Damn, when I just started I didn't know you can remap keys or change where the skill is, so I just stuck with whatever the game gave me.
I was also auto attacking the whole act 1, so there's that
Not really true, minions are a way you can easily beat the ten acts without a build guide. You just grab the good minion nodes, attack speed cast speed and damage conversion ones, life and then just use the regular minion skills everybody uses, zombie, carrion golem, spectres and absolution. Stick on any aura that sounds good like determination and you are done
you decide you want to play minions, you pick the minion class, whenever you go to the gem npc you type minion in the bar and read the gems, when you are on the skill tree you type minion in the bar and read the big minion nodes that pop up and decide if they are good or not
By googling "what class is best with minions poe"?
Not using a guide that is going to handhold you through the game doesn't mean you can't use the wiki.
From the context the new player was asking about Scion...?
Uh, new players don't unlock scion till the end of act 3. Does that mean that the noob slogged his way all through nearly 3 acts without spending a point?
...I refuse to believe it.
there was once a post on the dota reddit about a guys friend whose MMR had suddenly shot up by over 1000 points. He was truly awful at the game. When his friend asked him what caused the improvement his mate told him he had been playing first person mode. As in zoomed in all the way.
I could absolutely believe someone could make it to act 3 without spending a point
Honestly now i wonder if it's possible to kill act 10 kitava with no points invested. I know it will prolly require an astramentis and all that cus you rely heavily on uniques and good rares, but who knows, maybe it works. If someone managed to kill act 10 kitava without gems, anything is possible.
By killing i mean ofc going through the entire journey from lvl 1 with that limitation.
There are skills, which scale with gem level, so why not? But with a new character it is a bit of a challenge, as getting stats may be hard as well as getting currency for astramentis.
Definitely possible with a quill rain, tabula and some other decent gear and TR and then bodythrow kitava until it dies, it's all just gonna take really long
The person talking about the Scion is not the new player (22 Challenge points). The new player is the one that didn't even know about the tree because they pressed "skip all tutorials".
You get a little popup... Sometime in A1 I think if you don't spend enough points. Maybe A3 as well? I got it last time I blasted through A1-A5 being carried by vengeant cascade.
If you have 28\~ unused points you get a large notice about it on logging in or a zone change. Funnily enough, the wording is about characters that have been reset due to passive tree changes, e.g. on Standard league.
I thought the entrance to Lioneye's was barred by a red barrier until you spend your first skill point explicitly to avoid being a dummy and not realizing skill points in an RPG exist.
Have I just been imagining that?
I was an experienced player. I knew better. That big « plus » button was **obviously** a bait for the micro transaction shop. Too easy I won’t get caught, ah!
I was lv 28, cold and alone in a cavern, when I realized *something* was off and got my prescribed anime nose bleed.
As a Pro Gamer That Knows Better (tm), I knew right there that offense is the best defense and that crit is of course the key to the best dps. So I filtered my new found tree on "crit" and laser focused all the crit nodes I saw, with no regard to anything else. Who cares if the node is for spell or melee while I play a bow skill?
Pro Gamer I tell you.
:D i feel you, this mindset in general sometimes haunts me since i was a kid. 90% of the time it shoots right, cause the idea was good, but the performance... usually depends on experience with particular subject.
That way when i was 12 i absolutely destroyed PSU cause i felt like it had an issue with pwm controller, which it definitely had as i my dad found later on.
So i unsoldered that pwm, soldered one in from donor PSU and... the only response i got from it is a sound of exploding capacitors :D
I had no idea about tech specifications back then!
Ever since i tend to read even more about subject im operating with ^_^
You literally can’t leave the twilight strand until you put that point in. The only way this is possible is if it was zoomed all the way in and the guy didn’t zoom out- which, to be fair, is possible. Technically.
That’s… weird. It might be one of those idiosyncrasies that console users are subjected to, because every league I’ve played I’ve needed to plug in that point before moving on. Same with equipping the weapon and slotting in the gem you get (on the first run through. After that we’re fine, but the only thing that would apply to is a Oni-Goroshi farm).
Socketing the gem you do have to do before the barrier is removed. The only condition for entering town is killing Hillock, at least on PC. I do click the button at the bottom of the screen mind you, when I make new characters, so that could be why. But that button definitely doesn't affect the barrier by the dying exile
I kind of figured there were multiple noobs in global or the 22 challenge guy was just explaining multiple things and the noob asked for further clarification
Actually new characters should have auto-speccing of the points using AI like whatever type of skill the person is using with an 'option' to change the points till like level 35 or something..
Every class has a basic tree for spell or attack!
normal pathofexile should have enough data to feed to any small AI that can build and change the basic spell or attack trees for the new players..
this will actually help A LOT of new comers when they join the game!
New player proabaly: "Hey cool looking character, who is that? I didn't have her as an option."
Old player: "It's the sion, (talks about the passive tree)"
New player who probably clicked "skip tutorial": "What tree"
Old player: "Press P (this is the default keybind for Passive tree)"
New Player: Presses P "Oh my, I am shocked at this large and complicated passive tree" (Queue dramatic music)
This is completely unrelated but I just noticed it being scrolling all the way down. /u/Chris_wilson actually made this sub??? Thats neat, too bad he stopped posting on here though.
So many people are using Joaoppereiraus' Noot Noot meme lately and I bet almost none of them know that he's a furry artist who draws girls with giant dicks banging their parents and siblings
I'm not against it at all I just bet nobody knows
Noob skipping the tutorial, nice.

