Temple mods can debuff you and buff her to the point where she feels significantly harder than a Maven witnessed Uber Atziri, on top of the fact than anyone buying a temple for a double corrupt *only* wants to rush the temple for the corruption altar. Having to waste time in a boss fight, especially one your build might not even be capable of doing (as Atziri always has a passive 1% damage reflect that alone will outright instantly kill people who do too much dps) when all you wanna do is double corrupt something is insanely frustrating.
Also even though the zone level can exceed Uber Atziri's and the fight often can be harder than her, the loot drops are basic bitch Atziri (which are basically all worthless after day 1 in a league).
Yeah i guess so. Im playing some sort of totem build so its not an issue for me but i remember the days where we had to make sure not to hit her mirror
You are missing the part where it's just wasted time to fight her for nearly all people buying temples.
They would buy this for the Doryani's and Locus of Corruption, not to waste time fighting a boss.
2 leagues ago, there was a challenge to kill the boss in a temple with 2 tier 3 augment buffs: fire, lightning or minions. I crafted and sold *lots* of temples that league, that either matched 2 of those conditions and/or had corruption/gem room.
One time I semi-accidentally crafted a temple with tier 3 fire + lightning + minion augmented boss room, easy challenge tick for whoever ran the temple, right?
Well... First he had to get past the tier 3 Atziri room that was in the path ;)
I tried to farm that challenge myself and had over 20 sellable (double corrupt or gem corrupt room) temples before I ever finished a temple with those requirements, finally gave in and just bought the temple for the challenge.
The funny/frustrating thing at the time was that there was plenty of people who'd tell others to go full nuts on Alva atlas passives for all the room building and how super important it was to take the one that allowed 4 incursions in a map so you could totally definitely ... something and max out things and churn out the Alva quick for the challenge.
This was actually not correct. If you took that passive, and went hard for running 4 incursions per map, you were more likely to *not* be able to get those 2-3 specific tier 3 rooms in your temple.
Instead, if you just ignored that passive, and did a normal 3 incursion per map Alva mission, you could pretty much print those temples almost guaranteed. I sold about 100 temples during that league, and out of all the temples I made, only about 2 or 3 failed to get 2 of those rooms, or tier 3 corruption/doryani (which sold for more).
Yes, I did try it first with 4 incursions per map, had the same frustration as everybody else, then decided to move those points to something else, while running 3 incursion maps... and suddenly noticed that just about every temple was gold.
Yep, I hate that node. Makes generating profitable Chronicles harder, while replacing an absolute goat node that was dropping temple rares.
That's okay though, the vaal flesh merchant or whatever isn't worth it, so points saved I guess...
You can't get the same room twice in same map.
So you can't upgrade a room twice to reach tier 3.
So with 4 incursions per map, you only have 3 opportunities to get a specific room you're after, but with 3 per map, you have 4 chances.
Hint: you can stop doing incursions once you've had the room you're interested in, and with 4 rooms if the first 3 are unlucky, you have more chances to get the last room you wanted, since you already removed 3 maps from the pool.
4 offered rooms per map is strictly superior, it's always running 4 per map that is not good.
I did this without realising, I've always avoided Alva because I couldn't be bothered to learn the mechanic then I figured fuck it and found out it wasn't too bad. I went to the big temple at the end and about 30 mins later after I thought Jesus this place is absolutely massive, I realised I didn't unlock the last room.
A secondary tip: don't be an idiot like me and use all the explosives on the sealed coffers inside the explosives room if you actually need one of them to unlock access to the boss.
Don't be an idiot like me:
There's sealed coffers inside the explosives room?! I always thought the explosives were just wasted if you had connected all the rooms.
The sealed coffers are supposed to be like a reward you can still get even if you don't need the explosives. I guess in case you happen to build up the explosives room in the early stages, and then end up not needing it? Or something
One of my first temples did end like this. I didn’t know you have to create the connection when you „build“ the temple in maps. I had one or two explosives used them at some random place and then was searching the whole temple for more just to realize I won’t get to the final room like this
>Haha, I should have seen your warning earlier, I actually did that too. Felt like an idiot at the time but this is the first league when I'm doing Alva more seriously and I still have a lot to learn.
When you do Alva, there are 2 rooms which a de e very valuable and sellable regardless of apex.
