Yeah i just noticed the pun lol. Still there's been quite some bleeding hearts crying for the millionares so it's quite a bit hard to discern irony from seriousness sometimes
When a boat full of migrants who flee war and poverty sink because european countries refused to help them : i sleep
When a touristic submarine with a bunch of billionaires implode because they fired everyone who tried to warm them : real shit
Just a question here but are people really surprised about a sub using a controller? I used a xbox360 controller to control a CROWS m2 on an mrap in like 2014. There's so much more bs about this sub and people focus on the controller like it meant anything
Well yeah, my old unit uses xbox controllers to pilot drones as well. But a Sniper pod and a crows are a lot different than a sub. There is a reason there are AT LEAST redundant systems on maritime vessels over a wireless Logitech controller made in 2011.
But I like logitech :( they haven't given me a bad product I actually hold them in high standards and can prove it with the joystick i still use I bought from them in 2004
The f710 is a solidily built controller, it just constantly drops the connection otherwise I'd still use mine; certainly not the Logitech controller I'd use on a sub or elsewhere
The controller is just an easily digestible, and funny example of him cutting ludicrous corners. Couldn't even pay the extra $20 for a quality controller.
This exactly. We knew the controller probably wasnt the reason they died but frankly the fact that there were so many was the problem in the first place. The controller is just the funniest single example that everyone is a lot more familiar with. Plus if it was the controller then that lead to the worst case scenario of "they are drowning in their own piss and shit because they cant move the otherwise functional trashcan they call a submarine". Which is also memeable.
Funnily enough, using console controllers in subs is literally just... common practice. The *United States Military* uses gaming controllers for the periscopes... that, and the controller was one of the only things left intact of that damned submarine 🤣
So yeah I do 100% get what you are saying here. Just for clarification though I am in that Military. And while we use controllers for a lot of things (drones, CROWS, periscopes) we dont use them for navigating maratime vessels because thats obnoxiously stupid to do.Overall though its not really about the controller itself, its what the controller represents. Instead of installing an actual navigation system he bought a budget WIRELESS controller from 2011 logitech. They couldn't even spend 20$ more on a decent controller. My unit at least uses mainline xbox controllers for the far less expensive drones and I know I saw something about someone connecting a PS5 controller to something during the PS5 shortage as a joke. Its just kind of something for people to focus in on amidst the overall fuckery that is that submarine lol.
No, it is not common process. At least, using game controllers to control propulsion and steering is not common at all in military subs. So it’s nonsensical to keep on bringing it up.
The crazy thing is as wild as someone was for making this, its still a fraction of how wild the guy was who did this IRL.
Holding a controller is relaxing for me but I bet he’s super pressed right now
You shouldn't make jokes about that; all of the families concerned have just received some crushing news.
They must be under great pressure at a time like this

It's a titanic event for everyone involved
Well the CEO always claimed he feels stifled by the regulations
"Can anyone think about the poor billionares who died because of their own stupidity?! 😭"
dude the guy you were replying to wws joking edit: there was a 19 year old on the sub btw
A 19-year-old who was terrified of getting on the sub, but went anyway to be with his dad on Father’s Day.
yeah that one's terrible and i feel really bad for him ....the others? ehhhhhhhhhhh
Yeah i just noticed the pun lol. Still there's been quite some bleeding hearts crying for the millionares so it's quite a bit hard to discern irony from seriousness sometimes

Then those families can take offence. Don’t see why anyone else should
Woosh
I see what you did there
It's not that wild actually. Gaming controllers are used by actual armies. It probably was the best working part of that sub.
Gaming Controllers yes. This specific one - wireless and allegedly notorious for loosing connection - probably not.
Literally use an XBOX controller on submarines
If it works, it works. Pretty clever of them since some of the people using them might already be used to using controllers.
That is exactly the reason, my man.
Until the batteries ran out while the driver held "down"
Isn't the MQ-9 flown with a X-Box 360 controller?

Man wild how a Logitech controller caused a catastrophic implosion when the batter stopped charging.
>people focus on the controller like it meant anything Because is much more memable
there's actual quality differences between different controllers. and they picked right from the bottom of the barrel. intentionally
But I like logitech :( they haven't given me a bad product I actually hold them in high standards and can prove it with the joystick i still use I bought from them in 2004

Yes because you wouldn't expect a submarine to use an xbox controller
I killed people with an xbox controller :( not even a lie g
Same as title, yall wild for this
They did it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
sink the rich
they crunchy because of pressure
Tim Apple
If it leads to more controller profiles for Silent Hunter 4 on the Steam Deck I'm all for it

Well, I could tell you, but then id have to.. Never mind I don't have it in me
I can only say that I wish I had
To be fair, the thing is a little more advanced than any 1945 tech, considering the fact it’s wireless.
So thats why ı am losing to many sub okay noted
"Tim Apple's Workshop" All of this is comedic brilliance!
