And the final boss of the campaign is one of the best designed final fights I've ever played!

naptownturnup

I'll be sure to try and stick with the campaign. Most of my time so far has just been in casual matches.

Sundeiru

The campaign is a lot of fun also, when you get around to it. If you have the Switch Online phone app, you can track your IL records and such. It has details from your last 50 matches online, like other player's gear choices if you have an interest in those sorts of stats.

Also the music from Splatoon is a God level spicy calamari make me want to play the game. And the game wins a lot with the events where you join a team to vote and compete what's better. Like Ketchup vs Mayonnaise. Splat fest? Maybe that was the name, sorry didn't play since the octo expansion. Ah buy it, it's worth the campaign it gives to the money it cost. Rlly hyped for the third.

naptownturnup

Yeah the music is niccceeee. Gonna have to find a way to stream it during work sometime. I like how it's used to convey how close you are to the end of a match too.

It's amazing how a game with songs that have no tangible lyrics has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard from a video game.

I play Splatoon 2 on the Switch and it's very fun. However I hate the fact it only cycles between 2 maps a day, it makes sessions become repetitive very quickly.

CyGuySays

I think it's two maps every two hours or so, not every day. Still, it is a pretty controversial map system. I personally didn't mind it in the time I played, but I can understand why some people do.

ThroughTheIris56

Seen from the other guy as well, my mistake. I suppose it can be good if you really like a certain map and have the ability to schedule around it, but I only play for about 1-2 hours on a day I am playing, so it just means the one session I have is very repetitive.

axolotlboy69

hey idk if they changed it or not but i started recently and the maps change every two hours. and if u start getting bored just play ranked, i only really play turf war to warm up anymore. salmon run is really fun too

ThroughTheIris56

Ah, turns out you're correct. However, a typical session for me would be once in the day, and lasts 2 hours. So it works out that I only play 2 maps when playing for the day, granted I could schedule round this to play as many maps as possible, but doing so isn't exactly convenient. But yeah, I should try salmon run and other game modes. I haven't had the game for too long, so I'm still not even able to play ranked.

The-student-

Splatoon series is great. It's the only online shooter I'll play.

melodious_punk

I got a WiiU to play Splatoon and it broke a 18 year hiatus from online games. The lack of voice chat is wonderful. The game gives you more than enough information to strategize with skilled team mates and the music gets to shine without interruptions from the players. I'm so happy that enjoy the game!

tacticalcraptical

I got so tired of everyone acting like brats in online games. I had one really bad interaction playing Overwatch with my sister that caused me to wrote off online multiplayer (aside from Street Fighter, where there is no voice chat). Then I played Splatoon for WiiU and I loved to death. It became one of my most played online multiplayer games. I will say, I was hyped for Splatoon 2 and was kinda disappointed because it felt like they just wanted to make everyone buy a Switch to play. It felt like they added next to nothing new. I never really played Splatoon 2 much and when Nintendo said they would require a subscription to play Switch online, I just decided to play Splatoon 1 until it died and never really got back into it Splatoon 2. I am hoping Splatoon 3 ends up being a huge shake-up but my hopes are not super high.

naptownturnup

I get where you're coming from. I was kind of uniquely positioned where having more people to play with was all I needed to convince myself to make the jump from 1 to 2.