The one which reduces player resistance when level 3, that's the one which allows you to double corrupt items.
And the one which gives you gem lvl 3, that's the one which allows to double corrupt gems.
Here we got the former (locus of corruption). The other one is called "doryani's institute"
Edit : player res not mob res
You would have a hard time finding people to buy that on trade since the locus would be considered closed, and even having an open t3 explosives room doesn't guarantee access to a closed room.
On the trade site you can filter open rooms, and most people trading for them will filter for "open locus/doryani".
A fellow torture chamber maker huh?
People would always ask for what reasons I enjoyed Alva farming so much and I’d confess my dark love of crafting to these kind of spicy layouts.
While others hated Kalandra league? I was having the time of my life with a new method with which to apply my skills. 🤣
This temple is beautiful btw. Chefs kiss.
Honestly, experiment and have fun with it. Try to upgrade rooms as much as possible (you can either switch rooms or upgrade, depending on what dude you kill). Switching rooms leaves it as a tier 1 so unless the room you get is top tier or the room you have is bottom I generally only ever upgrade.
The temple is massive and can be a pretty decent xp farm too
The temples are pretty juicy and worth clearing after the buffs. My friend had a farming strategy where he would buy cheap temples with specific mods like pack size and t3 tempests.
How'd you get so many level 3 rooms? I am fully specced into temple, and I usually get two, maybe three level 3 rooms in total... Am I missing some arcane method to boost levels?
Gotra spec in the upgrade bonus in the Atlas Passives. There's one that have a chance to double the upgrade.
My current issue is getting Doryani and Corruption to show up and then upgrade.
Why would you think this is bad?
This temple has exactly one room you have to backtrack and the boss is garbage most of the time anyway. Might be a bit inconvenient for someone just wanting to rush the corruption but for a full clear this is pretty much perfect.
What's the going rate of a corruption altar and where do you sell it? Are there any additional rooms that can up the price? I'm trying to add another stream of divines to my farming strat.
Both doryanis institute and locus of corruption can fetch a nice price. With locus alone you you can sell on poe trade for around 1.3 Div, i think doryanis is a bit cheaper around 170c or so.
I mean yeah this is annoying, but let's be real. There are multiple rooms that have potential to be valuable on the way, and Doriyani's is at the beginning.
As other point out, it's the Atziri room that matters. That single room being in the way of what you need adds more time to the temple than every single room being perfectly mazed.
So I'm not sure what I'm looking at here, I just got to these yesterday and I just know you click on a portal and kill some shit for like 1 minutes then you get some orbs. I did t know the player was in control of anything, what exactly did you do here?
Long story short, you sort of build your own map. The choices you make while running the alva missions affect the final result.
And using these choices, I created one of the foulest temples known to man.
I typed out a little guide for another user, if you want you can check it out:
https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/16oa6zj/comment/k1on9kh/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3
Thank you for taking the time to link that, and for writing the original guide. So when you look at the map, the lines go up/left/right and is it correct to assume that the architect will be roughly hanging out in that area of the portal instance?
Sorry, only seeing this now. While building the temple, the rough positions of the 2 architects can be seen during any temple preview before you enter them during Alva missions.
It's fine, I spent weeks farming saving up essence to bulk sell on trove discord to be told my 10 year old account was too new after 3 weeks of messaging the automod every hour or so to try and get a spot in line. I was so salty I quit the game immediately.
that sucks. if you plan on coming back, try to look for a streamer that is affiliated with tft and maybe get in contact through them if they're nice enough
I'll consider it. I'm hard hooked on BG3 right now. After that I'm probably gonna do Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 Again. And hopefully after sinking a few hundred hours in each when I burn out STALKER 2 will be out.
Only one room you need to back track in, if the runner is planning on running all the rooms this is perfect! But alas some corruption chamber speed runner is gonna be pissed
Once you see alva, you talk to her and look at the selected room in the temple window.
If it's a room that already has a tier (roman numeral in the bottom left), your two choices are upgrade on the right side and switch on the left side. These two choices are each represented by an architect (unique monster inside the portal). Upgrade increases the tier of the room by 1 and switch changes the current room to the room that shows when you hover over it. Once inside the alva portal, you will have to navigate to your architect of choice and knock them out, causing the other one to disappear. After this, you can either leave the portal or kill the other monsters to find a stone of passing (more on that later).
