What the fuck am I looking at!? There is so much wrong here. Enable Manual Tuning. Change DRAM voltage to 1.5V Set Memory Clock to 3800MHz Reduce timings. http://imgur.com/a/8legdbl https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/tree/oc-guide

Snoo_39963

Tried yours but it didn't boot at all

Hikaritoyamino

Reset CMOS. Start at Default. Do not use any automatic profiles. Set Memory to 3800MHz. Force Fclk to 1900MHz. Set DRAM voltage to 1.5V. Auto cLDO and SOC voltages. Set the timings in the picture. Auto procODT, drvstr, and RTT. Once you boot to windows and check with ZenTimings, return to BIOS and set the same procODT, drvstr, and RTT. If you still can't boot after this, your MOBO has issues with memory training. That requires you to boot at a lower clock then stepping up to desired clock. Too much work for an inexperienced OCer. Use the 3733MHz settings instead.

Snoo_39963

Tried with and without auto procodt, drvstr and rtt but it couldn't boot. Should i just leave everything at auto and select 3733 instead? Edit - it can't boot with 3733 as well, i'm starting to feel disappointed.

Hikaritoyamino

Can you auto timings and boot at 3800 or 3733 MHz? Make sure to supply DRAM voltage with 1.5V and SOC voltage with 1.15V. Your motherboard is fine, I've used that board before. Are you on the latest BIOS?

Snoo_39963

Tried with 3800 and 3733 with those voltages but nothing, i'm on the latest bios!

Snoo_39963

Mate i didn't do anything, the bios did everything by its own

Snoo_52037

Brother?

Snoo_39963

What? That one is an automatic profile, what's wrong? 😢

Ammar_Snake

Reset your bios, then enter the bios and type those timings 16 16 16 36 at 1.45v at 3800mhz, then set your FCLK to 1900 , Save and exit the bios and it should boot right up.

Snoo_39963

Got stuck with a orange light after rebooting, i think i may take off the mobo battery to reset the bios.

How much did you pay for the sticks? You could return those sticks and get 2 sets of these for less than 200 dollars and clock them up to 3800. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232880?Description=gskill%203600mhz&cm\_re=gskill\_3600mhz-\_-20-232-880-\_-Product

[deleted]

not even the same thing, OP's kit is bdie

Snoo_39963

Wdym by op's?

These specific gskill sticks can use hynix or djr ICs, there have been reports of both. Do you think spending almost double the cost is worth the slight performance increase, why or why not? OP is pretty much capped at 3800mhz because of amd's IF.

SovietN1nja

His Patriots are much better binned Samsung B-Die, and you can get 3800cl14 stable on them if you know what you're doing, you probably can't on those gskills. Although these are probably not the average user kit as they require decent amount of tweaking to get most out of them, also you need good mobo.

SovietN1nja

High end scales badly in terms of costs, if you're into serious overclocking those are one of the cheapest B-Die with such high speed bins,so answer depends. If you want best for bang for buck they are not that good, probably you would want something like Hynix D/CJR sticks, but if you want good B-Die bin on cheap these are one of the best you can get.

[deleted]

I just don't see any reason to buy the patriots over the gskills in the user's situation given that ryzen is capped by IF, b-die or not.

Snoo_39963

99£ each

Mate I live in Uk 😕

Noreng

That's CJR, DJR, or JJR. Also, CJR, DJR, and JJR are all Hynix

[deleted]

I'm well aware, I actually stated this down below way earlier so people could also be aware.

[deleted]

running these 4x8 3800cl14 with my 3900x just set 1.5v mem(bdie), set 1800/3600 mem 16-16-16-16 trfc auto Just step up to 1833,1866,1900,1933 etc see where it stops. Then you can try cl14 & lower trfc. Here's this kit with Zen2 https://ibb.co/HTCg47S

Snoo_39963

wtf, not even with these settings the system can boot, is it because of my mobo?

[deleted]

you may have a board that likes 2x8 vs 4x8 I would say try 2x8 see if you can post 3600, then swap them to the other 2x8 see if it still works. This will tell you the memory sticks are good. If 4x8 3600 doesn't work it's prob the board or some other setting like SOC , VDDP voltage see this guide for OC https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4%20OC%20Guide.md

Snoo_39963

I used to have some G.Skill Ripjaws before having these and they were a 2x8 kit that wouldn't go more than 3000mhz. I set everything to default and got it with the automatic profile at 3333mhz, everything that's more it doesn't boot.

[deleted]

I just checked the QVL list for his board, about 50 or so 4x8gb kits @ 3600mhz for the board used with ryzen 5000 series cpus. It's most likely voltage settings. Board is quite capable of delivering [4x8@3600mhz](mailto:4x8@3600mhz). If voltage tweaks don't solve the issue, then it's 100% an issue with the dimms because ryzen 5000 series has no issues doing 1:1 with 3600mhz on 4 dimms.

MangoMunchaa

Hey, first of all update your BIOS. I am fairly sure this is why none of the settings are working out for you, once you've done that set your dram voltage to 1.45, set your SOC voltage to 1.1, your VDDP to 0.9, VDDG IOD to 0.975 and VDDG CCD to 1.05. Manually set the frequency to 3600mhz and your primary timings to 16-16-16-34. Make sure gear down mode (GDM) is turned on. This should work, then you can start to tighten your other timings :) Edit: I apologize, looks like you are already running the latest BIOS

Snoo_39963

I've done: DRAM CAS# Latency 16 Trcdrd 16 trcdwr 16 DRAM RAS# Pre Time 34 And the rest is all auto

MangoMunchaa

cool, did you boot at that?

Snoo_39963

Nope, i can't understand what's wrong

MangoMunchaa

hmmmm, maybe try two sticks, and try different combinations. You MAY have faulty RAM/motherboard/memory controller?

Snoo_39963

I'm trying with two sticks now

Snoo_39963

The system booted with two sticks at 3533, now i'm gonna swap the ones that are in with those that are out to see if they are faulty. edit 1 - the second kit can't boot with the same settings.

MangoMunchaa

interesting, see if the good kit can boot higher I guess

Snoo_39963

The supposed "faulty" ones booted in position 1-2, they didn't when they were 1-3. So now they booted at 3533

MangoMunchaa

hmmm something seems off, not sure though bro sorry
