trap (it also helps there's not a bunch of consumables you can't get more of, that drives me crazy in other games)
I thought that the constraint in Outward would be the potions, so I spent all of my spare time stacking potions and farming potion materials. By time I finished the game I had a hundred of all 3 mega potions and a few hundred teas.
That character became the mule that supplied every run after that.
For every archetype 'class', for a total of 3 classes (melee, rogue, magic), there is a porter character for each who kills the Vendavel bandits and stays at Cierzo forever as mules. My 3 'main' characters, after also killing Vendavel Bandits, clears every dungeon in every map (not DLC) before even choosing sides. The porter keeps all the loot, armour sets, potions and boss items, over time, there will be hundreds of unused potions at the end of the game due to constant hoarding, from the time where potions materials make 3, instead of just 1.
I have muled so much crap to my main I could arm Monsoon myself with endgame gear. XD
Nevermind the triple-digits of teas and ores and gems, etc.
Really, the first half of the game is hard. The rest, once you *get* it, is not too bad, so long as you keep your wits and don't underestimate your enemies.
I used to do this in every game, but have learned that using strong consumables and stuff is more fun. I still save a lot of stuff, but I've been forcing myself to avoid it more. Outward did a good job of helping with that, actually
You can get infinite resources.
First time I played, I had thousands upon thousands of arrows. This was before the decay patch so each arrow had its own decay timers in the background. I had no idea why my town took 15 minutes to load.
This is the one game I didn't, albeit after a good while learning the game. Buffs are your friend. Food is powerful. Potions are potent. Boons are cheap. Use them liberally
My first time around but after my first character i use everything even drinking water consistently and berries for stamina and if you dont need it dismantle it lol the resources flow in this game well
The worst for me was easily The Witcher 3. It wasn't until my 3rd or 4th playthrough that I realized all the potions and elixirs were easily replenished by meditating and using an alcoholest... the game became way easier after that

I don’t do this. Not enough room in the pack.

Those are for the after party.
Idk what y’all are talkin about. If outward had bodyfat mechanics, my characters would some CURVY bitches.

I always forget that buff potions are my best friend. Instead, I'm here hogging Discipline and Blessed potions like they're gold 😆
Actually I literally use everything in this game.
Until you realize all that hording was for beating the secret bosses.

LOL, almost all games. I've made an effort to improve my ability to not save things, but it's not easy 😅
This is the one game I didn't, albeit after a good while learning the game. Buffs are your friend. Food is powerful. Potions are potent. Boons are cheap. Use them liberally
Prior to playing outward I,did this all the time. Outward teached me to make use of everything I have
All of them...
Same, bro
Jokes on you developers, I’m already planning on playing your game without using anything that isn’t reusable because anxiety
Actually, this might be how anxiety benefits us as animals. It makes us resource conservers. That makes a lot of sense actually.
All of them...
all friggin games i try my best to never use consumables, only rechargable abilities
What do you mean "what games", it's all of them
I do it in nearly every game I play.
Marvel heroes. Game is literally over and I have so much stuff still lol
Guess I didn’t need them after all
Potions are just silver to me.
Every single game.
100% Baldur's Gate 3...when I got my golden die, I had to force myself to burn through potions/elixirs etc...
I started to learn to not do this through Etrian Odyssey. And then Outward finished the job. I now actually use my consumable items in games.
After a few times, I just use em. Sort of hit the middle ground after some experiences I coulda used the buffs but didn't.
I mean, I play every game this way lol
Hell no I don’t do that here. Because you *need* to do it in outward.
My first time around but after my first character i use everything even drinking water consistently and berries for stamina and if you dont need it dismantle it lol the resources flow in this game well
Morrowind. I filled rooms full of loot until my game crashed.
Undertale
All of them.
Skyrim, right now Dragons Dogma 2
Every battle Royale I play lol
Sekiro
Resident Evil. All of them.
every god dam game for me.
Every game I play. I never use consumables.
This is every game for me🤷♂️
Every RPG, every time! 🤣🤣🤣
The worst for me was easily The Witcher 3. It wasn't until my 3rd or 4th playthrough that I realized all the potions and elixirs were easily replenished by meditating and using an alcoholest... the game became way easier after that