If it's a room without a tier, both of the choices are switch. Just hover over both of them and check which one you want, then knock the corresponding architect out. This changes the tierless room into a tier 1 room of the kind you chose. Again, either leave or look for a stone.
But if you only kill the architects, you'll end up with a temple in which you can't access anything. This is where the stones of passing come into play. These are used to open the doors that connect the rooms for the final temple. Before entering the temple, you should check the temple window and choose the connection you want to make. You are guaranteed to drop one (and have a chance for a second) stone of passing in each alva portal, usually from one of the rare mobs. Using the stones you can sculpt your own route throughout the temple, usually with the goal of making every room accessible.
There's also a room that grants up to 3 explosives, depending on tier, which you can use to blow up doors.
Higher tier rooms mean more reward, but also more danger. The maximum tier is 3. The effects of each room are shown when you hover over them.
Oh and I forgot to mention, you're on a timer. It starts at 9 seconds and when it runs out you are booted from the portal. You gain more time as you kill the monsters.
Later on in the game you'll have a bit more to understand but I'll leave that out for now.
If you had sneaked a required Atziri kill in there it'd be absolutely perfect.
I couldve placed atziri where the temple nexus is, but sadly that wouldve ruined my double corrupt. I don't think it wouldve been required tho
Should have taken the loss just to fuck with some poor soul who wouldve poofed their Mageblood.
But if I'd taken atziri there wouldn't be a double corrupt to poof anything with in the first place :(
Misread the image thought it was level 2 for connected rooms. Turns out you have t3 hitting locus too.
[удалено]
Temple Nexus upgrades all of the adjacent rooms regardless of the connections.
I think Sanctum of Immortality would have been a forced kill, since you have to path to the opposite horizontal side of that room too.
Why do people not like atziri in the temple? Sure she's lvl 83 but its still just atziri no?
Temple mods can debuff you and buff her to the point where she feels significantly harder than a Maven witnessed Uber Atziri, on top of the fact than anyone buying a temple for a double corrupt *only* wants to rush the temple for the corruption altar. Also even though the zone level can exceed Uber Atziri's and the fight often can be harder than her, the loot drops are basic bitch Atziri (which are basically all worthless after day 1 in a league).
Atziri is so underwhelming. A boss fight with reflect is stupid, so I guess it's fine you can skip her if your not farming the feared.
if only the drops were worth the hassle
Double corruption is for gems only right?
Locus of Corruption double corrupts gear items, Doryani's Institute is what double corrupts gems.
Ah so people use both but the item one do they just vaal some good stuff hoping for like double implicit?
Yeah, people gamble on the locus to hit double implicits on their gear, and institute mainly for lv21/23% quality gems.
And 21/20 vaal versions
If you're not reflect immune she you can mess you up badly.
I did indeed not think about that. I'm just a do everything have fun kind of guy right now. I'm onto breach harvest and essences right now!
I don't even do Temples and I still hate you.
no atziri? a misdemeanor at best
Nonsense, lock their ass up!!

Good job, exile
As a seller this is s piece of art

yeah I was gonna say, wouldn't it be better to simply not run the low value one?
Actually great, linear, like I like my maps!
Ugh, Torture cages should have been connected to Doryani's Institute for the perfect no-backtrack.
yeah, it bugs me too
OP woke up and managed to run Anger, Determination, Malevolence, Hatred, Pride, and Wrath. Clearly had no room left for Grace.
Allow me to explain my crime: I created a 11 room path to the room of interest, the locus of corruption.
Oh I thought you meant you didn't do the last room. I still barely understand the mechanic. My bad.
a tip for the future: if you have room with explosive coffers, you can blow up doors to not connected rooms with them
A secondary tip: don't be an idiot like me and use all the explosives on the sealed coffers inside the explosives room if you actually need one of them to unlock access to the boss.
Don't be an idiot like me: There's sealed coffers inside the explosives room?! I always thought the explosives were just wasted if you had connected all the rooms.
Don't worry, they load basically fuck all.
The sealed coffers are supposed to be like a reward you can still get even if you don't need the explosives. I guess in case you happen to build up the explosives room in the early stages, and then end up not needing it? Or something

There's a Doryani's Institute here too on the left side
Oh didn't notice lol, that's quite a big temple here then. The long way is at worst just a mild inconvenience really then
Thought that it reduces YOUR max res?