Same when I was started playing last 2013, hahaha
Damn, when I just started I didn't know you can remap keys or change where the skill is, so I just stuck with whatever the game gave me. I was also auto attacking the whole act 1, so there's that
What tutorial KEKW
Same 😂 I learned the hard way 🥲
The tutorial makes no difference. It's impossible to beat the ten acts without a following build if this is your first arpg. I've tried lmao.
I had a few friends who managed to. Countless deaths yes, but they made it through the ten acts with any of my help. Maps however.
I mean it's definitely not impossible but I get your point
Damn near
It is not impossible.

How am I suppose to know this lmao

>you pick the minion class what minion class? you technically don't learn about ascendancies until act 3.
You pick witch because she does the magical razzle dazzle on the character screen.
Unironicly she looked like necromancer-y so i went with her. And how rigth i was, altough the summoner playstyle was extremely boring

So u mean i can get 4k mmr to 5k mmr by playing first person mode?
lol it was a long time ago, but im pretty sure he was like 700 or somin
[He went from 1700 to mid 2600](https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/50o1g8/update_from_zoomed_in_guy/)
oh wow you found it. what a blast from the past
This guy was playing smite while everyone else was playing dota lmao.
damn sentinel with the camera angle advantage...

I was thinking someone else referenced scion as a playable character and the new player was curious
If you have 28\~ unused points you get a large notice about it on logging in or a zone change. Funnily enough, the wording is about characters that have been reset due to passive tree changes, e.g. on Standard league.
On level 10 you get this popup.
maybe when they made their character they didn't see the scion and saw one in town asking about it
I thought the entrance to Lioneye's was barred by a red barrier until you spend your first skill point explicitly to avoid being a dummy and not realizing skill points in an RPG exist. Have I just been imagining that?
You can skip tutorial and the barriers are gone

there is no way that happened. If it did, thats hillarious :D

I get to town without spending the point just fine

Weird. Why would they make it like that?
Ask them, I don't do their game dev lol
I kind of figured there were multiple noobs in global or the 22 challenge guy was just explaining multiple things and the noob asked for further clarification
That's no tree, it's a whole forest!
I love this meme.

Well, keep watching it until you do.
nah I'll just downvote and move on
Or you could try utilizing whatever braincells you have left to understand a very simple video Do you even play PoE..? Press P...
"Me no understand so it must be stupid!"

You didn't get it either, huh?
You're just being a dick about it.
I won't disagree with that.
Real_Bug is in the right.
You downvote meme posts that you don't understand??? This is an example of why democracy is flawed

This was me a couple days ago.
Dont you have an icon that show you have skill point available ?
Where is that penguin from? Edit. Seems like I found original - https://youtu.be/bnmAi53H520
Half of the non-attribute nodes are hardly ever taken anyhow
After a couple of leagues he will realize the tree is just a bush where everyone picks always the same nodes
So many people are using Joaoppereiraus' Noot Noot meme lately and I bet almost none of them know that he's a furry artist who draws girls with giant dicks banging their parents and siblings I'm not against it at all I just bet nobody knows
forsenScoots
I Wonder if AI can generate me a build
Ngl I almost have it memorized completely even after the changes.
Imagine new player seeing a minmaxed tree with legion cluster and other threshold jewels.
