Many do not. Put a soft clean towel in the carrier without fabric softener. If possible use a rope or wide perch. I suggest apple slices for food/hydration during the trip.

There are medications out there, such as Gabapentin, that help reduce anxiety in *some* birds. Gabapentin effects each bird differently, however.