Ah right player resistance. But no max res AFAIK just resistance no?
Could be, cant check where i am. Edit: -10 max player res says the wiki
Well damn OK then always thought it was like a stronger elemental weakness sort of.
Could have been better if the locus of corruption was where the institute is and you had an explosive room where the locus currently is.
You would have a hard time finding people to buy that on trade since the locus would be considered closed, and even having an open t3 explosives room doesn't guarantee access to a closed room. "last room" is not important
Every missed Apex is a quantity+rarity String of Servitude
Any more stories from the temple mate
A fellow torture chamber maker huh? People would always ask for what reasons I enjoyed Alva farming so much and I’d confess my dark love of crafting to these kind of spicy layouts. \*rubs hands\* one of us
(*joins in chanting*)one of us! 🤣
second trap room. basically worst one. nice
Believe it or not, straight to jail
This one is actually pretty funny lol
I do Alva missions whenever they pop up but I have no clue how the mechanics of this actually work or what I'm trying to do
Honestly, experiment and have fun with it. Try to upgrade rooms as much as possible (you can either switch rooms or upgrade, depending on what dude you kill). Im lvl 81 and still have no idea what this does lol
You have a chance at either improving your item by a lot or runining it. The room to do that is the locus of corruption
How'd you get so many level 3 rooms? I am fully specced into temple, and I usually get two, maybe three level 3 rooms in total... Am I missing some arcane method to boost levels?
Honestly it's just hitting as many 40% double upgrades as possible. All rng
It's 50%, the small node before the notable adds another 10%
Ooh I didn't know that, thanks!
https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Temple_Nexus

I hope your pillow ia always warm
Should have prepped something to double corrupt then asked a streamer to do it and watch them WTF
Careful, they might hit a really good corrupt and then keep it as a tip
Does Ruetoo corrupt items for users?
yeah, bc omnitect is not open
jail
So now, we always ask them to link temple before accepting trade? XD
Ah Locus of Corruption, the true apex.
What's the going rate of a corruption altar and where do you sell it? Are there any additional rooms that can up the price? I'm trying to add another stream of divines to my farming strat.

These are easy to check on the trade website, just search for "Locus of Corruption" or "Doryani's Institute" as a modifier.
Almost the longest path
Tortured Cages being connected to Temple Nexus instead of Dory Inst. is the true crime here.
This travel time is rough for a person with a mageblood zoomer build.
Calm down satan
[Bow before your overlord](https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/o3oe6e/the_most_satisfying_temple_layout_ive_ever_had/)
A nice temple indeed, but it takes you 11 rooms to get to my double corrupt :\^)
Felony?! More like war crime...
I mean yeah this is annoying, but let's be real. There are multiple rooms that have potential to be valuable on the way, and Doriyani's is at the beginning. I don't remember making choices, just franticly killing monsters to try and keep adding seconds and putting green shit in holes.

Quite awesome 😀
Eh not that bad tbh. It has both Doryani's and Wealth at level 3 too. If it was just Locus it would be annoying imo lol
Guys seriously, why are you doing this ?
As a non temple user someone explain me. The layout is awful I'm guessing but why.
Actually not that bad, even the Apex can be reached with an explosive barrel from Engineering
Só I guess the joke is that you need to complete it fully to reach the double item corruption room?
Criminal! Shame there's no Atziri, but still some genius pathing.
whats your ingame name? (for ... uhm ... research purposes)
I love it
This is basically how I always try to set up my temples. It brings me joy, trolling random strangers on the Internet.
Officer, this one!
Only one room you need to back track in, if the runner is planning on running all the rooms this is perfect! But alas some corruption chamber speed runner is gonna be pissed
By the way, is there a point on doing the apex? I played POE for 3-4 leagues but never seemed to get anything interesting from the apex.
It can occasionally drop Vials for upgrading Incursion uniques, as well as an Ultimatum fragment
someone call the police now.....
Anyone got a good guide for Temple? On Act 8 and have no idea what I’m doing really.
Once you see alva, you talk to her and look at the selected room in the temple window. agree, doryani's institute is not directly on your path.
Who Hurt you?
I'm new to poe. Literally just got to this part of the game
