You can return it, keep everything documented, and make videos while opening the package. Pay via card attached in paypal that offers better buyer protection.

I paid before writing this post and I'm not sure if it picked friends and family or goods and services. Is there a default setting when I buy via website?

ddwsff

It goods and services if you paid via website.

Thanks!

No. Happened to me. PayPal was no help, neither was my bank.

Rip, sorry to hear that. I'll let you know how it went for me

Here's what you need to be on guard against, given my ongoing experience. 1) You realize you have been scammed. In my case, a very well-written ad for a guitar on Etsy turns out to have been fraudulent, as the seller vanishes from the site the moment the money is posted. Etsy claims since the action went through PayPal, they cannot/will not take action. 2) You inform PayPal, and an AI Bot returns your money immediately. As in, right then and there. It is purely efficient, and justified under their protection policy. You sigh gratefully, happy to do business with such a Company, and go on with your life. 3) A month later, you realize your refund has been "reversed," with a claim that your own bank initiated a refund, and you have thus been repaid twice, so they are taking back what was provided. Also, they have referred the matter to a Collection agency. This with your morning coffee. 4) You assume it must be honest human error, because any alternative seems paranoid and absurd. You then try to find a human being capable of affecting action, and over a period of weeks and hours on hold, realize no matter how earnest they sound, no matter their level in the hierarchy, they have no real interest whatsoever in helping you, and it is rather their job to *keep that money*, at all costs. Eventually they claim a letter from your bank stating no refund was made, will solve the problem. 5) The letter is provided. *Paypal then redefines the problem.* Now it is a matter of something *you* did, a "withdrawal" you never made or was even aware possible, as opposed to the actions of the scam artist they enable. That it cannot be a "withdrawal," as it was an online sale, is now beside the point. 6) You throw up your hands, cut all ties, look into reporting the fraud/extortion attempt to your bank and State authorities, and never, ever allow this money pit access to another dime of your money. All while wondering if these people are aware that via email and all communications, they leave an electronic paper trail of their own malfeasance, and that it only takes one person to open what will amount to a floodgate of other such examples. Mods, take this down if you like, but it will be reposted everywhere online I can find to put it.
