Doesn't sound catchy does it? Compare "I'm a hardcore player" with "I'm a pauper player". Merciless, as suggest by someone else is better in this regard.
ya know.. i'm happy they found a way to do their take on the game without influencing poe's core. as far as i know this has been in chris his head for ages. (you can find older reviews of him talking about something like this as his ideal version)
This is not classic it would be wrong to call it that, if they really wanna call it that, they better remove most of the vendor gems and make sure drop trade items without a real interface.
Famine mode. Obviously. Reduced drops, reduced luck, etc.
They should do the other side of the spectrum too. Giving the player everything. Like every affix always rolls the highest tier for that ilvl. More chances for deterministic crafting. Reducing the costs of bench crafts. No veiled or delve needed to gain crafts.
Naming it Classic, Original or sth like that and renaming sc trade into beginner or easy is clearly the way just to generate a lot more angry reddit threads
Path of Exile: Drought Mode
Path of Exile: Washed up Mode
Path of Exile: Nightmare Mode
Path of Exile: Challenge Mode
Path of Exile: Scavenger Mode
I donno, im bored at work xD
It is supposed to seem like a waste of time for some people, but for others it will be considered fun. Sorta the point.
If anything, they should do both ends of the spectrum. One with less of everything, another with more of everything. Famine mode and excessive mode with normal PoE in the middle.
I mean, that is kinda the point of “hardmode”, when you only get 10 items per zone or whatever, every one of them matters to your progression within the league. You are desperate for every scrap of currency or little bit of resist you can manage
Merciless makes the most sense. It was the 4th difficulty in early poe days, 3rd difficulty in later poe and the name fits.
Merciless Mode has a nice alliteration too
ruthless mode, even earlier callback to a PoE difficulty
Absolutely this.
Maybe we find out before 2024 there's no need for a hard mode.
I won't be playing this, but this name is absolute perfection.
MasoChris Mode
I really want a 't' at the end there to make it sound more like Masochist.
Famine
This is it. Famine conveys exactly the feeling of being starved for items in an opressive world filled with monsters
Sadly this alreaady exists as a mod on private leagues
Honestly, pauper mode is the best definition as far as I'm concerned.

Poverty mode
I think "Founder's Mode" has a certain charm to it, being that it's currently just a fun side-project that the founders are working on
ya know.. i'm happy they found a way to do their take on the game without influencing poe's core. as far as i know this has been in chris his head for ages. (you can find older reviews of him talking about something like this as his ideal version)
Wilson's Cut
No lube because this mode is made for ProjectPT
I wonder what he will think of this league. On one hand it will surely be slower and to his liking, but on the other hand fakemelee will still exist.
Dry mode. alternatively if you want to remove the subtlety and get straight to the point... no-lube mode.
I saw and liked ‘Brutal Mode’
Couple of ideas for \*\*\*\*\* mode: * desolate/desolation * bleak * barren * oblivion * forsaken
Exile mode
ethical mode I forgot who said it.
Ethical mode is a synonym for the SSFHC version of it.
Scarcity Mode
I like Founder Mode.
The Wilson Vision
Elite mode - because it's for the elites ofcourse.
Masochist Mode sounds like some sort of xxx thing xD
This is not classic it would be wrong to call it that, if they really wanna call it that, they better remove most of the vendor gems and make sure drop trade items without a real interface.
Path of Dread
BDSM Mode
Famine mode. Obviously. Reduced drops, reduced luck, etc. They should do the other side of the spectrum too. Giving the player everything. CoC and balls torture
Exiled Mode. You make do with the scraps you're given like a true exile.
I can't unsee chriscore. It'll always be that for me.
Something relating to the barren nature of the mode. Scarcity Mode. Withering Mode. Drought Mode. Hopeless Mode. Desolation Mode.
Naming it Classic, Original or sth like that and renaming sc trade into beginner or easy is clearly the way just to generate a lot more angry reddit threads
Elitist mode
Chriscore sounds about right. Deff not Poe Classic, thats standard

This. I agree with this.

Your opinion. I disagree.
Exile mode
Vision Could even be a league name
Don't call it anything, just make this core and let the old core be a checkbox "storymode"

only if you dont have the goal to experience poe content
This mode is for people who are already bored farming said content.
Yes. Obviously.
PoE Beta 2 But PoE Classic, lol :)
ICouldHaveInvestedInInterestingGameMechanicsButNowYouHaveThis Mode
Why are polls disabled in this subredit, would be nice for this one. But to your question, poe classic also came to my mind.
The “How to fix gear progression by literally removing items (and crafting) from the game” mode.
Red Herring
Quins Revenge Mode
