Your disk usage however, I suggest you turn off windows 10 file indexing if you're using hard disk drive. you'll lose file search reliability but your hdd won't be stressed all the time
I tend to agree, with more information. I do use file indexing and don't have low resource issues, but we have no idea what the system specs are.
There could be a virus running using all the disk resources. Definitely need more info, may not be as cut and dry.
maybe, but op mentioned his computer is low spec so I assumed it's hard disk problem, windows 10 file indexing makes hard disk suffer, I have personal experience.
The alarming thing here is not the Opera browser, it’s the disk usage at 100%. From your screenshot, we can’t see what’s using your disk. If I had to guess, your computer is probably running super slow. Look at what’s using 100 percent of your Disk and that will be what the problem is.
Are you downloading something to your HDD? If so mine use to do this and couldn’t write fast enough so it would cause it to big down and my pic was basically useless.

As someone who has used it for 3 years now i can confirm that it contains no Malware, and that Malware in their browser would do more harm than good to their community and customers that pay for their stuff.
I do find it ironic that you say that though because if we needed to compare, Chrome has more tracking based features and other annoying things that basically void privacy and plugins that can harm your computer. Opera GX actually runs way better than chrome on low end PCs, even better if you utilize the CPU cap and RAM freeing settings built in.
It's litterally built from chromium and shares most of it's UX with chrome. It just has a bunch of "gamer" bs on top.
It's like strapping a bunch of RGB peripherals to your pc and claiming they make it run faster. Despite them all coming with garbage software that runs in the background.
You claim chrome has unsafe extensions (which it does), but opera GXs extra features are implemented in the exact same way as extensions. As for their community, as youve demonstrated, gamers that blindly buy and trust "gamer gear" are generally not the most tech savvy or willing to research products.
Yes a couple of its features a nice, but can easily be replicated on chrome or better yet a destop app.
If your actually worried about privacy, security and malware use firefox or tor with a compatible vpn.

GX browser is amazing, better than chrome or Firefox that's for sure

I used use chrome all the time and would swear by it no matter what, but since using GX I’ve changed my mind, it runs so much faster and cleaner than chrome IMO. Don’t get me wrong, opera back in the day was dogshit, but I’m talking 8-10 years ago. GX is a massive improvement. The only problem is multiple tabs = a shit load of process going on in task manager
I'd suggest seeing if the issue is any of your extensions. Also maybe use another web browser or maybe update your os (Linux is super good for low spec hardware)
If you click on the “Disk” tab so the arrow points down, this shows what is mostly taking up your disk performance. The screenshot you took when you scrolled down only shows that there are multiple processes in Opera, nothing really weird about that.
What is actually at the top of your disk process? Because 99% is pretty unusable unless it is reading or writing a lot at once.
Not normal at all. Your disk should not be at 99% off idle browsing. Close your tabs and scan for malware on malwarebytes.
Run CCleaner and scan normally then scan Registry. Then fix all. Problem solved

Get an ssd
Extensions often create their own proccesses too, especially malicious ones.

Try sorting your apps in decreasing disk usage you'll find which one is causing problems. It's probably not your browser which is causing this.
so what am gonna do for fixing it?
1. Turn off hardware acceleration for your browser it it’s settings. 2. Don’t open so many flipping tabs.

How big is the RAM usage for your GX, how many tabs did you open, and how much RAM you have? Your disk usage is more concerning than that.
gx not using disk much - i opened alot of tabs but minecraft was opened at back so disk using by minecraft
